SQL Reserved Words

Hello, I'm working on getting RoundCube to work with Oracle and have run into problems with SQL reserved words being used for both table and column names. Oracle is one of the most strict databases with regard to reserved words. Here is the list of tables and column names that I've found to cause problems: Tables: session (I changed it to sessions and updated my config file. Easy fix.) Reserved Field names: users.language messages.uid (Not SQL-standard reserved but Oracle reserved) messages.from messages.to messages.date messages.size There's also a problem in the identities table with a minus sign in one of the fields: identities.reply-to There is no mechanism to have table and column names mapped in the config file so I'm asking for a recommendation on how to proceed. I think the ideal solution would be to change all the columns from reserved words to allowed words since only UID is a special Oracle (and Postgres) reserved word and the rest shouldn't really be allowed anywhere. The other alternative is to quote them everywhere but I'm not sure how portable this is and I'm testing Oracle on it now. What does everyone suggest? Nox Spell Server

The Google spell check guy has released his non-Google spell check option, Nox Spell Server. It's a server that runs Python and talks, via a local port, to Aspell - his comments: Nox Spell Server is a little Python Aspell server that is fully compatible with GoogieSpell. If you are concerned over privacy or reliability of Google's spell service, then look no more, because you found your solution Aspell also supports far more languages than Google spell service. http://orangoo.com/labs/?page_id=72 So this is very cool, and exactly what I was looking for, however it does mean that people that want to use it with Roundcube need to run this as a server/service for Roundcube to connect to. Can we include this in Roundcube, but have it in the config where it uses Google by default, and Nox if you call it out within the config? This way RC will work 'out of the box' but also allow you to use your local spell server, once it's config'd. I'm on vacation, but I'll start looking at this later in the week - would like to start testing this right away, if it weren't for this nice beach outside! RC with huge mail box

IMAP folder name & UTF-8 problem

Hello All, The IMAP folder may contain naming like this: 1. MyFolder 2. myfolder 3. MyFoLoEr They all different but roundcude always pick the first one if it is on the top of the list. AND, there is no IMAP-UTF-7 to UTF-8 convertion on the IMAP folder. In my test, all my BIG5 IMAP folders cannot be read. may iconv would help. Thanks Patrick

Tickets assigned to 0.1-stable

Hi there, if I understood the Roadmap correctly, there shouldn't be any tickets assigned to 0.1-stable, because we want to fix all known bugs until 0.1rc - is that correct? mtu -- Connectio Interruptus ist kein sicherer Schutz vor Viren!

Various issues with 0.1-beta2

1) There's many IE CSS extensions in mail.css. 2) There's CSS typos or something like that line 535 to 537: html>body*#quicksearchbar { background-image: none; } html>body*#quicksearchbar a { top: 5px; } html>body*#quicksearchbar #quicksearchbox { width: 180px; top:0px; right: 1px; left: auto; } Firefox complains : Expected ',' or '{' but found '*'. Ruleset ignored due to bad selector. And there's a missing | and the end of a line. 3) A problem with MySQL ? I got this line hphp[10174]: ALERT - canary mismatch on erealloc() - heap overflow detected (attacker '212.234.8.113', file '/var/www/roundcubemail-0.1beta2/program/lib/DB/mysql.php', line 798) I run PHP 5.1.4 and MySQL 5.0.24 which are the latest versions available for my Gentoo.

How can I get started with sending in changes?

I would like to help with RoundCube development by adjusting a local copy and then submit changes. I have a few barriers I will need to overcome. First, I am not really familiar with how things are handled from a general overview and could use a walk-through. I am also not a big PHP developer. I have mainly worked with Perl, Java and ASP.NET (C# and VB.NET). But I have worked with PHP a bit. You can see an example of something I once did with PHP here... http://brennan.offwhite.net/blog/2004/09/27/phpnuke-feeds-for-rss-20-and-at… Second, I do have a lot of experience with Javascript but I have been working with the popular libraries like Prototype and Scriptaculous. So the custom Javascript I am seeing is not familiar to me here either. I will need a little assistance with getting started with it. One nice piece of Javascript I created is GPlotter. http://gplotter.offwhite.net/ The latest release uses Prototype and it uses an Object Oriented model, so is easier to work with during maintenance. As I reviewed the Javascript for RC it was not clear that there was a OO approach in terms of controlling the UI and handling the mail. I'd like to discuss some ideas with the core team who have been dealing with the UI and Javascript. I think I can be a big help here. I am also familiar with Subversion, so I already have a local copy pulled down and I am watching updates as the come down. I have been hoping to understand the application design by simply reading the code. I have an idea of how things are working, but the coding style is different than my own. I need some time to get comfortable with it. I am interested in doing whatever I can. Let me know if you would be willing to walk me through the PHP architecture or the Javacript.
