Hola a tod@s, Instalé en un servidor roundcube 0.8.4, que se conecta a gmail mediante el protocolo imap para obtener los mensajes de una cuenta gmail. En la cuenta gmail hay muchas carpetas y la bandeja de entrada va muy lenta, hay unos 1000 mensajes. He cambiado el número de filas por pantalla a 20 pero continua lento. La cache esta deshabilitada // Type of IMAP indexes cache. Supported values: 'db', 'apc' and 'memcache'. $rcmail_config['imap_cache'] = null; // Enables messages cache. I can't claim any real skill in configuring apache, all I can do is read readmes and copy and paste for examples and things I have running... So I SEEM to have made some real headway, but have not gotten wireshark going to see if it is really behaving as it seems. I would appreciate any input on a cleaner way to setup Roundcube as a virtual host only over TLS. By editing main.inc.php setting debug_level = 8 and log_session = true. I got a /var/log/roundcube/session file that says: [27-Dec-2012 17:46:08 -0500]: Session authentication failed for 5uhp5ktuaec7bhoj8qgl4slli2; invalid auth cookie sent I see there is a message about this at: http://www.roundcubeforum.net/index.php?topic=10654.0 "turned off $rcmail_config['force_https'] and $rcmail_config['use_https'] (set both to False)" Is this the proper action to take for this error? I already have force_https = false.

My setup is using all stock rpms for Centos 6.3 following: http://www.campworld.net/thewiki/pmwiki.php/LinuxServersCentOS/Cent6VirtMai… I can telnet into Dovecot and see the mail I sent via PostfixAdmin, but Roundcube is not even logging in. Hi there, I did install roundcube on a ubuntu 12.04 box using apt-get I also installed some plugins also using apt-get managesieve version: 5.0 and activated the plugins: $rcmail_config['plugins'] = array('managesieve', 'password'); then in managesieve/config.inc.php I changed the port to 4190 // managesieve server port $rcmail_config['managesieve_port'] = 4190; // managesieve server address, default is localhost. $rcmail_config['managesieve_host'] = 'localhost'; Non the filter tab is presented in the roudcube but click it gives a "not able to access sieve server" error (or some such, I get it in german) and in the rouncube log I get the following error: [25-Dec-2012 09:47:54 +0100]: PHP Error: Unable to connect to managesieve on localhost:4190 in /usr/share/roundcube/plugins/managesieve/managesieve.php on line 286 (GET /?_task=settings&_action=plugin.managesieve) however, if I try to access this port using telnet, it seems to work. root@susanne ~ # telnet localhost 4190 Trying 127.0.0.1... Hi! I have roundcube 0.8.4, with lang_sel plugin enabled. When i change the lang, and after that i login, a get a SERVICE CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE! Error No. [524] The URL is: https://###/roundcube/?_task=mail&_lang_sel=en_GB&_action=plugin.lang_sel If i click on the Mail or Settings, i can use roundcube without error, with the selected language. managesieve: where are the filter rules stored

Now I think there should be a number of default rules predefined like "vacation message" etc. However the only "filter" I see in my filter list is "managesieve" and when I download it, it only shows /* empty list */ thanks for your pointers robert

Hi i have a roundcube-0.3.1,1 with change password module installed on my FreeBSD server. this was working fine and there was nothing wrong with it. today i noticed that , when i try to change my password through settings/password section, it says "New Password Could not be Saved". but actually my password is getting saved. anyone has any suggestion or has faced such problem?

When inserting an URL such as "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SIS_(file_format)" in a message, the link is not clickable, as anything after "/SIS_" ist neither displayed nor recognized by Roundcube as a link anymore (tested with 0.9-git and 0.8.4). SQLite with git clone

Hi, I was under the impression that Roundcube now uses SQLite3 via the PDO driver but I can't seem to get it to work. Hello, in the last few days the german mail provider GMX reduced massively their filter-rules. I've used for over ten years the rule X-BeenThere to move emails from/via mailinglists to a subfolder. This header-filtering is now disabled! Now my incoming mail folder looks very disorganized. I lose track! Is there a possible way to let roundcube do these filtering/moving automatically for me? Or is there an other german recommendable mail provider which offers this functionality? I am willing to pay for this service. Has there been any demand for export/import address book formats other than vcard? vcard seems like a sensible approach but not a lot of clients seem to fully support it in their import and export and getting average users to be able to convert between formats is difficult.

Upgrading from .1-rc2

Hello, We currently are running Roundcube 0.1-rc2 and would like to upgrade to the newest version while keeping the user address lists and settings during this migration. I have tried following the methods listed on the Roundcube site, but have had no luck in getting moved to the newer version. Hei hei, I'm subscribed to lots of mailing lists, not all with the same mail address. I also have configured multiple from addresses in roundcube. What happens to me very often: I post to a list with the wrong from address so a moderator has to view my mail or it's lost. Configure kolab_auth

Hi, I would like to have kolab_auth plugin configured, but I don't know where it hangs. I have an global LDAP-Addressbook, called "Kolab", configured in ldap_public. This name I set in kolab_auth's config.inc.php, but I get the error-message: "Unable to start TLS, cannot connect ldap-Server, last tried :389" or something similar. Notice that the error message do not provide any hostname which seems strange to me. Should be localhost... regards, Henning

Hi RCU, I've just found a problem with my multi domains install of RCU 0.8.4 on my dedicte server (gentoo@OVH)... RCU is installed on a vhost which is pointed by many sub domains lets say 100 sub domains formed like this wm.domain.net, wm.dn2.org, wm.site42.fr, wm.nota1337.com, etc... People can login for any email adresse using any of this sub domains, example : login for contact(a)domain.net through wm.domain.netAND wm.dn2.org ; and this is what I need (some of my clients have multiples sites but will stay ont the same host for both, ...) Problem is in the user account management, when some one logs in for contact(a)domain.net through wm.domain.net and then throughwm.dn2.org this creates 2 distincts users in the DB (table users) : - user_id = 1 | username =contact(a)domain.net |mail_host = domain.net - user_id = 2 | username = contact(a)domain.net | mail_host = dn2.org It's perfectly working except when you have adresses attached to one user that you won't find when login through the other host and user... I don't know exactly what is the use of the mail_host in DB but what would be perfect is either to ignore the mail_host when loging (and have a unique constraint on the username DB field) or to use a mail_host from the mail used as login instead of the host on which the user is... I've spend hours on this without finding any lead on how to configure RCU to have "uniques accounts" no matter what the host is... Is anyone having a clue for me ? THX in advance A.G

Hi there, my question is not RCU specific. I'm using RCU with qmail with no authentication for local account and for any external email I do smtp relay to my provider. Recently my provider changed normal smtp at 21 port to the authenticated 587 port and now I can't authenticate with normal qmail. Which solution can you recommend me? -- Saludos!! Hello I have just upgraded my Roundcube from 0.5 to 0.8.4 in the hope that filters will be available. I seem to have some issue with the mail server installation. The current setup is: - FreeBSD - sendmail - two remote mailboxes, both through IMAPS (and SMTP), 'main.inc.php': $rcmail_config['default_host'] = array('ssl://abc:993', 'ssl://mail.def:993'); The question is, what else do I need to install on the machine Roundcube runs on / the remote mail hosts? Hello As this was asked quite a few times on the mailing lists and the forum, we now added a utility to help you changing settings stored in user preferences: bin/moduserprefs.sh Usage: moduserprefs.sh [--user=user-id] pref-name [pref-value|--delete] --user User ID in local database --delete Unset the given preference If for example you want to reset all your user's message listing order, simply execute $ bin/userprefs.sh message_sort_col date Beside changing user prefs you can also unset them and make all users fall back to the default value from the global configuration: $ bin/userprefs.sh skin --delete This new utility is currently only available in git-master but will be part of the upcoming 0.9-beta release. hi, 1. I just downloaded release 0.2.1, replaced all files and load url http://www.../installer/. by step 3 is mentioned that "skin_path" and "locale_string" is missing but after adding these two it says they should be replaced by "skin" and "language". these two are already in the config file. is this an error of the installer rountine? Also "db_backend" is listed but this one is also in the db-inc.php file. 2. SMTP settings. my mail server needs pop before smtp authentification. so which SMTP AUTH type is the right one? thanks for any help jay

Hi, I wonder if that is possible. I tried to just copy the files in skins and plugins/*/skins from that 0.8.1 to my 0.7.3 (has to be that version due to my version of kolab), but roundcube behaves strange then. E.g. ome items are not clickable (calendars etc.). Does anyone run larry ore some other nice theme on 0.7.3 (tried to install litecube-f as well, but I can't select it as theme in roiundcube) regards, Henning

IMAP Search Timeouts

Good Day Everyone, I'm having an interesting problem with large mailboxes, searches, and roundcube errors. It seems that any time a IMAP search takes more than a minute to return results Roundcube returns a "Connection to storage server failed." error. If you re-run the search after the error you do end up getting the results without issue. Here are the details: - Roundcube 0.8.2 - CentOS 6.3 - php-5.3.18-1.el6.remi.x86_64 - mysql-5.5.28-1.el6.remi.x86_64 - Courier IMAP 4.2.0 - up-imapproxy-1.2.7-2.el6.x86_64 - memcached-1.4.4-3.el6.x86_64 The problem occurs with or without imapproxy and memcache in place. In addition to that, we also packed some more fixes into this release, one of them a recently reported XSS vulnerability. Hello folks, We kind of made it a tradition in Roundcube to add some nasty bugs with every second release we publish :-) This time a pull request accidentally was merged into the release branch instead of git-master where we usually do the testing. The effect of this bug is the compose screen randomly reloading and likely loosing the contents you're writing. There's a patch you can download [1] and apply to any 0.8.3 installation. Hello, I am using Fedora17 and a rpm version of roundcube. On this rpm packaging, configuration main.inc.php and db.inc.php are both stored in /etc/roundcubemail/ Also, I use the managesieve plugin and I have to modify the plugin port from 2000 to 4190 in the plugin configuration setting (/usr/share/roundcubemail/plugins/managesieve/config.inc.php) As the RPM package updates from time to time, the config.inc.php gets overridden. I have without success to set the port in the main.inc.php. Is there a standard way or a best practice to set $rcmail_config['managesieve_port'] = 4190; in /etc/roundcube/..... that allows to override any previous setting? Thanks,

Issues with Plugin contextmenu 1.9 and RC 0.8.2

Hi there, anybody using contextmenu 1.9 with RC 0.8.2 here without any problems? What I'm seeing is that contextmenu seems to use the Larry skin no matter which skin the user decided to use. This leads to a pretty strange (and larry-like) display upon right-clicking on a mail when using the default skin. The last entry in the change log of v1.9 is saying: > 2012 01 21 > ========== > * Update after r5781 > * Add inital support for Larry But it appears that contextmenu v1.9 does support the Larry skin ONLY from this point on...? I tried to downgrade to contextmenu v1.8, but that leads to even stranger results with RC 0.8.2 (no left hand icons at all anymore, the text of the menu items is exceeding the borders of the menu etc.). Hello all! A question about the password plugin. When I login to my email-account with roundcube, I connect to the service that runs on port 143 and ask there, if I may login, right? dovecot is running on port 143 and looks in his passwordfile and permits the login or does not, right? For sending email, sasldb is used on MTA-side to permit sending or not. So when I want to use the passwd-plugin with sasl, it only changes the passwd in the sasldb for sending email, the password in the passwordfile of dovecot is not changed and the user must login with the password once specified, right? Is there a way, to let the users change their password themselves without requiering administrative intervention? Kind regards Andreas

There are two $this->db_handle->isError() calls in ./program/include/rcube_mdb2.php. That has been removed in master. If anyone knows how to obtain the IP address of sender's of emails when both users are Roundcube email users, please let me know. I am trying to determine the actual IP address of the senders of emails. We are both Roundcube users but we have different internet service providers. Roundcube does have a facility to show some Header source but it does not show actual IP addresses. Is there some way to determine the actual IP address from whence the sender sent the email when they were using the Roundcube system and sending their email to another Roundcube user? Any help is very greatly appreciated. David

I would need to be able to see all my mail, on different IMAP servers and different accounts, entering RC once or by opening multiple instances of RC on different tab of the same browser. >From the documentation I understand that you can not see multiple IMAP servers simultaneously from a single RC. I also tried to use RC on different tab of the same browser but it gives error on sessions. I tried with both PHP sessions or putting them on a database, it does not work. Is There a plugin, at least, to siwtch quickly from one server to another ? However RC works very well I am fully satisfied. Upgrading to 0.8.2 - any plugins not work?

I'm thinking about upgrading to 0.8.2 but wanted to see if anyone had any issues with plugins. The ones I have installed are: 'managesieve', 'markasjunk2', 'password', 'rcguard', 'forward', -- During my initial install, I had issues with markasjunk2 - i think that the version I was trying to install only worked with the svn version of RC. (or at least that's what I thought) Should these be ok? Any issues so far with any of them? Also, I love the plugin community. I've been able to completely switch away from my former webmail package and users have been thrilled with Roundcube. markasjunk2 is one of my favorites. I have it feeding spamassassin and razor2. :-) cheers! -- j

Greetings, im not entirely certain its possible, as it would be outside the command scope so far as i understand Roundcube, but I'm trying to make a button which essentially serves as a link to a webpage outside of the roundcube environment. the code i have so far is: $this->add_button(array( 'type' => 'link', 'label' => 'Anti Spam', 'command' => 'plugin.as224', 'class' => 'rlink', 'classact' => 'rlink active', 'title' => 'buttontitle', ), 'taskbar'); the command is a registered hook of init() for the plugin, although once the hook is called during click, im not certain i have any code thats capable of opening the link. 'command' seems limited to things roundcube does naturally, or its plugins wish to do.

Automatic lowercase of login

I noticed that Roundcube is automatically lowercasing usernames when the first login fails. In program/include/rcmail.php (0.7.2), if ($imap_login = $this->imap->connect($host, $username_lc, $pass $imap_port, $imap_ssl)) $username = $username_lc; I think there's a bug here: the Roundcube user that gets created in the database uses the original capitalization. As an example, our IMAP server is Dovecot and our accounts are case-sensitive. That means user(a)example.com != USER(a)example.com, for better or worse. We've got $rcmail_config['login_lc'] = false. I've just created an IMAP account for roundcube(a)viabit.com. If I go to log in to Roundcube -- and do so as ROUNDCUBE(a)viabit.com -- the login fails. So, the username gets silently lowercased and the second try succeeds transparently to the user. But, the user in the Roundcube database has the capitalization that I entered: roundcube=# select username from users order by user_id DESC limit 1; username ---------------------- ROUNDCUBE(a)viabit.com (1 row) If I now log in with the correct capitalization, a second user is created: roundcube=# select username from users order by user_id DESC limit 2; username ---------------------- roundcube(a)viabit.com ROUNDCUBE(a)viabit.com (2 rows) This has confused a few of our users, because they see different stuff when they use a different capitalization to log in. My intent was that this should fail; that's why our IMAP server is case-sensitive in the first place. As far as our IMAP server is concerned, roundcube@ and ROUNDCUBE@ are two completely different people, so a client should not assume that they're the same under any circumstances. But in any case, if you *do* assume that they're the same, then they should share the same contacts, settings, etc.

Hi all, greetings, I confess I am a little ashamed to ask such question, but.... how to download some plugins, like for example, the 'additional_message_headers'? Why I ask: From the plugin repository page (1) I found the link to the plugin I want (2). There I have a list of files, that when clicked shows the code for the file - (3) for example. For this plugin (and probably many others) where can I find specific download instructions in a practical way? For many other plugins I was able to download the tgz package, how to proceed with this one? Are there specific instructions for those on github? Or should I look for generic github instructions? defaults in the search criteria list

Using rc 0.5.3 on Linux. In the search box in the top-right corner, when I click the little magnifying glass symbol, a list drops down, containing several criteria: Subject, Sender, Recipient, Copy, Bcc, Entire message, All folders. The accounts have several IMAP folders. We use the search box to, well, search for stuff in those folders. The problem is that the default selection is, I think, Subject and Sender. We want the default selection to be Subject, Recipient, and maybe Entire message too. I went into the main config file and did this: $rcmail_config['search_mods'] = array('*' => array('subject'=>1, 'to'=>1)); Then I created a new folder, clicked on it in the folder list, then clicked the magnifying glass in the Search box. omnis network email fail

I am getting login failed messages. I am also unable to change the password. I get error has occurred messages. Anybody else having this problem?

Hello list: I started using RC 0.8.1 yesterday, and wanted to congratulate everybody involved for a great piece of software: Thank you! LDAP has significantly improved, and I am now able to sync all fields from my iOS devices with an LDAP backend that can also be edited via RC. An execption are the two fields birthDate and anniversary. The issue is that RC stores them by default in "Y-m-d" (yyyy-mm-dd) format, but iOS expects the field to be in Unix timestamp format: 1) So when I create a birthday field as "1975-09-24" in RC, it gets stored as "1975-09-24" in LDAP, and in turn this is displayed on iOS as "1 January 1970" (the default value), because "1975-09-24" it is obviously not a valid timestamp. 2) The other way round, when I create a birthday field as "1975-09-24" in iOS, the field is stored as 180741600 in LDAP, and then CORRECTLY displayed on RC as "24 September 1975": so all dandy up to here. However, when I try to edit that (correctly displayed) date field in RC, the behaviour outlined in 1) converts the timestamp to "Y-m-d" format in LDAP, breaking the field for iOS. In summary: round-trip editing of date fields does not work at the moment with RC and iOS. I have tried to update rcmail_format_date_col() from program/steps/addressbook/func.inc (using date format string "s" for timestamp), and format_date() from program/steps/addressbook/func.inc but RC still writes the date field as "Y-m-d", independent of what I use in rcmail_format_date_col(). Any ideas how to fix this final issue? Thank you in advance, Achim

I just learned about a cool feature which last pass uses... restrict login to a specific country or countries It would certainly be a benefit to me to be able to restrict logins (in my case) to canada & us from the individual setup screen per client. I have seen multiple instances of spam injection into roundcube via a hacked client. Always by a foreign country 'hacker'. Limiting to certain countries by IP would not eliminate those hackers which are proxied somehow into CA/US, but it would sure help.

LDAP email addresses

Hello again: When I create up to 3 email address values via LDAP in iOS (mapping in RC: 'email' => 'mail'), all of them are nicely displayed in the RC address book. When I proceed to edit any of those 3 email entries in RC, only the modified entry will be written back to LDAP, the other two disappear, which leads to data loss. How can this be avoided? Furthermore, would it be possible to map those (max 3 email values) to the "work", "home" and "other" email fields with LDAP like it is possible in the SQL address book? If I choose 'email:work' => 'mail', 'email:home' => 'mail', 'email:other' => 'mail', as the mapping, I of course see all entries prefixed with all 3 categories. What I am looking for is to have mail[0] map to email:work, mail[1] to email:home and mail[2] to email:work. Cheers, Achim

LDAP import/export from RC generated vCards

Hello again: It appears that RC uses some tricks to generate valid LDAP records upon import. The following setting 'required_fields' => array('cn', 'givenName', 'sn', 'mail' ), populates all 4 fields correctly for records that a) have a value for field "FN" that contains at least two words b) have a value for field "EMAIL;type=INTERNET" So FN is split into givenName (all but last word in FN) and sn (= last word in FN) nicely. Again, this only works for records like "Joe Bloe" but not for records like "Joe" (with only one word in FN!) So to be able to import more records, I changed to: 'required_fields' => array('cn', 'sn', 'mail' ), (dropping 'givenName'). This indeed imports more records (as expected), but does unfortunately not populate the field 'givenName' anymore with the splitting logic indicated above. In fact, when we also leave out 'mail' from the required_fields array, no mail addresses are imported at all, even though the vCards contain them. The part about givenName is a matter of opinion, but the fact that perfectly valid email addresses are not imported into the LDAP 'mail' field from an existing "EMAIL;type=INTERNET" vCard field if mail is not part of 'required_fields' surprises me: shouldn't RC try to import as much as possible from vCard, and not only the minimum (required) fields?
