If that wasn't clear, I wasn't suggesting a draft versioning system, just to keep the most recent draft. Manual saving is good too, but I'm not sure it will be used much since, depending on the check, it will save anyway, and the sessions aren't that short It's more of a usability thing, but no harm in having it there, and as you point out the code becomes reusable.

Just creating the manual save should probably be the first priority. If done properly most of the code used for a manual save could be reused for an automatic save. Keep in mind that an automatic save should never overwrite a manual save.
