Hi,
I've been thinking about this XMPP plugin for quite a while now, but since I'm no javascript expert, I didn't dig into it yet. Strophe.js library could provide the xmpp functions, but there a lot to code for the interface (facebook style ? gmail style ?).
I agree with emi that roundcube should stick to PHP/JS/HTML. Installing tomcat (or similar) just for one plugin, even if it's an interesting one, is an hugly solution.
Does anybody know if webcams can be accessed using javascript ?
Julien

Hi there, I have already installed Red5 for Drupal some months ago, but I think that maybe we should make a XMPP (or just a chat) plugin before, which may serve as a proof of concept for doing other kind of intercommunication plugin between users.
Also, Red5 uses Java and Flash, which complicates a lot the installation and the maintenance of the software (and is a high server consumption). Is there any way to use users cameras without Flash (proprietary technology)?
See you! emi
