RSS Support for RoundCube

After some hours I have completed a initial RSS feed-creator for Roundcube. It is a simple addon which gives you a RSS feed of your inbox. Current problems: * Mime-mail gave me a headache so I decided to skip that for now; resulting in strange HTML messages * RoundCube uses a double sessionID, the reason of which I still haven't found; but it results in being logged out if you request the RSS feed from another IP then where you started the session on. * The roundcube mail-cache is not being used; resulting in possible slow performance To try it: * download http://sjon.hortensius.net/projects/roundcubemail/rss.inc to your roundcubemail/program/steps/mail/ directory * add the following line to index.php:258 (just before the comment "kill compose entry from session") if ($_action=='rss') include('program/steps/mail/rss.inc'); That should do the trick; you can now browse to the following URL http://your.roundcube.url/?_auth=leave_existing&_task=mail&_action=rss Comments welcome :) Regards, Sjon

wierd bug to empty trash

if our users get over a certain number of messages in the trash, they won't delete when multiple messages are selected. You can Select All, then delete. Messages just repopulate the list. Fix: view a message in the trash and delete it from there. Then select all and delete. view another message and delete, then select all and delete. So you have to delete 1 message at a time in between mass deletes. Kinda wierd.

Mail recieved in gmail looks bad

Roundcuemail and big IMAP Folders on a Cyrus

Hi List, today i've install the roundcube Mailer and the first it looks verry well. Fine, thanks for a great software like this. On the second look, i had found a strange problem with that software. If i connect to an IMAP-Account with more than one GB Messages, so the Website still load and load and load... It stops after the "maxexecutiontime" in PHP-Settings are seizes i think. If i set debug-Options to 8 (In main.inc.php it is describle as "Trace") so i will show an error like: * CAPABILITY IMAP4 IMAP4rev1 ACL QUOTA LITERAL+ MAILBOX-REFERRALS NAMESPACE UIDPLUS ID NO_ATOMIC_RENAME UNSELECT CHILDREN MULTIAPPEND SORT THREAD=ORDEREDSUBJECT THREAD=REFERENCES IDLE STARTTLS ANNOTATEMORE cp01 OK Completed Tried PLAIN: Resource id #25 I cannot assign the error and hope anyone can help me. Contacts button in compose screen

Can anyone please explain to me what the Contacts button on the composer screen should do? Or is it not working? I tried to track it's function down the code but lost track soon... RSS feed of your email

I just had an idea that might be usefull for Roundcube to implement. How about supporting a generated RSS feed of your email; so you can add that to your Firefox/whatever RSS reader; which will then notify you of new email? A link to /?auth=lala&_task=rss would be sufficient. We could show that link for every folder, and add a keepalive call to the RSS read action. stripslashes() with address book

Hi all, I noticed that if I add a name such as O'Toole in the address book it will display as O\'Toole. Not sure if this is specific to my php config or not, or it simply needs stripslashes() function applied before outputting. Thanks, Justin

Login Issue

Just wondering if anyone else has seen this. When a user attempts to login, the username/paasword is entered correctly, but instead of logging in it simply returns to the login screen. The second time the user/pass is entered, everything works dandy. Its not a major issue, but more of an annoyance. If anyone has any solutions, they woud be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, I'll dig in and see what I can find. Thanks!

Hi Robert, The information I got from the logs tells me that the spam mail was sent manually by copying several hundreds of e-mail addresses to the bcc field. I think it's very hard to use RoundCube for automatic/scripted spam sending because you need to have a valid session which is checked by a cookie and the session hash within the URL. After sending a message, you have to reload the compose page to get a new "sending session". Of course one could write a script doing right that but it would be very complicated and you could also write it for GMX or Hotmail accounts. I planned to add some spam-protection functions such as a limit for recipients and checking the time since the last message was sent. Squirrelmail to Round Cube Mail User and Address Book Importer Script

Hey All, I have been trying to find something to contribute to this project and finally did. Having all squirrelmail users on my system I wanted to easily import them and their address books into roundcube so I wrote a script to do such a thing. You can download it @ http://www.thinkwebmedia.com/roundcube/rc.tar.gz Simply untar in a web available path, edit in your squirrelmail data path and your roundcube database information and run from your favorite browser. Please send me feedback/bugs/suggestions! My coding is quite rusty so hopefully you guys can deal with that :) This is beta software, so please backup everything. Thanks, Justin

Issue with blank replies from Outlook??

I just downloaded the latest CVS version a few minutes ago hoping this issue may have been resolved, but it appears it still hasn't. I also inquired about this on this list a month or so ago with no response. Roundcube is basically completely unusable at this point for me. The basic issue is that if an email is replied to by Outlook 2003, Roundcube shows the message to be blank. If the email had previous text quoted, this IS shown, but the latest response (at the top of the page) is blank. Any solutions to this? It only seems to happen coming from Outlook 2003 as HTML. Of course that is how I receive most of my mail and replies. Thanks, Max

Signup Page

Hello. Is it possible to set up a page that when the form is completed, it makes a new email account for use with roundcube? So on the page it would have somthing like; Name: User name: Password: Password 2: Alternative Email: Terms and Conditions box (with tick box) Then it makes a new email account and adds the Name to the settings db in roundcube. Bug validating e-mail address

Hi there! I have been using RoundCube a bit and found a bug regarding validating e-mail addresses. an e-mail address like 'myname(a)c.dk' is not validated as a valid address! I think it's because of the one-letter domain name. It is a valid address, but RoundCube does not like it ;-) Regards Brian

Could it be possible to build a change password feature to the RoundCube? I have users who don't have (or never will have) shell access so this is the single most important feature needed to change my RounCube to my primary webmail. -- Kari Päivärinta

czech localization

Hi folks, there is some kind of problem with the czech localization. I'm using the latest cvs version on freebsd 6. The pages have correct windows-1250 charset in the header, but the content of the page has some weird codes inside, which produce rather cyrillic glyphs. Czech (my) language uses latin characters. Btw, I mean it would be better to switch to utf-8 instead of win-1250 Robert

Posible bug with Content-Transfer-Encoding

Hi there! Just installed the latest version of RoundCube webmail (roundcubemail-cvs-20051216) - nice one! But I think i found a bug regarding attachments and the php mail() function. When using the default settings = using php mail() function to send mail, I got this extra line "Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit" at the top of the mail - but only in Outlook. Thunderbird (and RoundCube) works fine. I tried using my smtp server (localhost) and then all worked fine. The "problem" is only when a mail is sent with an attachment. Regards Brian Christensen

Hi everybody Because our development mailing list was filled up with support requests and configuration questions, we decided to add a separate list for RoundCube USERS and keep the dev-list for discussions about ongoing development. If you have questions about the installation, configuration and use of RoundCube Webmail, please subscribe and post to users(a)lists.roundcube.net and leave the dev-list to the devs... Also there's a complete archive with all posts to the dev-list available now: http://lists.roundcube.net After I had detected excessive sending of mails on the demo site, I shut it down because it has been used to spread spam mails. Now it's updated to the latest CVS version and sending mails is deactivated. You can compose and submit messages but they won't be delivered to the recipients but copied to the Sent folder as usually. Regards, Thomas

Remote sendmail

Hello All, I emailed earlier regarding a problem with Non-standard remote sendmail ports. It turns out that my problem was due to improper server_name detection in program/include/rcube_smtp.inc line 76. I don't know if your CVS file is different than mine. The line is: $helo_host = !empty($_SERVER['server_name']) ? $_SERVER['server_name'] : 'localhost'; My sendmail server disallows localhost for the EHLO command which is what it would have defaulted to. I guess my provider thought it was a good security measure, I'm no expert so I can't argue either way. Anyway, I fixed this by adding: // use this name instead of the local servername for EHLO command $rcmail_config['smtp_server_name'] = 'loeppky.ca'; to the main.inc.php file and by replacing line 76 with: $helo_host = !empty($_SERVER['server_name']) ? $_SERVER['server_name'] : $CONFIG['smtp_server_name']; This of course means that rcmail_config['smtp_server_name'] needs to be defaulted to 'localhost' for normal/default conditions. I'm sure there is probably a better name than 'smtp_server_name' but I figured you would know better what to name it than I. I'm not even sure if this is the right way to fix the problem, but I figured I would pass it on to you and let you decide what you want to do to handle this in your production code. Feature and aesthetic requests

Hi, Sorry to spam you all with so many message in such a short period :) Aesthetic request: Can the "flash" messages which appear at the top of the screen have the image/text centered within them? If this is an easy fix, could someone let me know what/where to change? i've not done a lot of HTML/CSS work otherwise i'd have a go at trying to do this myself :) Feature requests: Can the Reply and Forward functionally be extended so that you can reply or forward many (selected) messages as a single email? This would be especially helpful in forwarding mailing list stuff that someone may be interested in reading, just as a single email rather than many single ones. Pine (my preferred email client) does this rather well by pasting each message in date order one after the other. Would it be possible, via a configuration option, to restrict the domain part of an email address which can be used or modified in an identity? What i'd like is for an error to be given to the user if the domain part of the email address they are trying to use for an identity does not match the domain used when they logged in. For example, my virtual users log in with "user(a)example.tld" username but I don't want them to be able to set up (or modify existing) identities which can have literally any email address - whether they have the right to use that address or not.
