It behaves like Safari in how it renders content. Unfortunately, some gestures are specific to the iPhone. When double tapping in Safari on the iPhone, it zooms in and out instead of sending the traditional "double click" that desktop Safari would register. Other things like drag and drop will not work either in the iPhone. Check out the "Understanding User-iPhone Interaction section on this document: http://developer.apple.com/iphone/designingcontent.html

In regard to the Preview Pane, I do not see such a checkbox in the Preferences tab. I am using the Version 0.1-rc1  package, not anything from the development sources. Is this something that should be available in rc1?

By the way, the "hack" I have been using is to touch once to select, then touch Reply to read the message. Maybe something as simple as adding an "Open" or "View" button at the top along with delete, reply, new, etc. Also a button to "Move" would be helpful to overcome the inability to drag and drop into a folder to file a message.

No, I think he means, "how to select the message" that will open in

I'd like to use this opportunity so say that of course we'd love to
make RC work on the iPhone. So if you have a couple iPhones to spare
(and unlimited data contracts), please send them over.

Ping me off list. =)

(Sorry, could not resist!)

P.S.
More seriously - I always got the impression that the iPhone behaves
just like Safari. So it should work indeed?

I think that's the part I'm having a problem with. How do you preview
the message without being able to double click it in the message list.
Is there some alternate method I am missing?

I know it's going to be small, but what about the preview pane?

Since there is no "double click" available through the iPhone
