Bug in headers' UTF-8 encoding ?

hello all, I make some tests with RoundCube and I think there is a little problem with headers' UTF8 encoding: I'm trying to send a mail with the subject: "c'est le printemps et bientôt l'été !". If I choose iso8859-1 encoding here is the result: Subject: c'est le printemps et =?ISO-8859-1?Q?bient=F4t?= l'=?ISO-8859-1?Q?=E9t=E9?= ! If I choose utf8 encoding I get: Subject: c'est le printemps et =?UTF-8?Q?bient=C3=B4t?= l'=?UTF-8?Q?=C3=A9t=C3?==?UTF-8?Q?=A9?= ! which is not displayed correctly: only the first eacute is displayed. I do not know the utf8 encoding but it seems that two special characters in the same word results in bad utf8 encoding. Christophe.

If you feel like doing it yourself and you have some programming skills, this is a pretty easy fix..read below.. I'm using a pre-beta version of roundcube, but I was able to fix this with a quick hack telling it *not* to reorder the view in the 'Sent' folder if 'to' exists in the $CONFIG['list_cols'] global. Line numbers may vary based on the version you are using, so please don't hold me to them!! If you do try to fix it, please make sure you backup your current func.inc file :) On line 257 in program/steps/mail/func.inc in function rcmail_message_list I replaced: if (strtolower($IMAP->get_mailbox_name())=='sent' && ($f = array_search('from', $a_show_cols))) $a_show_cols[$f] = 'to'; with: if (strtolower($IMAP->get_mailbox_name())=='sent' && ($f = array_search('from', $a_show_cols)) && ($t != array_search('to', $a_show_cols))) { $a_show_cols[$f] = 'to'; } You will also need to do the same on line 378 in function rcmail_js_message_list. (P.S. I added the brackets out of habit...keeps the conditionals straight in my head!) BUG: Typo in skins/default/templates/compose.html

On an older thread entitled "Word wrapping when composing a mail" Roger mentioned a fix to my issue as below. I notice that this has not been commited to cvs yet. truncated quote after '!' in reply

Hi, my rc-0.1beta has the annoying problem of truncating the 'quoted' part of a message that I reply to after a '!'. You should see be able to reproduce this quite easily - just hit reply to this message, and everything after a !!! will be missing in the quoted message. Magic_quotes==off on my server. Auke

First of all, I just want to say that I love this interface. I haven't been as excited about an open source webmail effort in a very long time. I'm testing some extensions and wanted to know if there was already work underway to address these efforts. There are a few things that I would like to add to this as optional facilities that anyone wishing to deploy this in their environment could do through the main.inc.php settings. First, I'd like to add RSS feed capabilities similar to what Thunderbird already offers. Second, I'd like to add blog support that lets you use the webmail interface to post stuff to your blog. Third, I'd like to see IM presence enabled to let users know if any of their contacts are online as they are reading their e-mail and give them a quick access to initiating an IM session directly from their e-mail. =Alain

HTML mail Display problem / moving email problem

Me three. Has anybody figured this problem out? Like Rusty, I'm willing to set somebody up with a test account. I'm using the current stable version (0.1beta?), hMailServer is the mail server, firefox/IE both have the blank display problem. I've examined the page using firefox's dom inspector, the place where the email should be is entirely empty. There are no JavaScript errors. Thunderbird reads the HTML emails just fine. I'm also having issues with dragging and dropping emails into folders. It works half the time, and the other half they're right back where they were when you open the inbox again. [Feature request] Mark folder read

Mark folder read would be a wonderful function i'm missing in the current versions and also on development road. Why that? UTF problems (bugs)

When ever I go back to the INBOX screen, say from seeing a message, or from a composing message that just got sent, the default encoding changes from UTF to ISO-8859-1. Also, even when the UTF encoding is correctly set, if a message comes in with ISO-8859-1 encoding, it's not converted, and so, it's not viewed correctly. -- --------------------------------------------------------- Lic.
