Hi guys, I found roundcubemail a few weeks ago and found it really great. I was a long time Horde-Imp User but roundecubemail is much faster, nicer and easier. But the first thing i miss was a "better" adressbook. I talked about this to thomas and he pointed me to the Ticket #1332930. Then i have included a lot fields into the database table and made this fields available under the adressbook. The fields i added now are all fields with are needed for vcard 2.1 support (export and import can then be done easier). But the problem now is, that the "right side" for each contact is a long list and maybe not everybody needs the field "tel work 2" for example. i will put my updates tomorrow to svn - but then i have to think about a nice and fast solution for users that they can change what fields they what to see for here contacts and which fields should be faded out. maybe this can be done like the folder settings under settings or maybe there is a better solution... i hope you can follow me - my english is not the best ;) - you can see it in svn tomorrow. roundecubemail is really good - thank you all. -- Best regards Tobias 'tri' Richter Visit me at: http://tobias.datenwerkstatt-richter.de/

I'm implementing tags!

Hi! I'm fed up with the fact that there are, to my knowledge, no webmail systems that support tags/labels (with the notable exception of GMail). So I'm going to do something about it. I'm going to add tags to Roundcube! =] I intend to read tags from, and store them as, IMAP Flags. The result should be somewhat interoperable with Thunderbird and Pine. (I've never used Pine, so I won't be able to test interop; I'm not a Thunderbird user but I have installed it and played with its tagging.) Now to the nitty-gritty. The plan, so far, is: - clean up the way flags are handled in rcube_imap.inc and lib/ imap.inc. They're up-cased, and "SEEN", "DELETED", etc are magical. I believe a better way to do this is to preserve flag case all the way through, and use "\Seen", "\Deleted", etc as IMAP does, including the backslash. Dealing with the backslash can mean some icky-looking code, but it shouldn't be a big problem. - add API for working with arbitrary tags. I think I'll start with steps/mail/mark.inc. I need to investigate exactly what this file is and when it gets called, though. - UI for tags. Not sure whether to clone GMail or what. Input would be especially appreciated here, I have a little UI-fu but I'm not a designer. I just added this ticket. Am I the only one with this problem or do I have "expired buddies". :-) I can't find error messages anywhere, so I'm kind of lost. :-( Any ideas on how to debug this? Attachments not showing in message

I recently installed the latest relase (beta) and everything is working great, except, when I attach some documents (Excel .xls, for example), the attachment is sent fine, but when I copy myself and read the message I sent, it does not appear in the message - so I can't click on it or download it to verify my message. However, the fact that there is an attachment is tracked on the message list - there is a little attachment icon and attachment size on the message list summary. I tried retrieving the email from another email client and it does show the attachement fine... I tried the same exercise (email attachment, copy myself) with a .pdf document and there was no problem. So, I'm not sure what the pattern is - if it has to do with file size, type, etc. Both were relatively small attachments (<100K). Any ideas? Thanks. Todd

Small bug in spell checker

Hi, I just upgraded to latest svn (rev 329 I think) and I noticed a small bug in the spell checking. I you click twice on the spell check _icon_ (the one on the very top, not the textual one), a graphical bug appears with a double bar on top of edit box. In fact, it is creating another editbox, and if you click a third time, a third editbox is created (they are very small), and so on... I managed to have a ten of them. I you click on the "resume editing" text, everything is coming back to normal. I think that the solution to this would be to have the top icon to also have the same behavior as the textual one, that is switch between "check/resume". I've done some more testing and it seems that the issue is the fact that RoundCube is not including UID in the command its sending to my IMAP server. RoundCube is sending: s SORT (DATE) US-ASCII ALL UNDELETED This returns an error, but when I alter the command and test as: s UID SORT (DATE) US-ASCII ALL UNDELETED It works perfectly. I notice in the imap library code we now have a parameter which controls whether or not UID sort should be used... Does anyone have any ideas why it wouldn't be set true? Is there something I need to change or should it be autodetected? Thanks as always for the help! Andrew

Hi! I know the topic of IMAP sorting has sort of died down, but I'm still having a problem with it. I'm using hMailServer on Windows. Problem with message parsing with >= r326

Since SVN rev 326, I've had problems on one of my Roundcube setups (of course it's the one that's always the most problematic, the BincIMAP/Apache 1.3/PHP5 server) With 325, I would see headers but no body on most messages. With 326 I see the body but no headers. I'm also getting an SQL error in the log. It looks like the information isn't getting into the headers at all. The SQL insert is choking because FROM_UNIXTIME() needs an argument but it's getting an empty string. I'm using the most current version now (327) and the same problem is still there. On another server (using Courier IMAP, Apache 2, PHP5), it's working just fine. I'm sure that BincIMAP is partially to blame, and I wish I could drop it but the server's current setup makes it difficult. Any ideas?

RC & SQL Server

Whilst on the subject of different databases some of you may be interested in a port to MS SQL Server that I have made. The attached zip contains four files: mssql.initial.sql This is the TSQL code for creating the DB objects insert_id.txt This modifies the insert_id function in the rcube_db.inc file to allow for retrieval of the last identity value (@@IDENTITY) made to the database. unixtimestamp.txt This modifies the unixtimestamp function in the rcube_db.inc file now_function.txt This is a new function that is required to place the now() mysql function or getdate() mssql function in SQL query strings. For this to work all occurrences of the string "now()" in the project have to be replaced with a call to this function. Please let me know whether any of you can make use this port. John Woods
