[RoundCube Subject?] or not to Subject, that is the question.

Bob's list software allowed users to have [RoundCube ..] prepended to the subject. So does mine, but Bob's is better in so far that this is a per-user setting. The software I am using, is .. global to all members on a given list. Given that: Please reply to me privately with which list(s) you're on and your opinion on whether to prepend the subject with [RoundCube ..] or not. Initial setting is off per common consensus of the moderators - but really, this is your list. I'll evaluate the replies I get, and, if appropriate, make the neccesary changes. Before you reply: Consider what your mail client can do for you. For spam reasons, only people who are subscribed, can post. Sorry! This makes a *huge* difference on mailing list hosting, particularly for the moderators and list operator (me). You are more than welcome to subscribe more than once - and, if desired, set your options to "no mail" mode. Speaking of options, http://lists.roundcube.net/mailman/listinfo/dev http://lists.roundcube.net/mailman/listinfo/users http://lists.roundcube.net/mailman/listinfo/announce Scroll to the bottom field, enter your email address, hit the "Unsubscribe or edit options" button. Your password, if you had one previously, is different now. The options page can mail you your new password. I have not yet earned your trust, so it would have been inappriate for Bob to send me whatever passwords you had. You are welcome to change your password (again, above urls). In case you forget the url - look at the bottom of any post. You'll find the url for that specific list. Other changes: Posting attachments - The attachments will be "detached" and replaced by a url; the attachments will be web accessible. Sending attachments can get expensive. This way, only those interested in seeing the picture will burn up bandwidth fetching it. Likewise, those NOT interested, don't have to download it. An example is in this post. Archives - http://lists.roundcube.net has links. The urls for old links will have changed - there was no way to reliably keep them identical. Anyone who clicks a link to the old urls will be taken to the top level page. The archives now have a search feature. I know it's still yound buggy and lacking features but it appears to be heading in the right direction and I already am waiting to put it in production.

Hi all, I am working on an addition to Roundcube which will add links allowing the user to train an e-mail (or several e-mails) as SPAM or NOT-SPAM in our CRM114 system. I was wondering if anyone else has done anything similar (either with spam training, or just adding actions to Roundcube) and had any advice. Hello all. I hope this is the appropriate place to bring this up. I am a RoundCube user, PHP developer, and one of the co-founders of the GoPHP5 effort. By now you have probably heard about GoPHP5. (If not, please see http://GoPHP5.org/ for more about it.) I also recall reading recently that RoundCube was considering a move to PHP 5 already. I suppose it shouldn't come as a surprise that I would be very happy if that were true. :-) In just the few short days that GoPHP5 has been "live", we've grown to over 20 projects and over 40 supporting web hosts. The PHP development team is also considering dropping support for PHP 4 next year. Please consider this a formal invitation for RoundCube to join GoPHP5. Hi! I found the solution to http://trac.roundcube.net/trac.cgi/ticket/1484094 but I dont know how to post the solution there... (the tracker currently also seems to be down...) the cause is a corrupted program/localization/de_DE/messages.inc file. even my editor (scite, vim) does not show the corruption, but if you look at the file with a hex editor you will see 3 extra byte at the beginning. they destroy the attachments. Using the latest Downloadable SVN release ... I enter the username and password .. And the browser just times out there .. In the MySQL Database, the Last login time is updated .. but the user is never logged in ... This happened after what was supposed to be routine 10 minutes downtime while moving to out new server-room. Needles to say, things didn't go as planed. Apparently the Linux ext3 file system does not handle large folders all that well, and I had one with at least a million files in it. This pissed off fsck.ext3 to the point where it started to move these files to lost+found. Long story short, I no longer trust that machine (or any machine with an ext3 file system on it) to do any important work, and one of it's most important tasks is the RC mailing lists and archive. So; as I don't really have the time to do mailing list maintenances these days, I'd like to ask for someone to take over the running/hosting of our lists. The 3 lists require very little resources to run. Some stats: announce(a)lists.roundcube.net: - 1958 subscribers - 1 to 2 messages/month dev(a)lists.roundcube.net: - 629 subscribers - 5 to 15 messages/day users(a)lists.roundcube.net: - 474 subscribers - 3 to 10 messages/day Anyone interested please get back to me as soon as possible. Please also include a short introduction detailing your experience with e-mail systems in general and mailing lists in particular. Hi All!!! I'm not sure who maintains the trac site, or who maintains the server that roundcube is on; however, if you can use Mod_Security from www.modescurity.org I'd suggest it. As of today, there's a project called "ScallyWack" which is a set of rules for mod_security that is for Trac Spam ;) Something worth looking into. http://www.modsecurity.org/blog/archives/2007/06/scalywack_modse.html There seems to be a small pitfall. I'm trying to get SVN working on my server with mod_security installed, but hitting a few bumps with it catching the PROP* and other REQUEST_METHODs. Not sure if it's my mod_security config, or I'm just not noticing something. Anyway.... it's just a suggestion so we can get our Trac back!! ~Brett

Patch to indicate RSS support to the browser & multiple accounts support

I noticed that although RSS support has been added to RoundCube there isn't any link to it. Could some-one please commit the patch below? This is also a notification that I will probably be working on supporting multiple accounts in RoundCube somewhere in the near future. It would be great if anyone has some pointers on how to start. 'session' table character set shoud be UTF-8 at MySQL 5

Hello. This is my first post to this mailling list. My name is Yoshikazu, I'm Japanese. I found some problems for multi-bytes character enviroment like Japanese. One problem may happened only with MySQL 5. If an attached file name contains multi-bytes character in UTF-8, that file name will covert to question mark. (ex. "????????????.jpg") This is caused by that 'session' table character set was ASCII. MySQL 5 convert UTF-8 session.vars to ASCII when the attached file name was stored in session. So, I think 'session' table character set shoud be UTF-8. I have already succeeded. Focus on Save

Hey Guys, Is it possible to change a setting anywhere that stops the focus on draft save happening? It is quite annoying that when I am in another program or website entering data (such as our CRM) and RoundCube feels it necessary to pop up, disrupting what I was doing and generally being a pain! Hi, I'm new to RC and I've just set it on my webserver. I tried it some months ago and I am glad to see that it is better each month. Well, if I use RC (the last release) with some account I have an error but no more information : where should I have more information to kenow what's wrong with it? The server adress is fine : pop.orange.fr and the login/passwd are both the one that works fine with my MUA so I don't understand... For some others mail account (imap I think) I log in and then see a lonely folder : inbox with no trash, no send no junk & co. I found that http://trac.roundcube.net/trac.cgi/wiki/Howto_Config where some solutions are proposed : none works for me :-\ So I have an error message each time I send a message with it (but it send it), and I can't delete any mail :-( Do you have any suggestions for me to solve this problems? -- Philippe

Macedonian Translation?

I would like to point out that the proper name (according to many international organisations UN etc) for "Macedonia" is FYROM. I believe that that name is proper as the other term is politically and emotionally charged and will offend a many number of Greek and Greek-descended users. Vrieling suggested and it seems it is working just fine. html editor new line

Is there a configuration setting that changes the html editor's html generation so that it uses tags instead of tags for new lines? I guess this is a tinyMCE related problem and it might not be addressable here. I find it a little annoying that pressing enter spreads things out so much. I have been using plain text as my default because of that. Other than that one issue, I very much enjoy using roundcube, and I want to take the moment to thank all the developers for contributing. Fix hanging logging

Hello, We use Rouncube with an IMAP Proxy (nginx). nginx does not nicely handle bad username and password, on bad username and password, it returns an IMAP internal server error and terminate the session. This patch allows rouncube to not wait for the timeout and report the bad logging. Certain users cannot log in ..

We have set up a server with the latest download version of roundcube. However, whereas MOST users can log in, there are some that just get "Login Incorrect" - even though the user/pass is definitely right (tested). Any ideas where to start looking ? I have turned up the logging level to max, but there are no errors logged .... Integration with other services

Hi Guys, I apologise if this should be sent to the users list, but I wasn't 100% sure. What I want to do is have RoundCube sync with my custom PHP application also hosted on the same server. Both have separate MySQL databases, but are on the same local machine. I was curious if anyone had found a way to transfer contacts from one database to the other. I am hosted on Dreamhost, so I do have the ability to run cron jobs, say every hour or so. The reason I ask is that I see roundcube created a vcard file so I want to ensure that anything I add is correctly included in the system so my users just see everyone in roundcube as well as in our CRM system. On a related note, are there any other fields being added to the contact form in roundcube? Odd search behaviour when in SENT folder

I am using Roundcube RC1 on Linux using PHP 5.1.6. Problem: When I perform a search in the SENT folder, the search never queries against the TO: field of the email. It only does the FROM: and SUBJECT: fields. This is not right. I peeked at the code in /program/steps/mail/search.inc and it seems like the default search criteria (when a specific criteria is not specified, I guess) is to only search the SUBJECT and the FROM fields: // search in subject and sender by default else { $subject = array("HEADER SUBJECT", "HEADER FROM"); $search = trim($str); } This makes perfect sense when the folder is *not* the SENT folder, but hampers searching within the SENT folder itself. I am not familiar enough with the Roundcube code, but I would think a fix would be to add an additional conditional such that if the folder being search is the SENT folder, change the default search criteria to search the TO: and not the FROM:. Someone want to validate my analysis? Comment on my theory? Provide a patch? A snippet of code, per chance? Thanks. ..Bruce

Bug Report : Bad decrement of read message indicators

Hello, I was reported the following bug from a user. We are running the svn head (today): In an Inbox of 2 read messages and 2 unread messages (i.e. 4 in total), the Inbox count in the 'Folders' panel reads (2), and also in the Title bar of the browser. This is, of course, expected behaviour. However, when I select one of the _already_read_ messages, the number - in both places - decreases as if I had clicked one of the unread messages! Spell checking issue when switching between Plain text and HTML editing

The "Check spelling" GoogieSpell works fine with Plain text editing, but when switching to HTML editing should the "Check spelling" not be removed, so that it is the "spell checking" in TinyMCE the user will use? If I use the "Check spelling" GoogieSpell in HTML editing it corrupts the TinyMCE and creates two iframes, but switching back to Plain text and then back to HTML editing the error is temporarily solved (until the use of "Check spelling" GoogieSpell) I have searched for a Ticked but not found a exact one.
