I was wondering how the MySQL 5 support is for RC? I'm currently using 4.1 and that works fine, but I've read that MySQL stops support for this release at the end of this year, so I will have to switch before then. Anyone already using MySQL with RC, and if so, does it work fine? Thanks. -- Regards, Erik

User-Agent mail header

Just a quick query on the use of the User-Agent mail header with RC. Which RFC is this from? I thought it was a HTTP header and User Defined Fields (X-$) were defined for mail in RFC822 which for some reason don't get a mention in RFC2822 which succeeds it. Deprecated? Is this the right header to use for identification of the software used to send the mail? I don't know much here, any info on this appreciated Chris

Patch: LDAP data

Hi everyone. I added an option to fetch the name and the mail address of a new user from a LDAP directory on his first login. Very usefull if you have a single mailserver for multiple domains. Also wanted to say hi. I've become reinterested in RoundCube as a potentially simpler replacement for my home install of horde/imp. I'm not sure I'll have time to post useful patches, but I'll certainly be following this release and ongoing dev with interest. I have lots of enterprise PHP experience, if I get inspired, I'd love to help contribute. Just juggling the rest of my priorities as we all are. It's great to see the push starting for 0.2. I think there's room for some more RoundCube buzz in the community again. Thanks for your great work, let me know if there are particular ways I should explore helping out. -Will

New error in logs: Windows date support

Hi! I'm using the latest SVN of Roundcube on Windows with PHP5. I've started getting the following message in my errors log, it appears since about June 19th. There are 2 line variations: [13-Jul-2006 12:06:56] PHP Warning: date(): Windows does not support dates prior to midnight (00:00:00), January 1, 1970 in <snip>\program\include\main.inc on line 1523 [13-Jul-2006 12:06:56] PHP Warning: date(): Windows does not support dates prior to midnight (00:00:00), January 1, 1970 in <snip>\program\include\main.inc on line 1567 If this something that needs to be fixed, or just something I should set my error level to ignore? JS errors on SVN 271

I'm having trouble with the last SVN update. Basically new messages don't get in the div frame as I eliminate others, and sometimes the frame gets totally empty. Firefox Memory Leak extension

While searching for problems with Firefox using a lot of memory I came accross the Memory Leak Extension for Firefox. This gives information about possible memory leaks. I thought it might be of interest for developers, but maybe you already know it. As far as I understand now, it has to do with the Javascript on the webpage. Apparently there are referals to objects no longer available. Addition to Ticket #1483843

Ticket #1483843 requests for a mass mark as read option. I would like to see this extended to mass flag/move option. It would be nice to select multiple mails and then move those to specific folder, as is possible with GMail and IlohaMail. For an individual mail this is already possible. I can add this to the existing ticket or create a new one, but I'm wondering what the best way for feature requests is. I see things asked for on the mailing list being implemented right away while some tickets are entered a long time ago. In a few weeks, I probably (hopely) have some more spare time left, which I want to spent on the RC when required. I would like to dig through the list of open tickets and see of some of them have been solved in the meantime. But maybe it is better to do this when a second beta is to be released. Is a date for a new beta release already planned? It would be nice for those users who don't use SVN to benefit from all the great improvements made over the passed few months. -- Regards, Erik

connecting to LDAP with bind_dn and password

Hello, I am new to this list and want to share the changes I have made to the rcube_ldap.inc to access our LDAP directory (bind to LDAp with a dedicated readonly user) I saw that there is a already a bind function but since I could not figure out how to use it ( i have only little programming skills) i have put the code directly into the connect function. Ticket #1443200 (Cannot login if INBOX is empty)

Could someone have a look at ticket 1443200? http://trac.roundcube.net/trac.cgi/ticket/1443200 It appears that the error message returned by BincIMAP when requesting an invalid range of messages (1:0) isn't handled properly. Courier also generates an error, but does not exhibit the same problem. I put a patch in the ticket that fixes it for me, although there could be a deeper issue, I added a simple sanity check that allows it to function as it should. I had it check for the case that is failing (1:0) but I suppose the more general case of the range n:m where n>m should also be tested. If the simple check could be committed, it would at least let that many more people use RC without wondering why it won't let certain users login... :) I have another BincIMAP issue, ticket #1483855, but it's much harder to solve. I'll see if there's any more I can do to help figure out how to best solve that one. Jim

Weird behavior with mass mail deletion

I would like to start with big cheer for all the great improvements over the past few days/week which have been submitted to the SVN. Occassionally this should be said in stead of only reporting bugs over this list ;-) I noticed some weird behavior when deleting 'mass' mail deletion. When the list of mails is spread out over multiple pages, go to last page, select all mails, delete them. Then mails are deleted, but an empty list is shown. It would be nicer to show the previous page of the list. Furthermore, the counter at the right bottom shows 'Messages 81 to 80 of 80'. Thus, the counter isn't update properly either. I cleaned up a few folders, after which I returned to my inbox where the counter now shows: 'Messages 81 to 2 of 2'. The 81 does not get update properly anymore. I've never noticed this before, so I don't know if it's got something to do with recent changes, or that this behavior has always been like this. -- mvg. Erik

Hi all, I wanted to check the new drafts feature richs made for us. New labels/messages in Trunk

Hi everybody, Here's a little hint about localization files and new texts added with new functions. If you implement a new feature that uses localized texts you don't have to alter all the localization files. Just add the new labels and messages to the en_US version. This files will be loaded before the localized texts are merged over it. In that case, the English strings will be used if the localized version is missing. I opened a wiki page where all the new texts should be added: http://trac.roundcube.net/trac.cgi/wiki/Loc_Newlabels Before releasing a new version, all translators will be requested to update their files with the texts listed here. htaccess on program directories

Hi In the default package there should be .htaccess files to prevent reading of .inc files. LDAP directory search

Hi all, first I would like to thank you for this beautiful webmail program. I tried it two days ago and decided to replace my squirrelmail installation with it. The only thing which didn't work as supposed for me was the LDAP directory search. In my LDAP directory a lot off user have multiple mail attributes. So if I look for one, the LDAP search returns all addresses. These are stored as an array in $result[$n][$server['mail_field'] but only the first one is used when generating the $contacts array. Let's say I am looking for every address with contains 'example' and I have a user John Doe who has the following email addresses: john(a)doe.com john(a)example.com john(a)example.net The LDAP search will find the user, but only the first email address john(a)doe.com will be displayed. I changed the ldapsearchform.inc on two places: - when generating the $contacts array, not only the first element of the $result[$n][$server['mail_field']] is used but all the elements in this array - all email addresses, which were not searched for are deleted from $contacts before returning it if the search was on the mail attribute I hope you can integrate this patch as it doesn't change the functionality of the search, if every user in the directory has only one mail attribute.
