low priority multiple select changes

Hi all, this is a nit in comparisson to much of the work that needs to be done, but 2 things: 1) it is currently possible to select multiple items using the <shift> key, it has always been my understanding that this is a function more commonly accessed with the <ctrl> key - is there a technical limitation on this, or am I just windows-centric? (..begins to smash head against wall..) 2) is it possible to select an entire range of messages using <ctrl>+<shift> - this would be useful for sorting messages that all go in the same folder (e.g. the 40+ messages a day from this listserv) finally, if nobody is opposed to this (this doesn't seem like a plugin to me), I can tackle it with my oh-so-rusty hack javascript skilz. also, thinking about it - this might be skinnable behavior, once the structure was in place. thoughts? j.

More detailed installation instructions?

I'm new to both roundcube and SQL. I'm trying to get roundcube to work with a sqlite database, but when I try to login I get the following errors: DB Error in /home/www/html/roundcubemail/program/include/rcube_db.inc (63): DB Error: no database selected Fatal error: Call to undefined function: query() in /home/www/html/roundcubemail/program/include/rcube_db.inc on line 119 My guess is that I've configured db.inc.php incorrectly. Do more detailed installation instructions (with examples, preferably) exist somewhere? I have been unable to find any helpful documentation for newbies. The installation instructions are a nice general outline, but more details would be really helpful. Thanks. H.S.

Maildir has been running fine on my system for over a year, so I don't thing we were having the same issue. I can log in via IMAP fine using other clients, have no problems there. I like the idea of user-skinnable themes, except when the webmail is embedded in another website (I am currently using roundcube in an iframe) - what about an alternate input to the skin (override) via a URL parameter? That way, users could have saved skins for when they are accessing webmail natively, but if they were in _MY_ world, it would look like my site :P thoughts? j. I upgraded all the PEAR modules and installed PEAR_Frontend_Gtk and PEAR_Frontend_Web as they were suggested for the PEAR upgrade. Yes it's possible just remember you need to modify both common.css and mail.css. common.css handles the background where we can choose a picture instead of a bg color. Wish I had time or I would write it now. They don't actually have to be separate files. Theme Ideas.....

Hey All, I'm going to give it a shot in makin' a couple diffrent themes for this webmail system using the default theme. I just wanted to know if there were anyone that was wanting a certain theme made so I could do it for them. The theme I'm making for my self is more likely going to be a Matrix Theme or Xbox theme which I'm sure isn't the taste of everyone else so give me a theme to make that everyone would like such as Olive Green just like in Thunderbird or Outlook etc... Backgrounds and background color are held within the common.css %s/mail.css/common.css/ if you are looking to modify the background and tables etc... This will change text and list box behaviours. I'd be interested to know if this is fixed in the CVS version already, but I've discovered the problem that I was having with my RoundCube installation (I'm using Courier IMAP, btw). I haven't looked in to why, but the problem is in the set_flag method in rcube_imap. Basically, it looks as though the method for setting a flag is causing Courier (and thus RoundCube) to freeze. I removed the content and did a "return true" and I can now read emails without a problem - but they obviously always show as unread ;) Hope that's of use to someone. My first login is fine, but if I try to open a mail message it hangs. This appears to be in the IMAP server - but I can't confirm that yet. Until the IMAP server (or whatever) times this connection out, I can't use RoundCube for anything except for viewing the login screen and (sometimes) the inbox (cached in MySQL, I'm guessing). Courier support?

Hi, I've installed RoundCube, and works ok, except by the fact it doesn't show the body of the emails. I suspect it can be a problem with the Courier-IMAP server. Actually, the theme and plugin API are seperate. The plugin API, i think, just provides hooks for plugins to execute their functions throughout their programs. The theme api basically consists of xml template tags inbetween xhtml, so I don't think that the plugin api will affect the themes. IMAP-UW - Problems with plaintext login

Are there any know issues with imap-uw? When I attempt to log in I see in my maillog: Oct 14 12:25:59 firewall imapd[60509]: Login user=mikej host=firewall.mikej.com [10.0.0.3] Oct 14 12:25:59 firewall imapd[60509]: Logout user=mikej host=firewall.mikej.com [10.0.0.3] Which tells me that authentication successed... but RoundCube displays "login denied". Select - All / Delete

Hey I notice... I think this should be the first thing they make to add to it since this is pretty important to some people who are hosting email accts on limited spaces. Seems that it might be benefitcal for them to add a select all / or delete all function to the trash can or folder since the typcial user just tends to hit the delete button which lands it in the trash then in order to delete the all from the trash can they'd have to select these emails 1 by 1 in the trash can and hit the delete button then select the next email.... hehe just a lil bug i guess... But still I would like to see this webmail package grow! Is there already a delete all function in this webmail package that I missed?? Cheers! Jason

setup/login problems....

i'm a brand new user so bear with me please. i just downlaoded and "installed" roundcube, epr teh directions in the INSTALL file. however, when i go to login, the page just sits there, attempting to load and never does. (i click "login", in the status bar it says contacting whatever.host.com, and just sits there). roundcube is running on the same box as the mailserver/imap (which is psotfix/dovecot if it makes a diffrence). i connect normally with ssl, so in the config file i have : ssl://localhost:993 for teh default host. am i missing anything? are there any apache config changes i should have to make? i am testing this from an OSX box runnign safari right now, but the same happened last night with firefox on linux, so i doubt its that. thanks. matt nicholson sjoeboo(a)sjoeboo.com

hi all- just found this project on freshmeat and thought i'd give it a go since SquirrelMail is starting to look a bit dated ( tho it works like a charm ). wasn't sure how to search the list archives, so apologies if this has been covered, but can i connect to my IMAP server via STARTTLS? "ssl://server:993" obviously isn't doing the trick in the config file. thanks in advance, the app looks really terrific ( the screenshots, at least! ) cheers, darren david

Large Install

How well suited is RoundCube to an install w/ about 700,000 mailboxes on Courier-IMAP. The load will be somewhere between 800 and 2500 users at any given time using the system (150-350 views/s on apache, 200qps on mysql avg). SquirrelMail is the current client, pretty light and fast, and it's IMAP routines are amazing when you have high load. I know RC uses IlohaMail as its IMAP provider, but when we tried Iloha it did not perform well under load. Has anybody attempted such a large setup with RoundCube before? I'm shopping around for a new webmail client due to the nearly unskinnable nature of SquirrelMail. The users keep blabbering about making webmail look nice, or something crazy like that. -- Christopher A.
