Roundcube stacks in BitNami

Hi, I'm Beltran from BitNami project. We run a bi-weekly contest in which our users decide which application we should package next and add to the BitNami Library. Roundcube was the latest winner of our contest and we have been working on creating the stacks and virtual machines. One of the aims of BitNami is to simplify the deployment of popular web applications. Each application in the BitNami Library includes all the dependencies it needs to run, are completely free and can be deployed as all-in-one free native installers, virtual machines and cloud images. You can download the stacks for Linux, OS X, Windows or the virtual machine from the links below. plugins.roundcube.net ready for testing

Hello devs After way too much time, we finally managed to get the composer-based plugin repository for Roundcube up and running. It's a clone of the packagist.org website with some modifications for managing Roundcube plugins. We also built a custom composer installer module that will install plugins to the right location and will also activate them right away in Roundcube's main config file if desired. Now it's time to fill up the repository with your plugins! Thus all plugin developers are kindly invited to register their plugins at http://plugins.roundcube.net In order to do so, you need to put each plugin into an individual SVN or GIT repository and write a composer.json file which contains the meta data of your plugin. Once this is done, please register at plugins.roundcube.net and submit your plugin by adding the URL to the source repository. It's as simple as that. More detailed instructions how to publish plugins and how a composer.json files needs to look like can be found on the http://plugins.roundcube.net site. Please note that the new plugin repisitory is still in beta testing and not officially launched. We're still working on improvements such as a plugin browsing page and more features of the installer (e.g. post-install and post-update scripts as well as automatic database schema upgrades). $rcmail_config['session_storage'] - why not untouched?

Different handling (displaying/quoting) of quoted paragraphs

Preamble: This issue may get complicated. It's not a bug report, but at this stage just an appeal and attempt to understand the logic. Maybe Roundcube 1.0-git is doing it all correct, but maybe not. The issue: I received a message, produced with Roundcube 0.8.1, that contained the following quoted paragraph (without the dashed lines): --------------------------------------------------------------------- > Mal was ganz anderes zwischendurch: Es ist ja jetzt bei der Telekom > die Rede > davon, zukünftig ab einer bestimmten Datenmenge den Durchsatz zu > drosseln. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Three things are important to note upfront: 1) The quote above is taken from the message source, not from the display within Roundcube. 2) Lines #1 and #3 of this quote have a trailing blank (20d) in the original message (verified by saving it locally and looking at it with a hex editor). The message you are currently reading will not have these trailing blanks, as Roundcube 1.0-git does eliminate all trailing blanks prior to an EOL upon sending (no matter if the format is flowed or not). Which is a good idea, IMO, but apparently different to the behaviour of 0.8.1. 3) The message is declared as charset=UTF-8, format=flowed and CTE 8bit (not sure if this does play any role here). The quote above is displayed in 1.0-git [GIT 20130503.1233] like this: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Mal was ganz anderes zwischendurch: Es ist ja jetzt bei der Telekom > die Rede > davon, zukünftig ab einer bestimmten Datenmenge den Durchsatz zu drosseln. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- So the LF right after "zu " in Line #3 is being eliminated in the display, probably because of the trailing blank in line #3...? But if that should be the reason, why then isn't the LF in line #1, right after "Telekom " being eliminated as well...? So much to the display. Upon replying to this message, 1.0-git will will re-wrap the quoted paragraph like this (although I always trusted in that Roundcube wouldn't do any re-wrapping of quoted paragraphs): ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- >> Mal was ganz anderes zwischendurch: Es ist ja jetzt bei der Telekom die Rede >> davon, zukünftig ab einer bestimmten Datenmenge den Durchsatz zu drosseln. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here, BOTH LFs in line #1 and #3 (with trailing blanks) are being eliminated, not only the one in line #3. So we have just two lines. Which does of course look much more nice than the quote of the original message. But what is the logic behind this, and why is the display logic different to the reply/quote logic? Furthermore, I'm not sure if re-wrapping of already quoted paragraphs is a good idea in all cases (in the case above it is, of course). If I think about plain text tables, ASCII art and such, this may become a mess (needs more testing). Apparently the current behaviour is related to those trailing blanks right before EOL, and probably to format=flowed as well (not sure for the latter). Any response welcome and appreciated. Expanded threads lost when switching back to message view

One of the most annoying things I've found so far in roundcube is that if you have a threaded message listing and have expanded a thread, that this when returning to the message listing from viewing a full message in this thread. It is obvious enough why it works this way but it would be fantastic if the message listing state (and position) was preserved so users don't have to search around in the message listing to to pickup where they left off. -- Kelsey Cummings - kgc(a)corp.sonic.net sonic.net, inc. Most likely thanks to the new wrapping routine, which did invent some new bugs on one hand, but at least fixed this one (and probably other ones) on the other hand. Plus the ones that have been fixed in the past days/week. Interestingly, 1.0-git of March 17th still had this bug, the current 1.0-git I'm now using [GIT 20130503.1233] doesn't appear to have it. So the new wrapping routine must have been invented/committed after March 17th. I may have missed that, as the SVN list had a severe leak - apparently due to an outage of the mailing list servers - between Mar 20th (10:43) and Mar 25th (09:11), so I haven't been able to notice the commits during this leakage. Mystery: 1.0-git not usable anymore

Just logged into Roundcube 1.0-git and can't use it anymore: It doesn't load any messages, and it doesn't react to any key or mouse action. It does show the respective link in the status bar when hovering them, though, but that's all. Roundcube deletes leading blanks upon sending - but why??

Besides some issues I'm still owing the creation of a ticket for, I just stumbled across another issue: Apparently (and due to reasons which do escape me) Roundcube does delete leading blanks upon sending. How to switch from folder to message pane with a keystroke?

As Roundcube 1.0-git [GIT 20130501.1356] is not usable with a mouse anymore in IE8: Is there any key with which I can switch from the folder pane to the pane with the list of messages? When clicking on the INBOX, I can scroll with the Cursor keys through the list of messages of the INBOX in the message pane. But only in the INBOX, all other folders don't behave this way. Anf of course, this mouse problem should be solved anway. In [GIT 20130422.1409]), that wasn't a problm, but since [GIT 20130501.1356] (or even before( it is one. (The problem BTW is, that any mouse cick on a message sends the entire window to the background, i.e, it's becoming unvisible. That's why I'm asking for that keystroke.)
