SMTP (+auth) confusing issues...

Hiya, I've got a small problem, i'm using the beta, on a gentoo server, with php 5.1.1 ( with sockets ), and i setup round cube to use smtp as follows : $rcmail_config['smtp_server'] = 'smtp.myhost'; $rcmail_config['smtp_port'] = 25; $rcmail_config['smtp_user'] = '%u'; $rcmail_config['smtp_pass'] = '%p'; $rcmail_config['smtp_auth_type'] = ''; $rcmail_config['smtp_log'] = TRUE; ( of course with my real mail host. :) ) and i try send mail from roundcube, and well... it umm... just ... vanishes :P i sent a test message to test123(a)hotmail.com, just to create entries in my log file, unix01 webmailBeta # grep test123 /var/log/* unix01 webmailBeta # so, it's not falling back to mail() nor is it working with smtp : root@mx01:~# grep test123\(a)hotmail.com /var/log/mail.log root@mx01:~# root@mx02:/etc/postfix# grep test123\(a)hotmail.com /var/log/mail.log root@mx02:/etc/postfix# so i'm pretty much stumped, it appears in my imap folder, and it says it's sent, and in the logs directory i've got a sendmail log with the following line in it : [22-Mar-2006 13:51:48 +0200] User: 21 on 196.36.11.162; Message for test123(a)hotmail.com; Subject: (no subject) so, any ideas ? P

Large mailboxes

Roundcube seems to have some difficulty dealing with large mailboxes (large meaning thousands of messages). It can manage indexing one of these, but if I try to actually show a message in a large mailbox, it basically hangs. When this happens, the browser just sits there waiting for a reply, and I can do a 'top' on the server and watch the apache process just eat up memory until it finally dies. It seems that Roundcube is digging through the mail and not releasing memory in some way, which becomes a problem as the mailbox size gets large. At least that's my theory. Does anyone else observe this? This is with Apache 1.3.34, PHP 5.1.2, MySQL 4.1.18 and Cyrus 2.2.12, running on FreeBSD 4.11p14. Thanks! -- Mark Edwards

Frames and loading Compose window?

I am running roundcube in a frame and when I click the compose it doesnt loadwithin its frame it takes over the whole window. has anyone else run into this problem? or know of the logic behind it that would cause it? I've checked the code and its similar to the rest of the commands that load the other calls. Like reply and forward. They all load with in the frame like thier suppose to. Caio, Paul Im using the latest beta.

Where to go after deleting an email?

If you are viewing the contents of an email message, and you press the delete button, where should you go? Hotmail and Yahoo! Mail take you to the next message. Gmail takes you back to the message list. Currently, RC|Mail takes you back to the message list. I think I prefer being taken to the next message. Attached is a patch which will cause RC|Mail to do exactly that: display the next message, unless you are viewing the last message, in which case, take you back to the message list. -- Jacob Brunson BYU Chemistry Department Webmaster

LDAP Functionality - does it exist?

Hey All, So far, I'm liking this RoundCube mail client. I would like to know though, what do I need to do to get the LDAP Address Book functionality to work on Debian? I've got roundcube working, but each attempt to use the LDAP Directory search results in an error in /var/www/roundcube/log/errors that says : [30-Mar-2006 21:15:58 -0500] LDAP Error: No ldap support in this installation of php. in on line 0 I've installed libapache2-mod-php4 and php4-ldap from the debian repositories. I've also used pear to download and install DB_ldap2 and Net_ldap (both beta versions) and I still get this error. I've looked at the file program/include/rcube_ldap.inc and the error is generated by line :47 that says : if (!function_exists('ldap_connect')) raise_error(array("type" => "ldap", "message" => "No ldap support in this installation of php."), TRUE); I don't know PHP at all or I'd be able to help here, but I'm lost. Function for converting body of msg to plain text?

Is there a function to take the body of the message and convert it to plain text for viewing, No header info, no attachements just the plain text? Thanks, Paul

Help, can't view new messages.

I cannot view any new/unread messages. If I click on new icon (blue star) that change into read icon (grey dot), I can view the messages. This hasn't work since beta release. I am now using latest RCW CVS snapshot; it has fixed many bugs I was experiencing, except for viewing new/unread messages. I am using PMDF as IMAP server. Any clues? Or if you don't know the cause or don't have time, then can you point which file I can look at? Shawn

where does the email reside?

when someone goes to view a message from either thier inbox or sent items, it goes through /steps/mail/show.inc, my question, is there a way to know which mailbox that message resides in? Thanks Paul
