Dear Developers,

I'm not sure if this belongs to the bug tracker or here.

On my mail server i use users like: user.domain.nl instead of user@domain.nl

But becaus i want to login with the e-mail addres i had to make small changes to the smtp and imap authentication.

Would it be a feature if the person installing could chose this?
