Folder name in browser header

When selecting a folder the name does not show in the browser header. Only after hitting enter the name shows. This was a bug in the past which had been solved. Apparently it's back. I'm currently running 284, but I've noticed in the 283 as well. I thought there was ticket for this but I can't find it. Does anybody know if this ticket should be in Trac? If not then I will create a new ticket, but I'd rather re-open the old one. -- Regards, Erik

[patch] Junk mail highlight in message list (SpamAssassin specific)

Hi, Here a very small patch for roundcube-cvs-20060413 (the one I run) and the revision-282. If a mail is marked as spam by SpamAssassin (X-Spam-Flag in headers) the message is hightlighted in light green in message list. This can be easily "disabled" by commentting the related section in the CSS. Hope you'll find this useful. Wrong sorting - please help me debug this

I am inclined to agree with Michael on this. The timing of this offer is very interesting. Roundcube is very close to an excellent beta 2 and full release cannot be more than six months away. @mail is doing this on purely commercial grounds (nothing wrong with that) but it would be sad to see such a good Open Source project disappear as it surely would. However, I would like to understand what would happen to the source code if Thomas should decide to sell. Who actually owns the code given that at least a dozen people have contributed? Is it the case that the code will remain open even after he sells it and therefore couldn't anyone else start a new project from what exists already? BincIMAP Search Patch

Is there anyone else around that is currently using BincIMAP? I have a BincIMAP server I'm forced to deal with in one setup, and the search feature fails in the default configuration, because BincIMAP doesn't understand UTF-8 and chokes when RoundCube sends the search query with UTF-8 specified as the charset. I have a patch that fixes this for me, but I'm sure it could use some more testing/comments/whatever. The ticket for this is #1483855 The patch is on the ticket: http://trac.roundcube.net/trac.cgi/attachment/ticket/1483855/bincimap_searc… Basically, if the search fails the first time it retries the search without a charset specified. Assuming I read the code right, this should only happen with a server error, not just an empty message set. (Another pair of eyes might help verify that...) Thanks, Jim

Hi everybody I finally made it to go through the most tickets and assigned a set of bugs that IMO need to be fixed for the next milestone. There are now 16 pending tickets assigned to milestone 0.1beta2: http://trac.roundcube.net/trac.cgi/query?status=new&status=assigned&status=… It looks like I will have some time again to work on the project for the next couple of weeks. Let's try to get rid of those 16 tix and we're ready to publish a new release. This will also be the first release that is "planned" with the Trac system and a proof of success of that platform. Absolute URLs not working

After checking out of SVN today on build 280 with absolute URLs implemented, quite a few links don't work. Tested in Opera 9, Ubuntu 6.06, Linux 2.6.15, using SVN checkout 280 (as of today). When clicking 'Log out' I receive the following error (on URL ?_task=logout): SERVICE CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE! Error No. 1f4) Logs produce this line: PHP Error: Error loading template for 'logout' in /var/www/html/roundcubemail/program/include/main.inc on line 1129 My session is not terminated after this, i.e. it's impossible to log out. Furthermore, when hitting 'Preferences' I'm only able to view the main settings. Clicking 'Folders' and 'Identities' only changes the address of the page from ?_task=settings to ?_task=settings# Unless others report that build 280 is working fine in this respect, I'll file a bug report. If it works for others, please let me know, so that I can investigate further on my own server. Furthermore, the 'Send now' button doesn't work, and the 'Send email now' and 'Cancel buttons at the bottom of the Compose window don't work. OK, I'm seeing to much of this error messages, and they are not related to the config files main.inc.php or db.inc.php. Some script has a new line at the end, after the closing "?>". Sieve filtering for Roundcube

I wanted to see if there has been any progress towards server-side filtering support (read: Sieve/timsieved) within Roundcube. If nobody else has taken on this project, I wouldn't mind working on "porting" the functionality in Horde's Ingo over to Roundcube. I have not done much with PHP, but I'm a highly skilled Perl programmer. I have been known to submit PHP patches to various projects (PostfixAdmin, BASE) in the past, so I feel I'd be up to it. Problem with

I just wanted to mention that there seems to be something wrong with the roundcubemail-cvs-20060505 build currently available on the sourceforge site. The entire message list blanks out and the apache2 logs get the old PHP Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent in Unknown on line 0 error message. I have tried with a few fresh copies, same results. roundcubemail- cvs-20060413 works fine, as does today's trunk. Incidentally, I got the trunk by using wget -m https://svn.roundcube.net/trunk/ It seems to work fine. Is something totally bunk about that method? -- Mark Edwards

Delay opening Folders settings

There is a 2-3 minute delay while waiting for the Folder settings tab to load. This happens regardless of whether the user has one folder or 50 folders. Contrary to bug reports, I have _not_ experienced any delay when reading from folders at login or other general usage. This only happens while opening the Folder settings tab. There is also no delay when making changes to the settings themselves. I have tailed the system.log on our Xserve (records authentication events) to see if there is any delay server-side. The authentication (presumably for rcmail_imap_init) happens immediately, so it appears to be something within the webserver or Roundcube. Anyone else experienced this? I'm currently using 4.1 and that works fine, but I've read that MySQL stops support for this release at the end of this year, so I will have to switch before then. User-Agent mail header

Just a quick query on the use of the User-Agent mail header with RC. Which RFC is this from? I thought it was a HTTP header and User Defined Fields (X-$) were defined for mail in RFC822 which for some reason don't get a mention in RFC2822 which succeeds it. Deprecated? Is this the right header to use for identification of the software used to send the mail? I don't know much here, any info on this appreciated Chris

Also wanted to say hi. I've become reinterested in RoundCube as a potentially simpler replacement for my home install of horde/imp. I'm not sure I'll have time to post useful patches, but I'll certainly be following this release and ongoing dev with interest. I have lots of enterprise PHP experience, if I get inspired, I'd love to help contribute. Just juggling the rest of my priorities as we all are. It's great to see the push starting for 0.2. I think there's room for some more RoundCube buzz in the community again. Thanks for your great work, let me know if there are particular ways I should explore helping out. -Will

Hi! I'm using the latest SVN of Roundcube on Windows with PHP5. I've started getting the following message in my errors log, it appears since about June 19th. JS errors on SVN 271

I'm having trouble with the last SVN update. Basically new messages don't get in the div frame as I eliminate others, and sometimes the frame gets totally empty. Firefox Memory Leak extension

While searching for problems with Firefox using a lot of memory I came accross the Memory Leak Extension for Firefox. This gives information about possible memory leaks. I thought it might be of interest for developers, but maybe you already know it. As far as I understand now, it has to do with the Javascript on the webpage. Addition to Ticket #1483843

Ticket #1483843 requests for a mass mark as read option. I would like to see this extended to mass flag/move option. It would be nice to select multiple mails and then move those to specific folder, as is possible with GMail and IlohaMail. For an individual mail this is already possible. I can add this to the existing ticket or create a new one, but I'm wondering what the best way for feature requests is. I see things asked for on the mailing list being implemented right away while some tickets are entered a long time ago. In a few weeks, I probably (hopely) have some more spare time left, which I want to spent on the RC when required. I would like to dig through the list of open tickets and see of some of them have been solved in the meantime. But maybe it is better to do this when a second beta is to be released. Is a date for a new beta release already planned? It would be nice for those users who don't use SVN to benefit from all the great improvements made over the passed few months. -- Regards, Erik

Ticket #1443200 (Cannot login if INBOX is empty)

Could someone have a look at ticket 1443200? http://trac.roundcube.net/trac.cgi/ticket/1443200 It appears that the error message returned by BincIMAP when requesting an invalid range of messages (1:0) isn't handled properly. Courier also generates an error, but does not exhibit the same problem. I put a patch in the ticket that fixes it for me, although there could be a deeper issue, I added a simple sanity check that allows it to function as it should. I had it check for the case that is failing (1:0) but I suppose the more general case of the range n:m where n>m should also be tested. If the simple check could be committed, it would at least let that many more people use RC without wondering why it won't let certain users login... :) I have another BincIMAP issue, ticket #1483855, but it's much harder to solve. I'll see if there's any more I can do to help figure out how to best solve that one. Jim

Weird behavior with mass mail deletion

I would like to start with big cheer for all the great improvements over the past few days/week which have been submitted to the SVN. Occassionally this should be said in stead of only reporting bugs over this list ;-) I noticed some weird behavior when deleting 'mass' mail deletion. When the list of mails is spread out over multiple pages, go to last page, select all mails, delete them. Then mails are deleted, but an empty list is shown. It would be nicer to show the previous page of the list. Furthermore, the counter at the right bottom shows 'Messages 81 to 80 of 80'. Thus, the counter isn't update properly either. I cleaned up a few folders, after which I returned to my inbox where the counter now shows: 'Messages 81 to 2 of 2'. The 81 does not get update properly anymore. I've never noticed this before, so I don't know if it's got something to do with recent changes, or that this behavior has always been like this. -- mvg. Erik

New labels/messages in Trunk

Hi everybody, Here's a little hint about localization files and new texts added with new functions. If you implement a new feature that uses localized texts you don't have to alter all the localization files. Just add the new labels and messages to the en_US version. This files will be loaded before the localized texts are merged over it. In that case, the English strings will be used if the localized version is missing. I opened a wiki page where all the new texts should be added: http://trac.roundcube.net/trac.cgi/wiki/Loc_Newlabels Before releasing a new version, all translators will be requested to update their files with the texts listed here. htaccess on program directories

Hi In the default package there should be .htaccess files to prevent reading of .inc files. LDAP directory search

Hi all, first I would like to thank you for this beautiful webmail program. I tried it two days ago and decided to replace my squirrelmail installation with it. The only thing which didn't work as supposed for me was the LDAP directory search. In my LDAP directory a lot off user have multiple mail attributes. So if I look for one, the LDAP search returns all addresses. These are stored as an array in $result[$n][$server['mail_field'] but only the first one is used when generating the $contacts array. Let's say I am looking for every address with contains 'example' and I have a user John Doe who has the following email addresses: john(a)doe.com john(a)example.com john(a)example.net The LDAP search will find the user, but only the first email address john(a)doe.com will be displayed. I changed the ldapsearchform.inc on two places: - when generating the $contacts array, not only the first element of the $result[$n][$server['mail_field']] is used but all the elements in this array - all email addresses, which were not searched for are deleted from $contacts before returning it if the search was on the mail attribute I hope you can integrate this patch as it doesn't change the functionality of the search, if every user in the directory has only one mail attribute. Hi all, Sending email from roundcube appear to be send in the future in my config which is: Server -> GMT time Roundcube personal settings -> GMT+1 & Daylight savings = on (so at this time I should be GMT + 2, which is correct imo) when sending mails they appear to be send 1 hour in the future by the receiving clients. Possible bug w/ select all

Hi there! I updated this week to latest version and now encountered a problem with the "select all"-messages button. e. g. when I try to empty my junk folder, I click on select all and the delete button. Messages disappear but a javascript error is thrown: program/js/app.js Line 1244: last_selected_row has no properties Going back to my junk folder, the mails reappear and weren't deleted. Same behaviour if I "select all" and then like to move the messages. If I select messages with control or shift keys, everything works fine. Did anyone see the same behaviour? problems with creating ticket in RC trac

People I have a BUG with a patch that I want to submit and I can't get the ticket in the trac system. Even worst, I had a real hard time finding the link to add a new ticket. Help wasn't to helpfull. :-( Can someone give me a flow from after I logged in to the part where I have to add the report? Hi - I'm very impressed with roundcube and would like to suggest it as our replacement webbmail platform at work. Great project! I was wondering whether there is any interest in a PHP 5.1-only version of this software. I would be very willing to help port the software to PHP5, using exceptions, PDO, etc., since I will most probably be doing an in-depth code review anyway. Is there any interest in a PHP5-only branch? From a developer perspective, I think it makes for a significantly more debuggable & maintainable (and, in some ways, secure) codebase, but I understand there also are (a lot) of folks still running PHP4. (Not sure if many roundcube users are also running PHP4?) Regards - Hans

Folders bug?

Hi all, Do not know if to report this as bug or feature request. When creating a new email box on a ISP mail server usually the folders are created upon first mail or by the mail client. in this case only the inbox is created upon first mail before when using squirrelmail or thunderbird via imap the client would create the appropriate other boxes (drafts, trash and sent) roundcube does not do this yet, which leads to errors when writing new messages or deleting existing messages from new inboxes. WAP Roundcube?

Hey all! I've been using linux for a few months now and I want to start getting more involved in working on open source projects. I figured the best way for me to get started would be to add an itch that needed to be sratched for me personally to something I'm already using. In any event, I'd like to contribute to roundcube. I've used it successfully a bunch of times and I just love its simplicity and its ease of setup. That being said, the one thing that I wish I could do with it is to check my email from my cell phone. Sort of in the spirit of m.gmail.com, I wanted to pass it on the developers and see what you think. I've included kind of a rough markup<http://growinguplinux.com/images/m_roundy.png>of an interface that I think I can build, less perhaps the grouping by conversation feature. Well at least I think I can. I've been going through the code and its complexity and depth are staggering IMHO. For some reason I thought simple interface = simple codebase. While the code is well commented and very, very eloquent, at this point its a bit above my knowledge of PHP & javascript. However, I'm not going to let that dishearten me. I'm down for a challenge. So I have a few questions for some of the devs on this list. 1. How modular is the interface? I've been going through the code and it seems like some HTML is hardwired into the program (but some of the code I'm having a hard time understanding). Is this the case? Is there an easy way to plug in an alternative interface besides a common web browser w/ajax support? Is something like this even possible with roundcube? 2. I've been looking at the wurfl <http://wurfl.sourceforge.net/php/>and wall <http://wall.laacz.lv/> and thought that it would be easy to build a WAP/HTML interface like a roundcube_wall_page() using these libraries and I'd like to give it a whirl but I'm still trying to figure out how the code is structured beyond the introductory info in the help file. 3. Is there any rudimentary docmentation or diagrams that help explain the system design from a higher level? Is there some sort of autodocumentation program that I can help build or get involved in until I understand this system better? Something that strips tags out of the code and automatically builds documentation or something? How about a developers guide? 4. What functions can I call that will allow me to: List all of the IMAP folders, get the messages from the IMAP server in some sort of organzied array, and basically just work with the IMAP stuff at a lower level. Is there a roundcube IMAP ilohamail wrapper class? If I'm not using the right language please correct me. This is a great, great open source product and I'd love to be able to contribute in some manner or fashion.
