Port 143 is usually reserved for IMAP daemons. smtp is port 25 (this is used for sending emails, not receiving) and pop3 is port 110 (this is a different protocol all together in which messages arent stored on the server like they are with imap and is not supported by RoundCube).
After a quick little test, msn has pop3 support through pop3.email.msn.com:110 and smtp at smtp.email.msn.com:25 but theres no equiv. imap.email.msn.com:143 so my guess is that MSN doesn't offer IMAP.
If you run your own server, then perhaps you could setup your own IMAP server and use Fetchmail to get the email from the msn email, that would be one viable solution (I have a simmilar setup myself)
