Release candidate version 0.8

Hello folks, The stable release with the new skin is getting closer! We just published the release candidate version 0.8 which fixes some more bugs and completes the work on the "Larry" skin. It's now feature complete and everybody is kindly invited to do some more tests with this release and report bugs to our tracker. Have fun!

Roundcube vacation setup with exim virtual users

Hello, I have installed the roundcube vacation message plugin https://sourceforge.net/projects/rcubevacation/ I have installed it on our server but don't know to configure it. We are on Freebsd, with exim, dovecot, and maildir. Our users are virtual users and do not have server access. Can anyone help me how I set this up with exim? From what I understand the roundcube vacation plugin requires a .forward file in the users home dir, however because our users are virtual they don't have their own home dir. Anyone know how I can set this up? Thanks in advance, any advice is GREATLY appreciated. Kristin

Key/value store support

Are there any plans to support a key/value store such as Cassandra or Voldemort as a database backend for roundcube in the future? I have been working with Cassandra for a while now and can attest to it's ability to scale (not only in the data center but between geographically disperate data centers), which is sorely lacking in the crop of databases Roundcube currently supports.

Simultaneous logins from different computers?

While testing Roundcube, I've noticed that I can't be logged in with the same IMAP credentials on two different computers accessing the same installation of Roundcube. Clarification: Computer 1 is logged into "http://www.website.com/roundcube/" successfully. If I open a different browser and access the same URL from the same computer, I can login fine. Computer 2 tries to login to "http://www.website.com/roundcube/" and gets the following error in the error log: [14-May-2012 17:07:15 -0500]: IMAP Error: Login failed for LOGININFO@com from IPADDRESS. AUTHENTICATE PLAIN: Authentication failed. in ****/roundcube/program/include/rcube_imap.php on line 205 (POST ****/roundcube/?_task=login&_action=login) If I log out of Computer 1 and wait a little bit, I can login from Computer 2 without an error. Is this behavior standard, or if my installation screwed up?

list and subscribe to shared folders in rc (with courier-imap as backend)

Dear list, I have a small mailserver with around 200 accounts and I'm using roundcube (0.7) as the primary webmail interface after migrating from squirrelmail 1 year ago. I'm now trying to get shared folders to work with my courier-imap mail server (4.8.0-3 on debian squeeze). After the configuration of a simple virtual shared folder in a testaccount (via the shared folder plugin), I'm able to access and subscribe to this folder from the permitted user account. But in roundcube I don't see this folder because they are outside of the namespace INBOX even if i define the namespaces manually like this: $rcmail_config['imap_ns_personal'] = "INBOX."; $rcmail_config['imap_ns_other'] = null; $rcmail_config['imap_ns_shared'] = "#shared."; I activated imap debugging and found the following C: A0002 LIST "" "*" [...] a list of all Mailboxes under INBOX. S: A0002 OK LIST completed C: A0003 LIST #shared. "*" S: A0003 OK LIST completed the second command (LIST #shared "*") is the problem. I don't know if this is RFC conform, but it doesn't work for courier-imap. In my opinion the first argument should be the delimiter, the second argument the mailboxname or wildcard. My mailserver expects something like the following command: C: A0003 LIST "." "#shared.*" I did a quickfix in _list_unsubscribe() and now the shared folders are listed in the settings folder view even when the imap_ns_* flags are not set. But I'm still not able to see them in the mailbox view and the subscribe toggle is always reseted. I think there would be other changes to get that working like this. But I'm pretty sure that my changes are not necessary and it's because of a misconfiguration on my side. But after debugging the code and reading specific reports (#1487657, #1403507) about similar issues I'm still not able to get it working. I would really appreciate any help, suggestions or directions to any tutorials thanks in advance simeon

Custom replies and moving to folders?

I'm hoping to use Roundcube as a portal type interface, where you can login and press a choice of buttons that will send static replies depending on the button, then move those emails to the appropriate folders. What's the best way to start a project like this? Are there any built in functionalities that would make this work? Also - I was never able to get Gmail to work for the IMAP server, but am now just using my server.

Roundtrip address book export/import broken

Hello list: After resolving several issues in LDAP with your help (see other threads), I am now confident to move all contacts to a private LDAP address book. In that process, I realised that the export/import functionality of RC does not seem to work 100%, as exporting works, but re-importing the resulting file into RC does not! How to reproduce: 1) Open Address Book 2) Select several contacts and export to a VCF file (results in a single rcube_contacts.vcf file with all contacts in it) 3) Select a new empty (e.g. LDAP) address book 4) "Import Contacts", and select the single VCF file created in step 2) above 5) The import process fails Expected result: successful re-import of all contacts that we exported before into a new empty address book. Actual result: "Successfully imported 0 contacts." Importing several VCF files that contain only 1 contact per VCF seem to work fine, but of course manually importing individual files is not practical beyond a handful of contacts... So Charles tested the login off-list on my test install. Worked fine. I originally had "Problem connecting to Gmail's IMAP server?" but I copied and pasted the body into the header (by accident, I don't know what I was doing...) and completely forgot to change it back. Also, since this is my first time using a mailing list, I'm not sure how to reply to emails. Plugins contextmenu and keyboard_shortcuts incompatible? And session timeouts again...!

We have contextmenu 1.8 and keyboard_shortcuts 1.4 under RC 0.7.2 installed, and it appears that they are incompatible. The scenario is: Once you have "used" contextmenu just one time (that is, you have right-clicked on a folder or message), keyboard_shortcuts does not respond anymore to any key. Another issue with keyboard_shortcuts (not related to contextmenu) is that if you press the "?" key to display the shortcut help, all of a sudden vertical and horizontal scrollbars do appear and cause a sort of "flicker" because of the screen redraw. And there are some missing strings, but that's a minor issue. All in all, keyboard_shortcuts looks a bit outdated. I've disabled it for now. But, much more important: In the middle of composing this message, I've been thrown back to the RC login screen again because of an invalid or expired session for the %&"!§?= time (see other threads). And while writing this sentence, a red "Request timed out!" at the top of the screen came up. This all is really frustrating and anything but stable.
