Configure Enigma plugin with ie11 shows no output in window

Hello, I got enigma plugin going. I atempted via ie11 on win10 x64 to configure the enigma plugin. I went to settings, > preferences, > and atempted to access encryption. It showed a blank output window. I went in to chrome latest I believe did the same thing and got options I could configure. Is there a roundcube/ie11 issue with content display? A side note on chrome after setting the encryption and identity options I was able to generate and associate a gpg key with my account. Any info on the ie11 issue appreciated. Thanks. Dave.

How to create a new letter by url?

Hi! I would like to be able to immediately enter the RoundCube in the mode of creating a new letter by url from another application. Some fields, such as "from", "to" and "body" of the created letter must be initially filled with the data transmitted in the request. Since the volume of this data can be significant, it is advisable to use the POST method. However, if only the GET method is available, I will find another way to pass the information. In other words, I want to be able to create a link such as https://rcmail.a.b/newletter?from=a@b.c&to=d@e.f&body=Hello! in another application; when clicking on it, the user would open a window for creating a new letter in RC with partially filled content. For this illustration, I use a more visual GET method, but of course POST is desirable. Is it possible to do this in principle without reworking the RC thorough and what means are there for it? Collected recipients and senders

In Roundcube we automatically collect email addresses. Some plugins exist that do this. I think it would be good to finally move the functionality into core and fix some related issues. As collecting senders and recipients is related let's consider this together. 1. Collected recipients. Recipient email addresses (and names) collected (automatically) when sending an email. We'll make it optional, i.e. when disabled we'll not collect addresses nor display the addressbook. I guess we'll have to have an option to use existing addressbook instead of the special one. So, it would be a single option: "Automatically add outgoing email addresses to": none/collected recipients/list of writable addressbooks for selection. I'm not sure we should consider checking an address existence in all writable or all other addressbooks, but I would like to not add an option for this. Let's check only the above configured addressbook + all writable addressbooks. Maybe provide a plugin api hook to modify the list (e.g. Kolab may choose to check all user personal addressbooks). 2. Collected senders. Email addresses of senders collected when using "Always allow from..." link/button. This addressbook will be displayed/used only when "Allow remote resources from known senders" is set. I guess we'll have to have an option to use existing addressbook instead of the special one. So, it would be a single option: "Store safe senders in": collected senders/list of writable addressbooks for selection. So, when we check if the html message is safe we look for an address in the configured addressbook. I'm not sure we should consider only the special addressbook, all writable addressbooks or all existing, but I would like to not add an option for this. Let's check the configuread addressbook + all writable addressbooks. And provide a plugin api hook to modify the list. I'm not sure about the name, maybe it should be "Safe senders"? I'm also not sure about the wording for these new options above. 3. "My contacts". We have an option "On request for return receipt send receipt to my contacts...". I think both above addressbooks should be considered as "my contacts" in this context. I don't like to add another option. The list could be modified by a plugin if needed. 4. Autocompletion. I think both above addressbooks should be used for autocompletion. I'm not sure it have to be configurable via 'autocomplete_addressbooks' option. Of course, these entries should have lower prio than entries from other addressbooks. ---------------- Both these addressbooks will use the same new database table. The table will contain columns: id, user_id, source_id, email, name. I think we should allow only a single email address per record. For both sources we'll allow only entries deletion. No editing. No groups. elastic bug on flagging

Roundcube Webmail 1.4 RC1 released

Dear subscribers We just published a first release candidate for the next major version 1.4 which has now been in development for quite a while. Although the new responsive Elastic skin is now functional and feature complete, it still lacks the final brush-up to make it shine. We have now finally found a volunteer to work on this and once completed, a second release candidate will follow. For now you’re all invited to give the new 1.4 version another test run. Besides the responsive theme it comes with lots of new features and improvements since the beta release. Check the Changelog [1] for a complete list of changes. Please also try customizing the Elastic skin using the _styles.less and _variables.less files and let us know what’s missing. You’ll find guidance in the README.md file inside the skin folder. Because we don’t yet consider the Elastic theme fully complete, it’s not set to be the default theme. Adjust your config in order to enable it with $config['skin'] = 'elastic'; This is a beta release and we recommend to test it on a separate environment. Roundcube should include CalDAV / CardDav client in its core functionality

Hello all, I know there are many calendar and contact plugins for Roundcube, some of them offering CalDAV and CardDAV client or server functionalities. However, they not stable, not integrate well with mail functionalities or with the interface. Lets say presenting options to accept or refuse an invitation sent by email. I don't even mention support for the advanced features that some CalDAV and CardDAV servers are providing, for instance the excellent Davical. Moreover, some of them are coming with their own CalDAV or CardDav server, which I think is non-sense. Roundcube is a webmail client. It does do only one thing, but does it well. It does not come with a mail server feature... Is there any planning to add a nice and well integrated calendar feature on Roundcube? What about adding a CardDAV client for the address book as well. Using the LDAP address book in Roundcube is already great, it would be nice to have CardDAV integrated as well. Thanks to consider this! Folder List Refresh

Hi List, I recently came across an issue with the way RC handles the folder (mailbox) list. It only draws it when the page itself is loaded. And while the list gets updated for changed number of unread mails / trash stuff, it never gets reloaded as a whole inbetween. I would consider this an issue in case two clients (even two RCs) operate on the same mailbox, which is quite common for our users. In this case new folders created in another client do not show up in RC until the whole page is reloaded by selecting a task that reloads the UI. Right now it's even necessary to invalidate the cache if active. (But that should be an easy fix.) I would like to see the folder list being refreshed whenever the list of mails itself is refreshed. Since getting the folder list from the server is not expensive and as far as I could see trivially patched into the refresh handling in RC, it comes down to changing the mailbox list display from HTML fragment to JSON/Javascript command. As far as I saw nobody is or was working on this, so I would like to do it myself. But bevor I start working on it I would appreciate any input on this idea. Thanks Tim

managesieve and 'editheader' extension

Hi, I did ask that in the RCU list already, but as there was no response, I try it here again: We just moved all domains and mail accounts to another hoster, and I managed to convince the new hoster to install the 'editheader' sieve extension (RFC 5293), as we definitely need it. It's not a problem to amend the 'addheader' commands manually to the filter set (as the managesieve plugin for RC doesn't offer any options for it yet). But it is a sort of problem that all 'addheader' commands are being removed if any rule is changed and saved through the frontend of the plugin (except if editing the filter set manually, of course). Is there any way to avoid this...? And/or are there any plans to implement the commands of the 'editheader' extension? I did have a look into the code already, but I have no real clue of PHP. Would it be sufficient to just amend 'addheader' to this array in rcube_sieve_script.php (just to avoid that it is being removed upon saving a rule through the frontend, not to really support it in the UI): > private $supported = array( // supported Sieve extensions: > 'body', // RFC5173 > 'copy', // RFC3894 > [... etc. ...] Furthermore, we'd like to use 'address :is' and 'address :matches' with non-standard headers such as "X-Envelope-To" and "X-Sieve-Redirected-From". With this milestone we introduce some new features: * New responsive skin with mobile support * Email Resent (Bounce) feature * Improved Mailvelope integration * Support for Redis cache * Support for SMTPUTF8 See the full changelog in the release notes on the Github download page [1]. Thanks to the tremendous effort Alec has put into the new skin, we finally managed solve the most urgent issue and make Roundcube accessible to the growing number of mobile and tablet devices. We'd also like to thank Kolab Systems for sponsoring some of Alec's working hours to the project. Because the new responsive skin is not yet fully completed, it’s not enabled by default. In order to make it the default for your users, change your config.inc.php accordingly: $config['skin'] = 'elastic'; As an alternative, the plugin elastic4mobile [2] makes it the default for mobile devices while keeping the configured default for desktop browsers. The Elastic skin is built with LESS and of course the sources are included. They allow a certain degree of customization by adjusting some color variables [3]. All you need is to compile your very own customized skin with lessc. This is a beta release and we recommend to test it on a separate environment. Problem with mixed charsets

Unfortunately, I was inaccurate and used not quite correct ways of saving the attached file. That is, if I saved the attachment with RC menu, everything works correctly. But if I tried to view the attachment or save it by browser command, then the embedded html file is displayed and stored incorrectly. The Hex codes of ciryllic leters are different when I saved them with RC and browser commands. The fact that the RC command "save" is output as D0 A1 D0 BE D1 81 , when saved by the browser (and, probably, when displayed) has the value D0 A0 D0 8E D0 A0. Hello! We are using RC 1.1.4. I understand that this is an old version, and it is not supported. I ask you to see my questions at the end of the letter. A problem was detected with Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) reports. The old version of the SEP generated reports in the form of letters with an attached file, and the attached file was supplied in a base64 coding. This worked fine. The new version forms reports in the form of a multipart letter with directly included HTML code. In this case, for the letter as a whole, the charset is not specified. Also, the RC shows that there is an attached file of type xml. However, the RC does not correctly save this attached file and, as a consequence, incorrectly opens it. First, the size of saved file is about a quarter less than the attached one. Secondly, in content, it sharply differs from the same file saved from the same letter with the help of Thunderbird. Questions: 1. Was such a mistake detected and corrected in the later versions of the RC? 2. Is there any reason to consider the report formed by the SEP as incorrectly formed? 3. Hi, I was thinking that with the work on Elastic progressing it might also be a good idea to refresh the roundcube.net website and make it responsive. As an initial step I have created https://johndoh.github.io/. I have made very little changes to the actual content. Two things I have done are remove references to Sourceforge and added Plugins to the nav bar. I have used Bootstrap to make the existing content responsive. As I said, this is an initial draft. I am not a graphic designer. And I have not bothered to make new screenshots. Before spending too much time on it I thought I'd share my idea and see what people think. Identities can't be edited in git-master anymore

Hello, see subject - identities can't be edited in git-master anymore (Classic skin, presumably due to the latest commits). What about the Elastic skin, BTW - should it work, what should I see? Currently I'm seeing (more or less) text only, and it was pretty difficult to return to the Classic skin (plus that some settings were gone, e.g. the layout). Security Update 1.3.6 released

It primarily fixes a recently reported IMAP command injection vulnerability caused by insufficient input validation within the archive plugin. Details about the vulnerability are published under CVE-2018-9846. Additionally, we back-ported some minor fixes from the master branch which improve PHP 7.2 compatibility as well as PGP signing and key handling for those who use the Enigma plugin. Internationalised email addresses

Hello, In the internationalisation features, I see "IDNA support" in the list. However, does Roundcube support internationalised email addresses, like for instance, andré(a)homebox.space? I tried with version 1.2 and the front-end interface does not even let me press the send button, and displays an error. I have not seen this in the changelog for version 1.3. Is it on the roadmap? Roundcube Webmail 1.3.5 released

Roundcube and AppArmor on Debian

Hello everyone, I successfully managed to have Roundcube working with nginx and a proper AppArmor profile. Now, I don't think PHP is included yet into the AppArmor profile, this might be tricker. Anyone has done this successfully before, or should I start from scratch? Thanks for your links and your opinions. I am using php-fpm. Roundcube, password plugin, and mysql

Hello, I'm not sure if this issue is a bug. I've asked on the users list and don't believe there's anyone on it, i've got no list traffic. I use Roundcube 1.3.4 on a FreeBSD system. I use postfix which gets it's authentication from dovecot imap server and goes to a MySQL database. I am now wanting to get roundcube's password plugin to be able to change a users password. In the password plugin configuration file I had this originally: update virtual_users set password=CONCAT('{SHA512-CRYPT}', ENCRYPT (%p, CONCAT('$6$', SUBSTRING(SHA(RAND()), -16)))) WHERE user=%u; This didn't work nor did it return any debug information. I then went in to MySQL directly and did this: update virtual_users set password=CONCAT('{SHA512-CRYPT}', ENCRYPT ('PasswordGoesHere', CONCAT('$6$', SUBSTRING(SHA(RAND()), -16)))) WHERE user='Username goes here'; Directly at the MySQL prompt this worked replaced user and password with values and it got returned correctly. I then did this with %p and %u as it appeared that not having them quoted was causing an error. Through none of this am I getting any kind of debug or log output: update virtual_users set password=CONCAT('{SHA512-CRYPT}', ENCRYPT ('%p', CONCAT('$6$', SUBSTRING(SHA(RAND()), -16)))) WHERE user='%u'; I try to change the password and I get brought back to the same screen, no errors on the screen and nothing in a log, the password does not get changed. Any suggestions or ways I can get some logging information? Also, when doing the change at the MySQL prompt I got a warning, doing a show warnings revealed error 1287 that the ENCRYPT function is deprecated and to use AES_ENCRYPT instead. I tried replacing ENCRYPT with AES_ENCRYPT and that didn't work. I've got debug and sql and imap debug all enabled. Code modification for a personal implementation or a Plugin?

People, Years ago I posted on a suggested improvement list somewhere to have an option to only list folders with unread messages (I have hundreds of folders and it that option would greatly reduce the necessary scrolling) but it never got implemented - I guess because it never became a priority for scarce development resources. While I would still like that previously suggested upgrade, I have another upgrade which might be more amenable to me having a shot it doing the work myself. I think it is probably a minor tweak so I could just apply it to new, major versions of the code as they are released. However, if what I wanted to do could be done as a Plugin, I would be interested in trying that route as well. What I would like is, since there is already the facility to highlight newly arrived mails in blue - to modify this facility a little so that ANY mails that are less than 24 hours old are highlighted in blue. This would be useful for when I have had to exit out of RCM and reload it for some reason - currently all the blue highlighted mails lose the highlight on re-opening RCM. If someone could point me to the place in the code where I could do this myself or how suggest I could do this as a plugin, I would greatly appreciate it! Elastic skin ready for testing

Yesterday I merged the separate repository we had for Elastic code with the main Roundcube repository. You might notice ~530 new commits. So, the skin is now official. We're not yet ready for the beta release though. I think it will happen somewhere in the end of Q2. But if you're a plugin author it's time to start working on the new skin support. There are still things that may change according to the feedback we collected at https://github.com/roundcube/elastic/issues and https://git.kolab.org/tag/ux_seminar_ws17/. ps. it uses Less, so it does not work out of the box. cookie issue with contacts plugin and google analytics

i've had a strange bug happening with a couple users in our environment that i finally managed to track down. before i submit a patch, i'd like to hear opinions about the best way to do so. the problem essentially boils down to overly permissive google analytics(GA) cookies that some of our customers and end users are using. in some cases, GA hands out a cookie named _gid - that cookie can cause problems with roundcube if it's sent along as part of the request for retrieving contacts on the compose page. if you are using a custom contacts souce (as is the case with a contacts plugin, ie the carddav one) in program/steps/mail/list_contacts.inc this block is evaluated: if ($group_id = rcube_utils::get_input_value('_gid', rcube_utils::INPUT_GPC)) { $CONTACTS->set_group($group_id); } the request comes in from a GET, but rcube_utils::INPUT_GPC causes rcube_utils::get_input_value() to also consider cookies. if the GA _gid cookie is present, things fall apart (as the value of the cookie does not correspond to an existing group) and no contacts are returned. the simplest fix would be to switch rcube_utils::INPUT_GPC to rcube_utils::INPUT_GET so that roundcube would not consider the cookie. but, there could be some historical use case where the cookie needs to be considered? as an alternate, list_contacts.inc could try and validate the content of the $group_id that is returned and skip setting it if it doesn't seem reasonable. it would seem a little ugly to specifically check for a google specific cookie in the code, so it seems like the INPUT_GET change would be better... but i don't know if that would break other plugins. thoughts?

In our Roundcube (GIT-Master) Installation we can only attach up to 5 MebiByte Attachments. In the past (and in our 1.2.x RC-Installation) we can attach up to 128 MebiByte. We had already set the limits upload_max_filesize post_max_size memory_limit in the PHP.INI to 128M and comment out this in .htaccess. What can we do? Roundcube Docker image

Hello devs and list lurkers Upon common request [1] and a pull request from @J0WI we now published a Docker image for Roundcube webmail: https://hub.docker.com/r/roundcube/roundcubemail/ It's meant to be configured with the described env variables and ready for serving the webmail without first running through the installer. So far the configuration options are limited but it's a start. Before we now apply for an official image, I'd like your feedback and suggestions what other configuration options would be worth to be supported, especially when considering to use the docker image for production environments, too. So please give it a try and check the Dockerfile and entrypoint [2] for suggestions. Security updates 1.3.3, 1.2.7 and 1.1.10 released

Dear subscribers We just published updates to all stable versions from 1.1.x onwards delivering fixes for a recently discovered file disclosure vulnerability in Roundcube Webmail. Apparently this zero-day exploit is already being used by hackers to read Roundcube’s configuration files. It requires a valid username/password as the exploit only works with a valid session. More details will be published soon under CVE-2017-16651. The Roundcube series 1.0.x is not affected by this vulnerability but we nevertheless back-ported the fix in order to protect from yet unknown exploits. Elastic skin - need a designer

However, John is not available to finish that in a reasonable time. And because I'm not good in graphic design, colors, typography, etc. I'd like to ask if there's maybe anyone who would like to help? While a lot has been done and I'm close to have most of functionality (including core plugins) finished, there are still some small things to do, like some widgets or form elements. These I could do probably on my own in a few months. However, I need a designer to help me polish the skin. So, more of a graphic not UX designer. keyboard_shortcuts plugin conflicting with enigma

Hi, I found that the keyboard_shortcuts plugin is conflicting with enigma plugin. When I open a pgp encrypted mail, a popup appears requesting the password to unlock the private key. All characters typed in this popup are interpreted by keyboard_shortcuts. If the password contains an 'r', this immediately triggers a reply. I disabled the keyboard_shortcut plugin to make enigma working. Jochen

Roundcube Webmail Update 1.3.1 released

Dear subscribers We just published the first service release to update the stable version 1.3 which is the result of some touching-up on the new features introduced with the 1.3.0 release. For example it brings back the double-click behavior to open messages which was reduced to the list-only view. Or because the switch to change the mail view layout was a bit hidden, we also added it to the preferences section. The update also includes fixes to reported bugs and one potential XSS vulnerability as well as optimizations to smoothly run on the latest version of PHP. SMTP configuration could be simpler

It looks that SMTP connection configuration in Roundcube is not as simple as it could be. Can we make it more straightforward? I propose to: 1. Remove smtp_user and smtp_pass options and act as they would be set to %u and %p accordingly. Their modification could still be possible via plugin API. 2. Set the default smtp_port to 587. enigma issue

Hello, I upgraded from Jessie to Stretch and enigma stopped working. In the logs, I find this: <rbagc7rr> PHP Error: Enigma plugin: Unknown error getting keys. Please use the 'debug' option when creating the Crypt_GPG object, and file a bug report at http://pear.php.net/bugs/report.php?package=Crypt_GPG When I try to list the keys in the settings, it says "Unable to read keys". I updated Crypt_GPG to 1.6.0 to no avail. When I try to read en encrypted mail, it says:"Decryption failed. Private key not found". I gave full permissions to the gpg files, as it seems a read problem, but it still cannot read anything. I used the debug setting in config.inc.php.dist, and no additional info is found in the logs. How to query IMAP Flag from within a plugin?

Hi We use the (slightly enhanced) report_junk plug-in to feed customer spam reports to our spamfilter learning and blacklisting infrastructure. Reports from customer do also get processed to an automated ARF message being sent to the abuse contact of the sender ISP. If a customer reports an email as spam, the appropriate JUNK imap flag is set. $rcmail->imap->unset_flag($uids, 'NONJUNK'); $rcmail->imap->set_flag($uids, 'JUNK'); Now unfortunately these flags are not being checked before a customer hits 'report as spam', thus allowing a customer to report the same email multiple times. While multiple customers sending emails about the same spam source resulting in multiple complaints to the ISP of the sender is desired and hopefully helps the ISP to decide if his customer is sending spam, it is not desired, that a customer does report the same email again and again.
