I guess the sourceforge page is still out there. I wasn't able to pull it up earlier, I had assumed that it had been taken down. The page is here:

As you can see, it hasn't been worked on at all for about three years now. We're running up-imapproxy behind roundcube, and it seems to be doing just as well, although I don't have any hard statistics to back that up. The AJAX design of Roundcube seems to be more lightweight than other models that require a full page redraw and re-enumeration of messages every time the page is updated.
