Hi, in a previous mail I asked how disable mail sort in Roundcube and ALEC reply: Add this option name (message_sort_col) to 'dont_override' array in config file. Now, If I click in list option there arent't option to sort mail,(this is ok) but if I click on a column such as Subject,Sender,.. Roundcube order mail by this column. Can I disable this? Greetings, im not entirely certain its possible, as it would be outside the command scope so far as i understand Roundcube, but I'm trying to make a button which essentially serves as a link to a webpage outside of the roundcube environment. the code i have so far is: $this->add_button(array( 'type' => 'link', 'label' => 'Anti Spam', 'command' => 'plugin.as224', 'class' => 'rlink', 'classact' => 'rlink active', 'title' => 'buttontitle', ), 'taskbar'); the command is a registered hook of init() for the plugin, although once the hook is called during click, im not certain i have any code thats capable of opening the link. 'command' seems limited to things roundcube does naturally, or its plugins wish to do.

Automatic lowercase of login

I noticed that Roundcube is automatically lowercasing usernames when the first login fails. In program/include/rcmail.php (0.7.2), if ($imap_login = $this->imap->connect($host, $username_lc, $pass $imap_port, $imap_ssl)) $username = $username_lc; I think there's a bug here: the Roundcube user that gets created in the database uses the original capitalization. As an example, our IMAP server is Dovecot and our accounts are case-sensitive. That means user(a)example.com != USER(a)example.com, for better or worse. We've got $rcmail_config['login_lc'] = false. I've just created an IMAP account for roundcube(a)viabit.com. If I go to log in to Roundcube -- and do so as ROUNDCUBE(a)viabit.com -- the login fails. So, the username gets silently lowercased and the second try succeeds transparently to the user. But, the user in the Roundcube database has the capitalization that I entered: roundcube=# select username from users order by user_id DESC limit 1; username ---------------------- ROUNDCUBE(a)viabit.com (1 row) If I now log in with the correct capitalization, a second user is created: roundcube=# select username from users order by user_id DESC limit 2; username ---------------------- roundcube(a)viabit.com ROUNDCUBE(a)viabit.com (2 rows) This has confused a few of our users, because they see different stuff when they use a different capitalization to log in. My intent was that this should fail; that's why our IMAP server is case-sensitive in the first place. As far as our IMAP server is concerned, roundcube@ and ROUNDCUBE@ are two completely different people, so a client should not assume that they're the same under any circumstances. But in any case, if you *do* assume that they're the same, then they should share the same contacts, settings, etc.

How to download some plugins - may need docs fix?

Hi all, greetings, I confess I am a little ashamed to ask such question, but.... how to download some plugins, like for example, the 'additional_message_headers'? Why I ask: From the plugin repository page (1) I found the link to the plugin I want (2). There I have a list of files, that when clicked shows the code for the file - (3) for example. For this plugin (and probably many others) where can I find specific download instructions in a practical way? For many other plugins I was able to download the tgz package, how to proceed with this one? Are there specific instructions for those on github? Or should I look for generic github instructions? defaults in the search criteria list

Using rc 0.5.3 on Linux. In the search box in the top-right corner, when I click the little magnifying glass symbol, a list drops down, containing several criteria: Subject, Sender, Recipient, Copy, Bcc, Entire message, All folders. The accounts have several IMAP folders. We use the search box to, well, search for stuff in those folders. The problem is that the default selection is, I think, Subject and Sender. We want the default selection to be Subject, Recipient, and maybe Entire message too. I went into the main config file and did this: $rcmail_config['search_mods'] = array('*' => array('subject'=>1, 'to'=>1)); Then I created a new folder, clicked on it in the folder list, then clicked the magnifying glass in the Search box. The selected criteria were Subject and Sender. It did not seem to obey the change I made in the config file. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks! -- Florin Andrei http://florin.myip.org/

omnis network email fail

Hello list: I started using RC 0.8.1 yesterday, and wanted to congratulate everybody involved for a great piece of software: Thank you! LDAP has significantly improved, and I am now able to sync all fields from my iOS devices with an LDAP backend that can also be edited via RC. An execption are the two fields birthDate and anniversary. The issue is that RC stores them by default in "Y-m-d" (yyyy-mm-dd) format, but iOS expects the field to be in Unix timestamp format: 1) So when I create a birthday field as "1975-09-24" in RC, it gets stored as "1975-09-24" in LDAP, and in turn this is displayed on iOS as "1 January 1970" (the default value), because "1975-09-24" it is obviously not a valid timestamp. 2) The other way round, when I create a birthday field as "1975-09-24" in iOS, the field is stored as 180741600 in LDAP, and then CORRECTLY displayed on RC as "24 September 1975": so all dandy up to here. However, when I try to edit that (correctly displayed) date field in RC, the behaviour outlined in 1) converts the timestamp to "Y-m-d" format in LDAP, breaking the field for iOS. In summary: round-trip editing of date fields does not work at the moment with RC and iOS. I have tried to update rcmail_format_date_col() from program/steps/addressbook/func.inc (using date format string "s" for timestamp), and format_date() from program/steps/addressbook/func.inc but RC still writes the date field as "Y-m-d", independent of what I use in rcmail_format_date_col(). I just learned about a cool feature which last pass uses... restrict login to a specific country or countries It would certainly be a benefit to me to be able to restrict logins (in my case) to canada & us from the individual setup screen per client. I have seen multiple instances of spam injection into roundcube via a hacked client. Always by a foreign country 'hacker'. Limiting to certain countries by IP would not eliminate those hackers which are proxied somehow into CA/US, but it would sure help.

LDAP email addresses

Hello again: When I create up to 3 email address values via LDAP in iOS (mapping in RC: 'email' => 'mail'), all of them are nicely displayed in the RC address book. When I proceed to edit any of those 3 email entries in RC, only the modified entry will be written back to LDAP, the other two disappear, which leads to data loss. How can this be avoided? Furthermore, would it be possible to map those (max 3 email values) to the "work", "home" and "other" email fields with LDAP like it is possible in the SQL address book? If I choose 'email:work' => 'mail', 'email:home' => 'mail', 'email:other' => 'mail', as the mapping, I of course see all entries prefixed with all 3 categories. What I am looking for is to have mail[0] map to email:work, mail[1] to email:home and mail[2] to email:work. Cheers, Achim

LDAP import/export from RC generated vCards

Hello again: It appears that RC uses some tricks to generate valid LDAP records upon import. The following setting 'required_fields' => array('cn', 'givenName', 'sn', 'mail' ), populates all 4 fields correctly for records that a) have a value for field "FN" that contains at least two words b) have a value for field "EMAIL;type=INTERNET" So FN is split into givenName (all but last word in FN) and sn (= last word in FN) nicely. Again, this only works for records like "Joe Bloe" but not for records like "Joe" (with only one word in FN!) So to be able to import more records, I changed to: 'required_fields' => array('cn', 'sn', 'mail' ), (dropping 'givenName'). This indeed imports more records (as expected), but does unfortunately not populate the field 'givenName' anymore with the splitting logic indicated above. In fact, when we also leave out 'mail' from the required_fields array, no mail addresses are imported at all, even though the vCards contain them. The part about givenName is a matter of opinion, but the fact that perfectly valid email addresses are not imported into the LDAP 'mail' field from an existing "EMAIL;type=INTERNET" vCard field if mail is not part of 'required_fields' surprises me: shouldn't RC try to import as much as possible from vCard, and not only the minimum (required) fields? Hello all, Sorry for my approximative descrition, US-Eng is not my native langage and this is my first day in the list. I have several emails servers (3) for my users, they are called: machine1.domain.tld, machine2.domain.tld .. $rcmail_config['default_host'] = array('machine1.domain.tld', 'machine2.domain.tld' .. When a user log for the first to the RC service to machine1, the address userX(a)machine1.domain.tld is automatically added in its Preference/Identities. This address, with the machine part included (userX(a)machine1.domain.tld), is working well in my localnetwork but not when replying from a remote site. So every user get wrongs replys and have to setup the reply address in Setting/Identities to obtain a correct syntax. userX(a)machine.domain.tld --> userX(a)domain.tld Is it possible to configure RC not to use this automatic mode or any solution to bypass this problem ? Hi, after an upgrade from Roundcube 0.7.3 to 0.8.1 some users are unable to login and receive this error: (with debug=4) PHP Error in /var/www/rcubewebmail/program/include/rcube_template.php (431): Error loading template for mail SERVICE CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE! Error loading template for mail (with debug=1) SERVICE CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE! Error No. [501] In MySQL user's preference they have something like this (note the skin setting, almost all users with the problem have the same skin setting): a:3:{s:16:"message_sort_col";s:4:"date";s:18:"message_sort_order";s:4:"DESC";s:4:"skin";N;} The only way to resolve the issue is a query like this: UPDATE `roundcubemail`.`users` SET `preferences` = NULL WHERE `users`.`user_id` =105; But I cannot empty the preferences for all of my users. How can solve this issue? I would like to set for all users the "larry" skin, now some users are using the "litecube" skin. Hi Thomas, Can I suggest for future releases, the installer has a --ignore-suhosin (warnings) option? I (and I guess plenty of others) have this disabled via httpd so it is not a global php bypass, yes I know its a matter of editing two files to get around it, but still, be nice if there's an option, or, maybe a " N/y " process question. Login with wrong Password.

Hello people. I´m having a problem when login with my roundcube 0.5.1 When I give a wrong password can´t login, which is ok. When I give the correct password, for example qwerty123 login is ok. But the problem is that when I give qwerty123 follow by any character, for example qwert1234 login is also ok. Could someone help me to find where the problem in my roundcube config is? too many connections

Hi, i have the following problem. I encounter issues for connecting to the imap server. The message "Could not connect to IMAP server" is issued sometimes. I already wrote a ticket to my hoster and he said, that my client is opening too many connections to the imap server and so some of them get blocked. Is there a possibility in the roundcube configuration, where i can configure that only one connection is used ? Regards Thomas

Authentication failures on syslog

Hi folks, I am running roundcube 0.7 for some years now with only one issue: besides I can use roundcube without a (noticeable) problem it logs a lot of authentication failures on syslog. My dovecot installation uses pam over ldap (if that matters) as auth db, but it only happens when auth from RC, neither Thunderbird or SOGo behaves the same, so I assume this is a RC issue. Sample from syslog, keeps repeating on each action on roundcube: Aug 13 14:47:48 imap-server dovecot-auth: pam_unix(dovecot:auth): authentication failure; logname= uid=0 euid=0 tty=dovecot ruser=foo.bar rhost=x.x.x.x user=foo.bar Aug 13 14:47:48 imap-server dovecot-auth: pam_unix(dovecot:session): session opened for user foo.bar by (uid=0) Aug 13 14:47:48 imap-server dovecot-auth: pam_unix(dovecot:session): session closed for user foo.bar Don't have a clue why this happens or where to start hunting the issue. Please be kind and help me where should I look for more info so I can fix this. Let me know if you need further info. Hello folks, We're proud to finally announce the release of version 0.8 with the brand new skin, codename "Larry", becoming the new default UI for Roundcube. After two preview releases and a lot of fine-tuning, the new design by http://bueroflint.com has now grown up. But to all the nostalgics out there: don't worry! The old skin still remains part of the package and will be maintained for at least one more major release. Beside the new UI, this version also contains more bugfixes and mprovements (see ) as well as some code refactorings. message view scrolls off

What would be nice is if the message view heading section ( the bar that contains from/date/subject blah blah blah) was static, and did NOT scroll off when scrolling down the message list. few weeks ago moved from squirrelmail after 7 or more years to roundcube, did not take long at all to customise it, very nice and impressed, its very professional looking, makes SM look like something thrown together by a 12yo on a rainy afternoon, but the above is about the only pet peave I've got, overall awesome job.

How to configure timeout on external http calls

hey, We are facing a problem with tiny_mc plugin where users seems to be inserting media/images by placing external urls which doesn't seem to respond for ever. As a result, all our httpd processes are waiting on those external network calls and affecting rest of the users. We have temporarily disabled tiny_mc and looking for ways to configure timeout either globally in roundcube or specifically for this plugin for ALL external http calls that roundcube makes. upgrade from 0.3.1 to 0.7.2: some folders unsubscribed

Hello, list. Recently we upgraded our roundcube installation from 0.3.1 to 0.7.2 using standard procedure described in UPGRADING (installto.sh) During update i was asked to update MySQL schema, so i agreed. Right after upgrade i logged in to my box and saw that everything is fine, all subscribed folders were present. After clicking on several folders and verifing that i can read letters i moved to preferences (or settings, i'm using russian interface) and saw in folders tab that i have unsubscribed folders, after that i returned to mail screen and saw that some folders dissapered, after that i subsribed them again. Seems that this bug affected some of users because people stated complainging that folders are disappearing from their email clients and roundcube roster. Can anybody advice where i can start digging for solution? Should i inspect roundcubes MySQL DB or my imap server?

Hello, Just upgraded from 0.4.2 to 0.8-rc but i cannot save, add, modify any existing contact. Looks like my contact table structure is obsolete. Dear All, Auto Drafts feature of roundcube creates no of dummy mails in Trash folder when user takes time to compose mail. It possibly first saves mail in drafts folder then delete that mail before saving the new draft and put it in Trash folder. Is there any way to get rid of this issue ???

google contact does not work

Moin, I installed google_contacts, but there is no new entry in the address book menu. I use Roundcube 0.7, installed in /opt/www/roundcubemail-0.7. The tarball google_contacts-2.11.tar.gz was extracted to /opt/www/roundcubemail-0.7/plugins/google_contacts/ Regarding to http://www.grosseosterhues.com/2011/08/adding-google-contacts-to-roundcube- webmail/ I created the new database table - but it is empty: mysql> select * from google_contacts; Empty set (0.00 sec) Gdata is installed in /opt/www/roundcubemail-0.7/program/lib/Zend/Gdata So, it seems to me that everything should be fine - exect the fact that is doesn't work. User preferences

I am trying to change a subset of user's preferences, i.e. timezone, logout_purge etc. Working with preferences seems to be pretty hairy, if the structure isn't to roundcube's liking roundcube seems to choke rather than ignore preferences. Is there some way of updating preferences in mass without going through the interface?

How do I log in as 'user' instead of 'user@domain.tld'?

Hello, I have been using RC for quite some time and really like it. On updating the versions, I have found that at times, I have to log in as 'user(a)domain.tld' instead of 'user' (which I prefer as the server is used to host a small number of users). For version 0.8-beta which was around some time ago this worked like a treat. When I have just installed the current 0.8-rc, this seems to have broken. I now have to log in as 'user(a)domain.tld'. Hi! We're using RC 0.5.2 with sqlite on Ubuntu (installed as deb packages). Now that recent versions of RC don't include support for sqlite (at least, there are no roundcube-sqlite package available), how do I migrate DB backend to mysql? Should I care at all? Hi, I have install latest stable roundcube version but it's very slow on account of 1000 mail in Inbox. Bug: missing text in forwarded messages

Hello everybody, currently we are using roundcube at http://webmail.ntua.gr/, serving more than 35 mail servers in our university and we are extremely happy with it. There is a bug reported by users that affects certain messages when forwarded, or replied, inline. These messages contain an HTML part (just it or plus an alternative plain part and other attachments). When forwarding or replying and "Compose HTML messages" is set to "never" the HTML part is used but several pieces of the text are missing. Such a message, slightly modified, is available at: http://noc.ntua.gr/~christia/tmp/message.txt The pieces of text dropped out are the ones that are highlighted blue in the HTML part. It has, probably, something to do with roundcube's HTML parser and the fact that the syntax of the HTML part contains many errors. Tested in versions 0.8-RC and older (back to 0.5). Roundcube managesieve plugin

Hi, I am using the latest stable version of Roundcube (0.7.2). I have enabled the managesieve plugin and got it working with my Dovecot2 installation. The issue I am facing at the moment is that the iMAP server uses a namespace of INBOX.<foldername>. When I create rules using the managesieve plugin, the INBOX. Namespace is ignore: # Sieve filter require ["fileinto"]; # rule:[Facebook] if allof (header :contains "From" "@facebookmail.com") { fileinto "Facebook"; stop; } It should be: Fileinto "INBOX.Facebook"; I have searched and found the svn log showing when this feature was added into the managesieve plugin (back in version 1.2). Not sure what I am doing wrong here. Any help would be appreciated. Pritpal

0.8-RC - Moving contact to group he's already in returns error

Hello, Since yesterday I'm testing the RC of 0.8 with the new Larry skin. Well done! I experienced a weird behavior, when trying to move (Drag&Drop) a contact into a contact group. If the contact is NOT a member of the contact group, the move works -> Successfully added the contacts to this group. But if the contact is ALREADY a member of the contact group, the move returns an error -> An error occured! An error occured while saving. See picture of error attached. In my opinion this error is rather confusing. Shouldn't an error like "This contact is already in the contact group" appear? Anyone can confirm this error? cheers

hi! I'm looking they way to modify many account's signatures, althought I can edit html in database, I can't see the formatted html. This is cause sometimes I need to edit something of my 25 accounts and have not access to every account's webmail. Roundcube vacation setup with exim virtual users

Hello, I have installed the roundcube vacation message plugin https://sourceforge.net/projects/rcubevacation/ I have installed it on our server but don't know to configure it. We are on Freebsd, with exim, dovecot, and maildir. Our users are virtual users and do not have server access. Can anyone help me how I set this up with exim? From what I understand the roundcube vacation plugin requires a .forward file in the users home dir, however because our users are virtual they don't have their own home dir. Anyone know how I can set this up? Thanks in advance, any advice is GREATLY appreciated. Kristin

Key/value store support

Are there any plans to support a key/value store such as Cassandra or Voldemort as a database backend for roundcube in the future? I have been working with Cassandra for a while now and can attest to it's ability to scale (not only in the data center but between geographically disperate data centers), which is sorely lacking in the crop of databases Roundcube currently supports.

Simultaneous logins from different computers?

While testing Roundcube, I've noticed that I can't be logged in with the same IMAP credentials on two different computers accessing the same installation of Roundcube. Clarification: Computer 1 is logged into "http://www.website.com/roundcube/" successfully. If I open a different browser and access the same URL from the same computer, I can login fine. Computer 2 tries to login to "http://www.website.com/roundcube/" and gets the following error in the error log: [14-May-2012 17:07:15 -0500]: IMAP Error: Login failed for LOGININFO@com from IPADDRESS. AUTHENTICATE PLAIN: Authentication failed. in ****/roundcube/program/include/rcube_imap.php on line 205 (POST ****/roundcube/?_task=login&_action=login) If I log out of Computer 1 and wait a little bit, I can login from Computer 2 without an error. Is this behavior standard, or if my installation screwed up?

list and subscribe to shared folders in rc (with courier-imap as backend)

Dear list, I have a small mailserver with around 200 accounts and I'm using roundcube (0.7) as the primary webmail interface after migrating from squirrelmail 1 year ago. I'm now trying to get shared folders to work with my courier-imap mail server (4.8.0-3 on debian squeeze). After the configuration of a simple virtual shared folder in a testaccount (via the shared folder plugin), I'm able to access and subscribe to this folder from the permitted user account. But in roundcube I don't see this folder because they are outside of the namespace INBOX even if i define the namespaces manually like this: $rcmail_config['imap_ns_personal'] = "INBOX."; $rcmail_config['imap_ns_other'] = null; $rcmail_config['imap_ns_shared'] = "#shared."; I activated imap debugging and found the following C: A0002 LIST "" "*" [...] a list of all Mailboxes under INBOX. S: A0002 OK LIST completed C: A0003 LIST #shared. "*" S: A0003 OK LIST completed the second command (LIST #shared "*") is the problem. I don't know if this is RFC conform, but it doesn't work for courier-imap. In my opinion the first argument should be the delimiter, the second argument the mailboxname or wildcard. My mailserver expects something like the following command: C: A0003 LIST "." "#shared.*" I did a quickfix in _list_unsubscribe() and now the shared folders are listed in the settings folder view even when the imap_ns_* flags are not set. But I'm still not able to see them in the mailbox view and the subscribe toggle is always reseted. I think there would be other changes to get that working like this. But I'm pretty sure that my changes are not necessary and it's because of a misconfiguration on my side. But after debugging the code and reading specific reports (#1487657, #1403507) about similar issues I'm still not able to get it working. Custom replies and moving to folders?

I'm hoping to use Roundcube as a portal type interface, where you can login and press a choice of buttons that will send static replies depending on the button, then move those emails to the appropriate folders. What's the best way to start a project like this? Are there any built in functionalities that would make this work? Also - I was never able to get Gmail to work for the IMAP server, but am now just using my server.
