I didn't like the AUTH hash being public in the URL, so I make now store it in a session in my installation. mysql installer

Hello list, i wrote a short script for the creation of mysql tables. it reads all table definitions from a php array included earlier, then checks if the tables exist, after that it checks each field if it matches the desired definition. If anything differs it executes previously declared sql queries to correct it. It takes care of multiple indexes also. Just drop the two files in the attachment in the folder SQL/ and execute: php mysql_setup.php (it should work also being called from your browser) You can test it with deleting/changing some fields, or whole tables, run the script and check if it recreates the tables correctly :-) what it cannot do is changing values in rows, like the change UPDATE `contacts` SET `del`=0 WHERE `del`=1; (i even see the problem of multiple executions of that query...) also note, that changing field types can cause data loss (think of changing a varchar to int, the colum values of each row would be lost) As of now i just created the definitions for the tables: users, cache i will add the other tables later :-) You may run the script as often as you wish, it _SHOULD_ (at least i hope so ;-) ) only change wrong tables/fields. So if later new tables, fields are added or changed, only the file mysql_table_defs.php needs to be updated. Kind regards Florian Sperber P.S. what about changing table types from MyISAM to InnoDB?

Sorting

Hello, new to the list.. Great product.. Having a little trouble with the sorting and after going through the code for a LONG time, I am a little lost and not sure where to go next. I am using the version of RoundCube which is posted on the website for download, the tar.gz file, I did not install the CVS. It seems that RoundCube sorts by date received by the mail server but displays date sent by sender. This causes a display that looks like this: Thursday Thursday Thursday Wednesday Thursday Thursday Thursday What I am trying to accomplish is to get RoundCube to display the same date that it is sorting by instead of sorting by one and displaying another. After working on this for several hours, I would be most appreciative of any help thrown my way. --Todd

HTML mail Display problems

Whenever I open up roundcube and log in, I can click on any message and as long as it is plain text, I can view and see it fine. Once it is HTML though, or if it is a forwarded copy of an HTML e-mail, I just get a blank page. No e-mail content, no attachment, nothing. I have tried it on the stable version and even on the newest packaged CVS version, but nothing seems to work. right click context menus?

Hello List, i think the behaviour of the list of mails is a bit confusing, a single click on a sender should not immediately compose a message. At least it's not what i would expect being used to thunderbird. Maybe outlook users experience that differently? Wouldn't it be better to introduce a contextmenu on a right click? This is just a suggestion, maybe even one which could make it on the roadmap? ;-) Kind regards Florian Sperber

Strange Timeout Behavior

I've seen several reports on this list of timeout errors with large emails. I'm getting a timeout -- or at least some kind of 'hang' -- every time I send an email. Client-side is running Debian sid, Firefox 1.5.0.1, although I also got the same result with Opera 8.5. The email actually goes through fine, but the "Loading..." translucent box never disappears, nor does the browser ever reload to the message page after sending. Any ideas what might be happening? Highlighting text in Internet Explorer

I recently received a bug report from one of our users saying that it is impossible to select text from an email message in Internet Explorer, because it selects half of the text on the page, including the folders and a few other things. I have verified that this is the case with Internet Explorer, but not in Firefox. Is this because of a bug in Internet Explorer, or Roundcube? Should I tell my user to switch to Firefox, or should I submit this bug to the Roundcube bug tracker? --Jacob Brunson Department of Chemistry, BYU

open_basedir restriction

Hello all, I had a minor problem today after I switched our roundcube to a different virtual server. That one had the the open_basedir restriction active which led to the following error when uploading attachments: PHP Warning: copy(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/tmp/phpGk2plC) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/.../htdocs/) in /home/.../htdocs/program/steps/mail/upload.inc on line 42 ./program/steps/mail/upload.inc: if (copy($filepath, $tmpfname)) I wonder if it would be possible to use move_uploaded_file() instead of copy() as this only restricts the destination directory? It is also more secure, because only uploaded files can be moved... Balu

A few new options in main.inc.php (default username)

Hello all ! I am using CVS version for my personnal usage. To the least, I must say that i\'m impressed with RoundCube ! With it, I started to enjoy webmail again :-). Since I am the only user of my webmail, I find it troublesome to have to enter each time my username (yes, i am lazy :p ). So, here it is : an option to have a default username, and to enable only this user to log in: $rcmail_config[\'default_user\'] = \'your_username\'; $rcmail_config[\'only_default_user\'] = true; The corresponding diff is attached (main.diff). Second option: customize the \"junk\" folder name on the imap server (in my case, the folder is \'Spam\') $rcmail_config[\'junk_mbox\'] = \'Spam\'; Do not forget to also change $rcmail_config[\'default_imap_folders\'] accordingly. Diff file is func.diff The code behind these options is very simple, you should not have problem to integrate them in your setup if you wish them. Have fun with roundcube ! Zimbra is a great webmailer, except it is not looking as cool as roundcoube :-) Performance could be better... we'll see. Code should never be written twice... regrads, Tobias

New CVS snapshot available

Hi everybody I just published a new CVS snapshot for download. It contains the current version which is on the way to become a beta version. I think the most important things like message caching and UTF-8 support do work now. Of course there are some open tasks and some known problems with specific messages showing no attachments and things like that, but I guess it's time to make a break and look forward to release a new "stable" version. A request to all translators will be sent soon with a list of recently added texts in order to have all localizations up-to-date. Actually, I wanted to add the search feature for the beta version but I didn't have enough time to do so. If somebody of the current developers would like to take care of that, I would really appreciate it. Here are some of my plans: * Adding a simple search field to the message list for "quick search" in subject and sender. * The search results (a list of message ids) should be stored in the cache for this session. * A search-id would be passed to the client and sent with each request (i.e. sorting, paging) to access the cached search results instead of querying the server again and again. * If the user clears the search input field, all messages are shown again * A search method is already available in the rcube_imap class Any thoughts? Problem Sending Attachments

Hi, First off I'd like to say thanks to everyone involved with RC for their hard work. You guys have produced one of my ideal webmail clients. I love it! :) Ok, so on to my problem. I'm running FreeBSD 6.0 with Courier-IMAPd & Postfix, and "User-Agent: RoundCube Webmail/0.1b" For some odd reason, I'm having trouble sending e-mails with attachments. I did some investigating and found that the resulting e-mail's primary header didn't contain Content-Type. It should be something along the lines of Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="..." So I browsed through the source, found where the actual mail is sent, and added some code to add that header specifically (which uses a regex to extract the boundary string as I noticed the encoding is reliant on PEAR:Mail_mime). No dice :(. I played around with Content-Transfer-Encoding, and Content-Type to no avail. I have no idea what's causing this. I sent an almost identical email (with the same attachment) through SquirrelMail, removed the extraneous headers (time, etc.) and did a diff. Practically no difference! The base64 encoding looked fine. The only differences were in the body text charset and transfer encoding. So as it is, I'm out of ideas. If you guys want to see the actual e-mails, I can send those if you like. Heck, give me your email address and I'll send you an e-mail with an attachment and you can see for yourself what's wrong. My guess is either some character encoding issue(s) or a problem with perhapse PEAR:Mail_mime. I'm not sure yet. Any help would be appericiated :) -Regards Peeyush Singh

imap functions

Hello I'am a french developer. I realy like RounCube but it doesn't support POP ! I don't understant why you don't use the imap function of php (as imap_open() ...) I work to change it, it's hard because i start with php (since 1 year) ! I whant to do whith round cube as outlookExpress : A mail reader of all email acount in the same time with the folder list ! do you work do do somting else ? if you whant i can send you my work but i think it will not ne interesting for you because it isn't your goal ans it's dirty. please excuse my engligh !! Serious Bug in Roundcube headers (bcc)

I've been using Roundcube as my main web mail applicaition now for a few months. A couple of days ago I sent an email out to a list of recipients (about 20 friends), all in the BCC field, in order to prevent people from replying to everyone on the list. One reply I received was from someone asking why they could see everyone's email address in the BCC field. I've just upgraded to the latest CVS version (about 10 minutes ago), and tested again. It seems that RoundCube is including the BCC header as a regular header in the email and thus it's being sent to everyone. Fortunately I was just using the BCC header to control replies and it didn't really matter that others could see each others info. But this has the potential to cause some serious problems. Imagine emailing your girlfriend explaining how she's not being rational, and bccing a buddy cause it's so funny, and then she see's you'd bcced him! Not going to be a fun time! lol. My Config: Using PHP 4.3.10, on Apache 1.3. qmail is the smtp server, and RoundCube is configured to use smtp, not mail(). -- Dave

Feature request: interface for manually adding users

Hi! On my webhost (www.dreamhost.com), all email address that are created are assigned a randomly generated username (m########). As such, RoundCube doesn't work out-of-the-box for logins. You have to manually add users to the users table in the MySQL database giving it the correct username and alias. Being as I don't think there's any way to get it to auto-discover the real username and I'll have to add these users manually every time, would it be possible to get some sort of Admin interface that makes doing this easy inside of RoundCube? I could write one myself, but I'm not familiar with the codebase and am definitely couldn't integrate it that well into the design-scheme of the app. Any thoughts on that? Thanks! -Joel

Login problem on DreamHost server

I am on DreamHost and am having a heckuva time logging into RoundCube. I've tried every login/password combination I can think of but nothing will let me log in. I can use their SquirrelMail webmail just fine however. Has anyone had this problem on DreamHost?
