Hi all I fixed my first (not related to RC) problem, it was the imap daemon not working correctly. Now i can login, and see inbox folder, but can read any of 2 messages I have. I've alredy tried double click, and triple, any other option ?? I see in the main.inc.php you can enter multiple hosts and then users are given a drop down list of domains to select from, what is the syntax to define the multiple hosts?

Having this position available to select a message (but not open it), again imho, would make sense to a user because most people who have used apps like Hotmail, Gmail, Horde, etc. are used to using that location for select/multi-select purposes. Again, this is really not a criticism of RoundCube. This application, is an alph in RC or beta clothing. I'm just an opinionated guy and I'm a bit anal when it comes to usability. Cookies Issue

Every time I try to login, now, I get a "Your browser does not accept cookies" error. This is no EVERY browser, all allowing cookies or with security settings as "low" as possible. I've just completed the install of roundcubemail and performed the configuation. I get to the "login" page, and when logging in, get a "Safari cannot open the page error." Thoughts? -- Phillip C. Usually, a + sign means that clicking it will expand something to give you more options. I got this issue figured out and I have roundcube up and running. I have another question. I believe it is being worked on. Or at least I hope so! On the subject of forums, I personally am in favor of it. I do agree that mailing lists (especially with no archiving capabilities) is an inefficient way of supporting a growing community. With that being said, it was discussed just last week and the majority of the users (and developers) preferred a wiki/trac/arhive mix until the community grows. Thats what communities are about: getting consensus and working together as a group. I can see where the originator of this thread is coming from, but starting a thread and announcing we all should come over to his website is a bit of an odd way to introduce yourself to the community isn't it? At the end of the day, I think we will all recognise when it is the right time to segue to a BB-based support model. Christ, I'm starting to sound like a marketing dweeb. Error upon install

When trying to install Round Cube Mail I get this error message. I cannot seem to get this installed on either of two (completely different) servers. Any help would be appreciated. Message Not Showing

Anyone else have this problem and have a fix? RoundCubeMail is displaying all the subjects and I can double click to bring up the message. All the header information is displayed nicely (Subject, Sender, Recipient, Date), but the message body is NOT displayed. If I click on the 'viewsource' icon it comes up with everything in the email including the body. I've tried this in Firefox and IE. Ideas? -Jeff

I was trying to setup RoundCube Webmail and ran into an error that I can't find a solution to: /libexec/ld-elf.so.1: /usr/local/lib/php/20020429/pcre.so: Undefined symbol "php_addslashes_ex" I'm running FreeBSD5.4 Stable Apache 2.0.50 PHP 4.3.9 MySQL 4.1.13 I tried upgrading php4-pcre, but that hasn't helped. Folder name length patch

For anybody who has been having trouble with the length of folder names, I created this patch about a month ago and am including it. It is hard coded to truncate the folders at 17 by removing part of the name in the middle. I also sent this change to the author last month. Errors in PostgreSQL 8.x

Attached are the files that have been modified from the latest release to ensure it works with PostgreSQL. I strongly doubt this fixes all the problems, it lets you get thru the first couple of screens error free. Just from looking at the code, it seems that PostgreSQL part of the engine is quite buggy and isn't tested. It seems the best way to resolve this would be to separate PostgreSQL calls from MySQL calls into separate files since it'd be much easier to debug. ScriptHead

Blue Star Mails , Temp Folder

Hi List, Ive two small problems left until my webmail is up and running really smooth. The first one I guess is more complicated than the second one, right know the mails are correctly displayed in the list (with a blue star) but when you click on them, nothing happens and you have the feeling the system crashed (window). Unfortunately there is nothing in the logs. I had a lock in the mail folder, and it is being moved from "new" to "cur" but as I already said, not displayed. When I check my mails via pop3 and my normal client the blue star vanishes and I can read the mail without any problem, only new mails with blue stars are the problem old mails are fine :) The second problem is not an actual problem I couldnt solve, but I like to change the php script itself but dont know exactly how, also after several trials :) Ive the problem that when I upload a file it gets into /tmp/xxxxx but Apache does not have read/write right in that folder, so I want to change the temporary folder from /tmp to something like /var/www/webmail/tmp how can I do that? Postgres problems

Hi all, I've been having a considerable deal of difficulty making the latest release of Roundcube play nice with PostgreSQL. After fixing up my own stuff ups with permissions (it kinda helps if the database user actually has permission to look at the table you want to select from ;-)), I found that postgres.initial.sql is missing the 'ip' column (from the 'session' table). Doing the below fixed this for me: ALTER TABLE session ADD ip character varying(15) NOT NULL; ALTER TABLE session ALTER COLUMN ip SET DEFAULT ''::character varying; However, it's still not working, and the current problem has got me stumped. I think it's due to the php being used, but my code-foo ain't that good. I receive this in the browser: -----ooooo----- DB Error in /var/www/roundcubemail/program/include/rcube_db.inc (124): DB Error: unknown error DB Error in /var/www/roundcubemail/program/include/rcube_db.inc (210): DB Error: unknown error Query: SELECT vars, ip, UNIX_TIMESTAMP(changed) AS changed FROM session WHERE sess_id='74bfac980c44f3d2db46c4b0c49d22f0' Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /var/www/roundcubemail/program/include/rcube_db.inc on line 202 -----ooooo----- .and in the Postgres log I get this: -----ooooo----- 2005-10-12 16:49:16 [15138] ERROR: function unix_timestamp(timestamp with time zone) does not exist HINT: No function matches the given name and argument types. I've corrected this bug and am copying the fix here as with the current changes I'm not sure where things should be submitted, so sorry for the duplication. Can somebody please confirm my fix (It's working for me, but as always YMMV) and close the bug if you find it appropriate? I have tried everything I can think of to get the drop down box with multiple domains for selection at login to work. What do I have to do? I have tried: 'sitea.com siteb.com' 'sitea.com, siteb.com' 'sitea.com' siteb.com' I'm pretty sure it's something stupid that I'm overlooking. Progress report on Trac and a few questions...

Time for a progress report on the Trac installation. After many, *many* hours, I've finally reached an agreement with Python. The agreement basically boils down to this; Python will put up with being installed in /usr/local/python (instead of in /usr or /usr/local), and I will put up with having to hack every Python "extension" in the known universe to get it to work. In practice this means everything will take about 10 times as long, at least in the beginning. The only reason I haven't taken both Trac and Python out back and shot then both in the neck, is that certain people whose opinion i respect claims Python is actually an excellent idea. But, at the end of the day (or more precisely at the end of two days), I've succeeded. Trac and Python, and their combined cluster of dependencies finally fell into place. We now have a working Trac installation! This means it's time for me to start asking some questions. The ticket tracking system has a few settings we need to agree upon before we start using it. I'll present the issues in question, along with my suggested answers, and let you all battle it out for a few days before we make a final decision. I'll give Thomas final say, and assume he speaks on behalf of the current active developers. * Type: When you create a ticket, you also select a ticket type. The default list of available types include the following: 'defect', 'enhancement' and 'task'. My suggestion is that we substitute these 3 with the following 2: 'Bug' and 'Feature Request'. My motivation for both reducing and renaming is simplicity. When a first-time Trac user submits her first ticket, lets make sure it's as simple and self explanatory as can be. * Priority: A ticket is assigned a priority. The default Trac installation is set up with a total of 5 priorities; 'blocker', 'critical', 'major', 'minor' and 'trivial'. I suggest we reduce and rename to: 'High', 'Medium' and 'Low', for the reasons listed above. * Component: As far as I can tell, the RoundCube project only has one component so far. I suggest we name this 'RoundCube Core'. * Milestone: At what milestone is this bug fix or feature supposed to be available. To keep things simple in the beginning I suggest we define the following milestones: '0.1-beta', '0.1-final', '0.2-alpha' and '0.2-beta'. More milestones will of course be added later. If we agree to start with this list, I'll need a guesstimate from Thomas on when they'll be released. * Version: The version of RoundCube that this ticket pertains to. I see no point in adding any older versions to the system, so I think this list should initially include only 'v0.1-20051007'. The important thing to remember about the above lists is that non of this will be carved in stone. We'll surely make additions and alterations as we go. The goal here is just to make sure we start with some sane defaults. Then there's the question of the design. The current design looks fantastic, but doesn't lend itself easily to some of the thinks we'll be publishing. My suggestion is to just go live with the default design of Trac, a slightly modified design on the mailing list archive, and the main RoundCube site just like it looks today. Then, once everything is up and running I'll ask for some design help on the mailing list. Last, but not least; the question of CVS to SVN migration. It's a lot easier for me just to fetch the latest source from SourceForge CVS and import this into Subversion. If we want to import all the history as well, someone with a bit more CVS-foo then me will have to help me get my hands on a repository tar-ball. This is once again a decision for the developers. Is it acceptable to leave all the old history in SourceForge CVS? At the end of the day, I'll leave this decision to Thomas. I think that's about it for tonight. Bob

Awesome work, Bob! I agree with all of your Trac settings except one. I suggest that you have more than one setting for the components, that would initially include: - Webmail - Address Book - Skins - Other (settings, etc.) We can expand to include more as we need (plugins, notes, etc.). Folder Listing CSS Styling

Since upgrading to the latest public release, I've had some funnyness in my folder listing. I've added the following block in skins/default/mail.css to make the message list easier to read (I'm using FireFox 1.0.7, courier imapd, apache, debian linux). Firstly I modified the '#mailboxlist li.selected a' block, to change the color from '#FFF' to '#000'. This makes the listing black. Under this block I then added: #mailboxlist li.selected ul li a { color: #000; font-weight: normal; } This removes the boldness from subfolders of the current folder. Also, all folders are listed in black which is infinitely easier to read than when they were white. I'm finding the CSS for the folder list very odd in the new version - it's all cascaded (which is great) but the colors are a bit messed up (it looks completely different in Firefox & IE for me, both look screwed up though). Is anybody currently looking into this, or even experiencing similar problems? If not I'll try to clean it up over the next few days. Ross www.rossp.org

Re: Courier Problems

Unfortunately its still timing out on sending mail, looking at the server logs, its going through. When clicking the send icon on new mail its just going to -> Page cannot be found after about 20 seconds. Problem with charsets.

Hi! It's cool, that someone has made attempt to create open-source candy-look webmail client. Since all other open webmail clients ugly enough on a look. But, unfortunately, I have found, that in roundcube there are serious problems with charsets. Below I have put two files: one (charset-correct.jpg) shows, as the text looks before sending, and the second (charset-sent.jpg) as it looks after. The text is written in cyrillic charset windows-cp1251. Thanks for attention!

First, I wanted to thank the developers for this web client. We love it here. Second, are we meant to put RFEs here or into the SourceForge system? I've seen several in the list in just the few days I've been on here. Third, is there a mailing list archive somewhere? Finally...thanks again, this thing is great. I'll be pestering you guys for enhancements. (I sent a couple of emails offering my assistance, but got no response, but I probably screwed that up somewhere.)

howdy, new to this list and this software, but i like what i see :-) we are evaluating roundcube for integration into a larger application. (after a week of hacking squirrelmail, i'm glad a decision was made to try roundcube...) a few of questions: my mail server is volta.babel.com.au, but i want my email domain to be babel.com.au. is it possible to set the from address domain to something other than the $rcmail_config['default_host']? i couldn't see an option for this. also, we want to integrate the authentication and error handling of roundcube into our application wide mechanisms. i've just hacked index.php so that a logged-in user has their inbox loaded without having to log in to roundcube. i'm wondering if making the authentication configurable, such that this can be done via some config options/plugins is desirable for roundcube? i'm happy to work on working up some patches if there's interest in this. pgp and s/mime: where is it at? we're going to need this, we've done it before and will do it ourselves again if needs be, but it would be better to work with something/somebody rather than just do it ourselves. comments? cheers justin

Courier Problems

So far, these are the problems we have found with RoundCube/Courier. - Delete messages is not working, they remove instantly, but when you login/go back to that folder, they are still there. - Cannot open messages until the dirty fix is used, messages will remain unread due to fix - Sending email seems to be causing a problem also, it times out, but on occasions appears to send We could also use a few alt tags on the icons as a side note, even I'm clicking logout on occasion instead of the delete icon :p Anyone have any idea of a release date for a fix or just a code change to resolve these? Unable to open "unread" message

Greetings, I am running 20051007 with Courier IMAP (4.x), and am experiencing the following oddity: If I attempt to open a new or unread message, the page will wait and wait, but nothing will happen. I tried this in both Firefox and IE, with the same results. I see this error in the error log: [08-Okt-2005 16:51:35] PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 120 seconds exceeded in /var/www/html/roundmail/program/lib/imap.inc on line 104 If I select the message and forward it, I am able to read the message in the forward window. The roadmap

Hi everybody, I know, it's not a real roadmap but I tried to put together all major and minor To dos for the RoundCube development. The list can be seen here: http://roundcube.net/?p=roadmap There are already people working on some issues like (cache redesign, plugin API, virtusertable, richtext composing) and I will come up with a real roadmap showing a few milestones. For all developers out there, who offered some help, please let me know, if you would like to take care of one or more lines of the To do list. roundcube:include files not being included

Hey everyone, I was having a problem with my server and RoundCube WebMail, but I've solved it, below is the problem and how i solved it. My problem. RoundCube wasn't loading including any files in the templates that use "roundcube:include file"..." ". I knew this wasn't a permissions problem. I also could use RoundCube, I just didn't have the header, or taskbar (Thus couldn't access the Address Book, Settings, etc...), or any of the status messages (Loading, etc). First of, my server specs: OS X 10.3.9 Server Default Apache install Mark Liyanage's php4 http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/php/ The Fix: In /program/include/main.inc, in the parse_rcube_xml function, in the "include" case. I changed: $path = realpath($CONFIG['skin_path'].$attrib['file']); to: $path = $CONFIG['skin_path'].$attrib['file']; That fixed it. Everything seems fine now. I'm not sure if this is any help to anyone else, but I thought I'd put it out there. Also note, I'm using the same php package on 10.4.2 Client and I wasn't having this issue. Roydon Gyles-Bedford

Idea for page reload

Hey Everyone, I was pondering the message page reload. I think the best way would be to have another php script that checks if there is a new message using ajax, and if so would cause a window.location.reload(). The ajax/js would be easy to write but really not sure on the php script. What do you all think? Justin
