Hi Cor, May I suggest you to have a look at a nice project of a free mobile skin that looks pretty good and works fine. Using viewport, it helps switching automatically to the most convenient view. override skin

Hey all, im looking to override the skin from a plugin. I was encouraged by a config_get hook, which seems to be exactly what I want, but it doesnt actually function. My guess is the plugins are initialised too late, and roundcube has already decided to use the default skin (or the configured skin). Some debug statements show that my plugin is not called every time a $config->get() is done. On top of that it actually saves the preference as well, causing people to be logged with the default skin to suddenly switch skin. I guess this wasn't really meant for that :) Background: we recently switched our main webmail to roundcube, and are getting flooded by complaints about roundcube and android devices. Roundcube is basically totally useless on android/chrome. At least with the larry skin. The classic skin works ok-ish, at least it's functional. I was hoping to give users the option to use the classic skin on their phone/tablet, but the normal larry skin on desktop by setting a cookie and setting the skin based on that. But I cant really get that to work. Any other option to achieve this? Or any work being done to make larry usable on android? It works fine on IOS, so it really seems to be some bug in RC. For some reason the width is set to the screen width, instead of being scrollable like on IOS. Obviously the screen width isnt large enough, so it crunches the whole interface into a tiny space. Btw, I can actually get this to work by using apache environment variables and setting ROUNDCUBE_SKIN. So I could always use 2 different sites. But still wondering if im missing something to allow browser-specific skin settings, Regards, Cor

Hi all, i know roundcube doesn’t support mobile very well, but on iphone/ipad and even android/firefox/safari things sort of work ok-ish. Not so much for android/chrome. That is just one big garbled mess. Has anyone tried to look into that? I can’t seem to find a way to fix it. You can tell chrome to ‘Request Desktop Site’ and then things work ok again. So it seems to be some detection of a user agent and maybe some css gets added. I saw some code in common.js which seems to set classes based on user agents, but even if I remove all of that things don’t seem any better. Anyone has any idea what exactly is different between using “Request Desktop Site” and the ‘mobile’ site, and maybe hardcode to always use the desktop site in some combination of user agents? Cor

Localizing skins

Hi, Is it possible to add localization files (i.e., files like en_US.inc etc.) to a skin? I know how to add these language files to a plugin but I was wondering whether this is supported by a skin as well? Kind regards, Martijn

Updates 1.1.2 and 1.0.6 released

Dear Roundcube users We just published updates to both stable versions 1.0 and 1.1 after fixing many minor bugs and adding some security improvements to the 1.1 release branch. Version 1.0.6 comes with cherry-picked fixes from the more recent version to ensure proper long term support especially in regards of security and compatibility. The security-related fixes in particular are: - XSS vulnerability in _mbox argument - security improvement in contact photo handling - potential info disclosure from temp directory See the full changelog here: http://trac.roundcube.net/wiki/Changelog Both versions are considered stable and we recommend to update all productive installations of Roundcube with either of these versions. kolab/libcalendaring and sabre vobject v3

Hi, Are there any plans to port the kolab/libcalendaring plugin to use sabre vobject v3? I have a dream of using the feature_caldav branch of the kolab calendar plugin and the carddav plugin at the same time. The carddav plugin pulls in sabre/vobject 3.4.5 via composer which then clashses with the 2.1.0 one bundled with libcalendaring. ta, Roy

Encryption done right with Mailvelope

Hello Roundcube devs and early adopters Full support for encryption in Roundcube remains one of the most frequently requested features but is still not properly solved. The reason mainly is that doing web crypto right isn't as simple as it seems and there are different, yet controversial, approaches to it. The most promising one in my opinion is to use a locally installed browser extension to do the hard work in a trusted and verifiable way. Mailvelope [1] for Chrome and Firefox is probably the most popular and prevailed crypto extension for this. And now we're getting one step closer to a fully integrated solution. After Thomas Oberndörfer and I once had a chat about how to improve the integration of Mailvelope with web applications like Roundcube and I compiled my wish list for crypto extensions [2], Mailvelope as finally released a first version providing an API [3] for web apps to interact with the crypto module. I'm proud to announce that Roundcube is amongst the early adopters and we're already working on the integration part to support encryption right from the core using Mailvelope - and possibly other extensions that will follow. There's a working prototype in a development branch of our github repository and is now also available for download and testing [4]. The integration is not yet perfect of course but it allows to read and write full pgp/mime messages including attachments through embedded viewers and editors provided by the Mailvelope API. See some first screen shots to get an idea at Flickr [5]. What's still missing is restoring encrypted messages from drafts for later editing and sending. Here, attachments are not loaded into the editor and get lost. Also key handling and importing needs some love but we're getting there. We're in close contact with the Mailvelope developers and will have these minor issues sorted out soon. So everybody is welcome to test this little sneak peek version and give us feedback.
