Sorry about that, I sent the last message before I was done editing it. I guess all I have left to say is that I can regularly reproduce the problem by sending the following text from my Gmail account (in HTML) to my home email address: You'd be amazed what happens to me when you're not with me! I woke up this morning with 8 minutes until the bus came, and I would have made it had the bus been on time. But no, the bus was 2 minutes early, so I missed it and had to take the next one. It was okay because I've already worked extra time this week, so it evens out. Compose HTML emails is turned off in Personal Settings, so when I hit reply I'm replying in plain text. When I reply to the above message one of the lines is exactly equal to 75 characters, and on that line the last word is knocked down to its own line, so that it looks like this: morning with 8 minutes until the bus came, and I would have made it had the bus been on time. But no, the bus was 2 minutes early, so I missed it I hope in some small way I've contributed. Thanks for your time and sorry if I've gone about this the wrong way. Thanks, Doug

Hi all, Some time ago I wrote to the list and reported a bug with regards to how quoted text was wrapping when the original email was HTML and the reply was in plain text (http://trac.roundcube.net/trac.cgi/ticket/1484141). With further investigation I discovered that this only seemed to happen when the line being wrapped was exactly equal to the maximum line length (75 characters, in compose.inc ($body = wordwrap($body, 75);)). To reproduce the I am *not* a programmer, so I know I'm not going to be able to do this the right way, but I do have Ilohamail kicking around and was able to look at how they do line wrapping, use their functions and get Roundcube wrapping HTML quoted text properly in plain text. I'm not sure how to contribute this because I know I've *totally* done this wrong, but I'm hoping someone can see what I've done, do it the right way and get it in SVN. Login form addition

RC build 503, Opera 9.10, Linux 2.6.17: When using Reply or Reply all, original message is not quoted anymore, after checking out revision 503 of RC. Forward will still quote. Can anyone confirm whether this is a bug, or if it's just me? Regards, Steffen

I used a generic config file for our hosts to read in the default domain portion automatically. However this lead to a fun time of getting \n characters in the domain added to the database. HTML email problem?

I'm trying to test out sending an html email to myself using mutt, but it isn't showing up correctly in RC, at least it isn't what I would expect. Below is the source of the message. When I open it in roundcube the link "asdf" is colored blue, but I can't click on it. It appears to just be colored text. Is something wrong here? Thanks, Jason

Bug with non-ASCII mailboxes' names

Hi! Whenever a mailbox has some non-ASCII characters encoded in UTF-7, it then contains an ampersand, which should be encoded each time it's used in URL. There are some variables both in PHP and JS code, that are used literally, which causes some failures when dealing with such mailboxes, especially when trying to get an attachment. Another issue, which I found while debugging the abovementioned issue, is that given a wrong mail part number with the _part parameter, RC returns an invalid, zero-length, message with MIME type set to '/' (yes, with both major and minor types empty). Well, the source code seems to suggest, that RC was supposed to return "HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found", but due to a semicolon right after an 'if' condition, it always tries to return the message part, thus never reaching the 404 code. Strange as it may seem, PHP did not raise any syntax error. I hope I made myself clear enough :] So, here is the diff to RC rev 511, which unfortunately, besides fixes to these bugs, contains some other bugfix along with some feature improvements, which I described in http://lists.roundcube.net/mail-archive/roundcube.dev/2007/02/53/ but which didn't get into the repository :] It's just because I keep all my changes in a local copy of the repo. And there are some translation fixes too, it would be nice if you could change that as well, as the present translation is a bit misleading. Addressbook Global Contacts

Hi All I've recently converted over to RC and use it alongside a CRM i develop. My users biggest gripe was the lack of a global address book. After a quick 5 minute hack got one working by changing a few queries. For all the files in 'program/steps/addressbook/' i changed the queries like: $DB->query("SELECT * FROM ".get_table_name('contacts')." WHERE contact_id=? AND user_id=? AND del<>1", $cid, $_SESSION['user_id']); With a slightly different one such as: $DB->query("SELECT * FROM ".get_table_name('contacts')." WHERE contact_id=? AND (user_id=? OR user_id='0') AND del<>1", $cid, $_SESSION['user_id']); I haven't worked out how to change the UI yet, but i'm sure it isn't hard. A feature like this would be a nice addition in the next release. NOTE: Contacts are currently inserted/updated by an automated script that sets the user_id field to 0. Cheers, Dan

des.inc is not "free"

Hi ! We are packaging RoundCube for Debian and we have found that des.inc does not have any license. This makes RoundCube non-free. I have contacted the author of des.inc (Paul Tero) but I did not get an answer. To package it in Debian, we have applied the attached patch that uses libmcrypt instead of des.inc. des.inc claims to use Triple-DES but it seems that this is not the case. We don't get the same results with libmcrypt. I have tried with OpenSSL as well and the result does not match either (but it matches the result of libmcrypt). This is another argument to use libmcrypt instead of des.inc. The incompatibility means that users need to disconnect and reconnect after upgrade. This is a pretty minor issue. Please, could you apply this patch on RoundCube as well ? -- BOFH excuse #234: Someone is broadcasting pigmy packets and the router dosn't know how to deal with them.

Open mail in new window

This is probably the wrong list but regardless... Does anyone think an "Open mail in new window" button would be handy? A client of ours requested this feature which I implemented rather easily in app.js. This kind of goes against the general design of RoundCube though, and to be honest I couldn't understand their use case. Here is the function I wrote which simply hooks in like the rest of the buttons on the mail page. Hi, Since changeset 454 (http://trac.roundcube.net/trac.cgi/changeset/454#file0), I am experiencing that mails sent from roundcube have the Subject header encoded as 8bit instead of as quoted printables (which is not according to the standard). My question is, why was the $headers_enc['Subject'] replaced with $headers['Subject'] in that changeset? was it just by misstake? Thanks! -- Gustav Broberg

Hi, I've joined the dev list because I really really want gmail-like conversations in RoundCube. I use all my personal emails forwarded to gmail service because I like the gmail's webmail. Session Timeout

I have the session timeout set for 90 minutes. Some of our users go to compose an email and in less than 10 minutes, sometimes only 1 minute into the compose, it times them out and logs them off, without saving any part of their message. We're using version 0.1-beta2, the latest stable one. Does anyone know how to fix this? Hi all I've just created a repository for mail messages that should be tested with RoundCube. Test messages can be uploaded either from a file or by copying the complete message source to the text field. http://testing.roundcube.net All testers and developers please drop me a (private) message in order to receive the FTP access information to download the testing messages. You can then import them to your IMAP accounts and test them with your local IMAP/RoundCube installation. Any comments? ~Thomas

Courier IMAP shared folders

Hi everyone, I needed RoundCube to access shared folders on a Courier-IMAP server. I've seen a couple of posts / forum threads related to this, but no real solution. If I change $rcmail_config['imap_root'] to 'shared', I can see them. But I needed to have both namespaces, 'INBOX' and 'shared', displayed in the folder list. Is there a way to do this? Or is it feasible to implement considering the current code structure? I'm willing to hack at it. ^^ Cheers, João Vale

blanc page with big attachments

Hi! I'm using Roundcube since several months. Since the last update I've got a problem with big attachments (about 4 MB). When I try to open a mail with a big attachment I can only see a blanc page. 2 issues with Round Cube

Hello, I think I found 2 different issues with Round Cube. I've attached several gif images to this email... hoping it will assist you in locate the issues. You may have already found them. Issue 1: Check mail option (both graphic and text) produce an error message. (see image) Issue 2: Add new folder "Test" - rename folder to "Save" - folder "Save" will not be "subscribed" - when you "subscribe" "Save" folder... "Save" folder will appear on list - cannot remove folder "Test". If you need more explaination - contact me. Pierre

bug in smtp auth

Hi folks! I just hunted down a pretty simple yet annoying bug concerning smtp auth. I'm using a password with special characters in it which get \-escaped by my php installation. I tracked down the issue to lie in rcube_smpt.inc:L101 which I changed like this: FROM $smtp_pass = str_replace('%p', decrypt_passwd($_SESSION['password']), $CONFIG['smtp_pass']); TO $smtp_pass = str_replace('%p', stripslashes(decrypt_passwd($_SESSION['password'])), $CONFIG['smtp_pass']); I don't know if it might be more useful to move stripslashes into decrypt_passwd - I'll leave that up to you. Furthermore, a "king's solution" might be to query the value of PHP's magic_qpc_quotes variable to strip-slash the decrypted password only when it's been \-escaped - thus making the usage of backslashes in the smtp password possible. Hi! I try to use roundcube, but I found a little bug. If the username contain not only ASCII characters (from or to) it's not work correctily. The Mail mime version is buggy because it's created the From/To address like this: =?UTF-8?Q?.....<xxx(a)yyy.zz>?= Because it's incorrect. The mail end with >, and ?= is a new mail user name. So it's generate incorrect From/To header. I changed the mail mime class to the last released (tested with: v1.3.1 and the CVS version), and it's work correctily.... Cow

hi all, here is Serbian translation. I used existing Serbian as template, and modified it, please tell me if I missed something. Another thing - Serbian has two scripts - Latin and Cyrillic. Since Cyrillic is used everywhere as default (at least in linux translations...long story...), this is _real_ sr language. Existing sr translation you had was Latin one, and by some convention, it's named sr@Latn (at least in gnome/gtk and kde). If it's named only 'sr' that means that's Cyrillic by default. Empty cache-control

All, I've noticed that RoundCube sends an empty "Cache-control: " header in the HTTP response when the "send_future_expire_header()" function is used. I read the HTTP 1.1 specification, and didn't see where an empty value was meaningful in this header. Does anyone know the intent behind this empty header, or what behavior might be expected?
