Display When Entering Wrong Password....

When entering the wrong password to login, I get the following error message: ------------------------ IMAP Error in (): Authentication failed (LOGIN): "a001 NO Login failed." ------------------------ The message is displayed above the logo. Is there any way to have this text not appear and simply logged to the appropriate log file? My users would prob not care to see this, and as long as I can see it in a log, I am kosher. Anyone have an idea of how to make this happen? Thanks, Kevin l.

I just finished a few more tweaks on the roundcube skin. The folderlist alignment has been slightly altered, and I adjusted the settings and address book screens to better match the rest of the implementation. Just unzip this file into your roundcube root directory and it will overwrite the necessary files. These modifications have been tested in firefox and IE6 and work without error. The only issue that needs to be addressed before these are added to the CVS is the size of the taskbar icons and text. Whoever made those icons, if you can modify them (I realize the text is not part of the image currently, but you should probably change that) so that the text is smaller and under the icon (just "settings" instead of "personal settings" and "contacts" instead of "address book"). This way, there won't be display isses when reading messages on lower resolution screens (currently, menus overlap at 1024x768). This change of wording and word placement will lead to a far more efficient use of space. Rob

Inbox shows that a have 1 new message but ther is no messages when a click to it? What happens?

yep - i sent an email on this about 2 weeks ago - if you change the if/else to an if/elseif/else it will work fine my line numbers won't match up, as I am on an older version: ____ if (is_numeric($date)) $ts = $date; else if (strlen($date)) //modified from 'else' $ts = strtotime($date); else //added $ts = ''; //added ____ I realize that it is non-standard for a timestamp to be empty and that it is an error of the MTA, but I believe that roundcube should handle it gracefully nonetheless. New Install question

I just installed Round Cube (v 0.1-20051021) and it doesn't seem to work quite as I expected. I couldn't find any online forums or other FAQ info, so if this is the wrong place to ask such questions please do send me in the correct direction :) Anyway, I'll start with my config in case it matters: Apache version: 2.0.53 PHP Version: 5.0.4 MySQL Version: 4.1.14 IMAP Server (not on the web server): Macallan Mial 4.0.2.2 <http://4.0.2.2> Anyway.. Everything seems to work at first. I see a list of my IMAP folders and messages, as expected. However, when I double-click a subject instead of pulling up the body it just refreshes and does nothing else. I also get odd errors when I try to delete mails. Worth noting is that I have been running Squirl Mail for over a year and am curious if something that client did might have changed something in my IMAP folders. I have not yet created an entirely new user on the mail server to see if it helps, but I will tonight. Thanks for any tips.

Memory usage for sending messages

I have been experimenting for a while when I was bumping into my 16M memory_limit when just sending a 2M attachment. First I bumped up my memory_limit to 64M to avoid any Errors. I logged the current memory usage using memory_get_usage at several checkpoints. Currently the memory_limit must be set at 3M plus six times the maximum message size. 3M for the base application and enough room to hold the message 6 times. Eek! Example: for a 2M maximum message size the memory_limit must be 15M. 15M = 3M + 6*2M Almost 2 whole copies of this message remain in memory in the "program/steps/mail/sendmail.inc" file. Another copy is stored in memory for the argument as sent to $IMAP->save_message() in "program/ include/rcube_imap.inc". Another copy for the argument passed to iil_C_Append() in "program/lib/imap.inc". And 2 more copies are generated inside that same function. Solutions: 1. destroy the MAIL_MIME object properly in the "program/steps/mail/ sendmail.inc" after it is done with. 2. rework the API to reduce function calls that require the message body. 3. store the message only once globally, and have all functions read it instead of passing the message around. 3. consider fixing the Iloha library to manage memory more efficiently, or using another library. --lonnie

Large Install issues

So I tried roundcube out on a large and in use install. It was competing with SquirrelMail at the same time. But it had its own server. The IlohaMail backend is too slow to consider for the site (700k+ emails) and made working with RC unbearable. I'm not sure I have the time to convert the backend to what SquirrelMail uses, but depending on how the various Courier-IMAP issues get worked out, I may make a second try at it. Solution for Courier-IMAP unread mail bug

Hi, Here's a bug fix for Courier-IMAP 4.x and reading unread mail. [Background] New mails need to be flagged as Seen after it's opened. The IMAP command STORE $UID +Flags (\$flag) is issued for this. [Problem] New mail cannot opened when using Courier-IMAP. No page is rendered. [Solution] Tcpdump reveals the following: Client -> Server: flg STORE 139 +Flags (\Seen) Server -> Client: * 139 FETCH (FLAGS (\Seen)) Server -> Client: flg OK STORE completed. However, the 'flg' part is not stripped when the input is sent to ParseResult to valid the server's response code (OK, BAD etc). If we strip 'flg' before validating the response, we get the proper input. File: program/lib/imap.inc:1455 Old code: }while (!iil_StartsWith($line, "flg")); if (iil_ParseResult($line) == 0){ File: program/lib/imap.inc:1455 New code: }while (!iil_StartsWith($line, "flg")); $line = str_replace('flg','',$line); if (iil_ParseResult($line) == 0){ This patch shouldn't affect other IMAP-servers. Core problem is that errors in imap.inc need to be logged using error_log for example or a custom error handler. Otherwise a function returns -1 and the exception is handled. Best regards, Jasper
