Auto-save drafts folder?

Has the option of an auto-save to Drafts folder similar to what gmail does ever been brought up? I have a dialup user who gets disconnected on occasion. This has happened more than once while she is composing an email and loses everything she just typed.. -- There is no "I" in team, but there is "Iran" in "Uranium"..

CVS not refreshing inbox

I updated to the latest CVS this morning and it seems that the INBOX is no longer getting refreshed on login. I have to click on another folder then click back on the inbox to get new messages. When i write this text in spanish in round cube webmail composer: "Esta es una prueba en espa�ol y con m�s y m�s acentos" The text that de program sent is this: "Esta es una prueba en espa ol y con m s y m s acentos" This is a problem with de charset and fail with every charsets. Hello, first I want to say that RoundCube is (or will be) what I was looking for a long time...I tried different products like open-xchange, egroupware, horde and squirrelmail. Sure, all these products offer a lot more features, but configuration is often a pain (e.g. OX requires LDAP). No interface is as nice and clean as the one of roundcube. I currently running a gentoo based vmail server with a postfix, courier-imap, cyrus-sasl, postgresql setup with an amavisd with dcc, razor, spamassassin, f-prot and clamav. Therefore anything in the "backoffice" is running nice and fast...but I have to improve the "frontoffice". Currently I'm using Mailzu for accessing the spam queue, RoundCube for webmail, horde for calendar...I wish I could integrate them all... I'm missing a few things in RoundCube (I know that some of them are already mentioned as feature request, but anyway I want to compile the whole list), ranked by how desperate I want the feature :) : - Threaded View for the email listing (e.g. sort Emails by thread) - A preview window below the email listing - FCKedit Support in the Compose Email Textarea (shouldn't be to difficult according to the fckedit homepage: http://wiki.fckeditor.net/Developer's_Guide/Integration/PHP) - Some more fields at the address book (e.g. Street, City, Phone, Mobile...) - A calendar - Mouse-Resizable column widths for the email listing - A file storage for quickly up- and downloading files - Accessing postgresql stored emails (Amavis Spam Queue) Just to add, there are two annoying bugs, the first is the support for german umlauts, which wont be shown at common mail clients. The second is that roundcube wont work nice on konqueror, which is kde's default webbrowser, somethings wrong with the column order... I really love this project and I hope that it will improve fast, if I can be of any use plz let me know. Btw. Is RoundCube currently an "one-man-show"? What are the features u all want? Maybe we could make a small list with the most wanted features, so the developer could concentrate on them first? Greetz Alex

Hi, I could not find a mailing list archive so I'm posting a message i believe has been posted several times already.... The letters öäåÖÄÅ don't show up correctly, see the following text: * Veckans bÃ¤sta erbjudanden frÃ¥n Misco.se!* If I choose to display the page as UTF-8 in the browser it's OK. I tried to change the file: /program/include/rcube_shared.inc and set charset=UTF-8 but the browsers (firefox, IE) still don't get it. What do I need to do to make sure the browser always use UTF-8 for the roundcube pages? Thanks a million, roundcube rocks! /Alexander

I get this problem with both the latest CVS and the 0.1 beta. Could it be something to do with upgrades to php (5.1.2-1) and mysql (5.0.18-8)? [RoundCube Users] Problem uploading attachments

Hi, I use RoundCube Webmail 0.1 Beta and have a problem uploading attachments: after choosing the file ("Browse...") and pressing on "Upload" the browser seems to load something but after that the attachment doesn't appear in the attachment column (the same thing happens also with small *.txt files). I know that "file_uploads" has to be enabled like it says in the INSTALL document. phpinfo() says: file_uploads: On (Local Value) - On (Master Value). I also tested a PHP upload script on the server which worked without problems (the script uses $_FILES[] and the function move_uploaded_file()). Thanks in advance and regards, Mark

Does anyone have a similar setup utilizing virtual domains? I have everything setup yet I must be missing something when it comes to getting Roundcube to utilize the mail accounts setup in the postfix database. Anyone with some insight would be greatly appreciated! -- Regards, James Bowling

Bonsoir a tous En éspérant que les supporters de roundcube compte quelques français sinon je suis cuit... alors pour resumer: OSX+apache 2.0.2+PHP 4.9.XX+MYSQL 4.0.21+postfix le tous sur la même machine jusqu'a tous a l'heure tous fonctionnait bien et puis je prend la version cvs de ce soir je réalise une backup de mon rouncube j'installe la cvs et hop une superbe page blanche apres la page de log ??? je reinstalle ma backup et la nickel je precise que j'ai vider le cache verifier si ma table mysql était a jour dans le doute je la détruit et ja la recrée avec le script du cvs nada, peanuts alors si vous avez des idées merci ps: merci pour se superbe webmail et bon courage

The recently published beta release came up with two ugly bugs. One prevented from saving the language selection in the user preferences and the other completely omitted mail headers when having no smtp server configured. Hello all of you. I have notice something weared I would like to share with you. I have installed a postfix server doing antispam and antivirus content filter (using spamassassin & content_filter and clamav&clamsmtpd) Everything is ok except when I'm writing an email from roundcube webmail I tested writing an email attaching the eicar virus test file and when I send it the email scanner says there is no virus in the message! I did the same test with 2 others webmail and the virus has been discovred by clamd! Do you have any clues?

Typically a PHP thing, I didn't expect it in roundcube (though, yes, it's php) -- how to I make it so my users email inbound and outbound don't escape out the quotes? For example, users who type in "Chicken's the best" send and receive \"Chicken\'s the best\" How do I make it so it does not do that? I haven't updated to beta yet, I was waiting for the issues to smooth over until I ran that route, but I'm on the most recent cvs before then. -- *Brady J. [RoundCube Users] headers

I have an install of the beta up and running, I have dug through the archive and found posts that suggested corrections to a problem with headers not being hidden. I have tried doing a str_replace in the sendmail.inc file for the headers. Also have set it up to run off a postfix/SMTP install. The problem now is that the message comes through as user "Apache" which is the default user that runs the web service. Well, not sure what got it working, but I've been playing with it for a while, and it seems to be working now. I think it was me not having the SSL extension loaded in php (woops, missed during install). So all is well now. Thanks for the offer though. And yes, the server is on a separate host. Default mail server address.

In my RC server I happen to see that if the user hasn't set up his identities, when composing he gets a user(a)local.network where local.network is our local (private network) SMTP server. I'm sure yet if it's trying to get the value from the 'smtp_server' field or the 'default_host' (this is the imap configuration host). hi all, i just gave roundcube another shot on my old P3-450 server and am amazed.;) Last time i checked it wouldn't show any other folders than Inbox (running cyrus with unixhierachy). But now that works like a charm. And it performs very well on that poor loaded machine, might be even better than ilohamail. Thx for that. After some testing i got a few suggestions: 1.I think it would be quite comfortable to have the "new message"-button also present when actually viewing a message. Or even better, having an completely editable menu-bar? 2.Actions for multiple messages (like moving 10 message to a different folder, marking them read/imporant...) 3.The abillity to sort the folders as i like (e.g. the important ones at the top..) 4.reading a signature from a file on the server (i have mine in ~/fortunesig) Thats all i could think of now, great work so far! [RoundCube Users] from address display problem

I have a from address configured in personal preferences. However, what shows up in sent mail as the user name is the info from the passwd file for the user that apache is running as. Thus, the address is correct, but the name is wrong. Any ideas on what could be causing this? I won\'t have time to dig into the code til saturday afternoon.

As a wild guess I changed the value below from TRUE to FALSE in main.inc.php as a test. Now my inbox updates immediately and new items now appear after login so the issues seems fixed. [RoundCube Users] Quota problem

Hi there, I use CVS Roundcube, and I try to get the quota working. I check in the source code, and saw that the "disk usage" in rc is calculated from the imap command QUOT1 GETQUOTA ROOT "INBOX" (I know QUOT1 is only the way to recognize response). The problem is that when I ask this to my courier-imap server, it does NOT reply something RC expects. I know it is not a rc problem, but I ask on a courier-imap newsgroup and nobody awnsers. Could you help me please ? I'm sure it is a simple problem for someone who knows well imap. The message I posted on the NG, with technical info is juste below. Hello, I am currently receiving the following error when I try to log in for the first time. [20-Feb-2006 00:44:59 -0500] IMAP Error: Authentication failed (LOGIN):<br>"a001 NO LOGIN failed" in on line 0 I am guessing it is due to the fact that I have no clue what I should be entering for the following config options. Hello guys. I'm having problem with Apache + Php 4 + RoundCube + Mysql 5 + Dbmail 2.0.something. Somethimes and only with some users after an user accesses the webmail everything works as expected BUT the child he just instanciated (in apache) never closes... the apache process goes 100% and stays in "Write" forever until the apache child sigfault or I restart apache manually. Seems like Roundcube goes somehow in a dead lock when finishing the execution of the current page... The good thing is that the webmail works ok, so the problem is in the cleanup code of RoundCube (I suppose), the bad thing is that my processor usage keeps going 100% 100% 100% 'till the machine crash or something. Should be a simple resolution, I have a setup with postfix+dovecot for my SMTP/IMAP server. Trying to set up smtp mailer from RC but getting "failed to add reciepient" initially I was getting auth errors, but added the %u and %p which stopped that problem. I have a working postfix build and can send/recv email no problems from the command line. Any Suggestions? Thanks, Greg

Hi, Only recently joined the list, so sorry if this has already been discussed. I've set my language to en_GB, and it appears as en_GB in the "language" field in the mysql table. However, roundcube doesn't display messages/labels in en_GB. In rcube_shared.inc, in the routine rcube_label, the line: include_once($INSTALL_PATH.'program/localization/'.$sess_user_lang.'/labelsinc'); is loading en_US labels (i.e. 'program/localization/en_US/labels.inc') In preferences, English (US) is selected. I have the latest cvs of roundcube installed and it seems to be working properly except for the fact that all email that I send from it is sent from apache instead of the user I am logged in as. Anybody know what is causing this? I do not have a setting in the virtuser_file setting. Do I need something in their to translate my user name into an email address? Hi, Its quite odd, my session seems to expire whether I am clicking on things or not around the same time. I have this variable set in the config file:- $rcmail_config['session_lifetime'] = 60; My session seems to last around 5 minutes I think. Hello folks! I've just installed Roundcube on my nice new spangly DH account. After a bit of digging around this very forum I got it working, appart from one problem. Its not using any localisation. (or so it would seem) >From what I can tell, its displaying the tags/placeholders which should be replaced by the phrases in its localisation files (see program/localisation folder). Hello I'm quite a newbie but I've managed to install Roundcube without any problems, everything worked first time. The only thing is that there are three folders in the folder list that have appeared and I don't know what they are: INBOX.Drafts INBOX.Sent INBOX.Trash These are in addition to the normal Sent and Trash folders. I've noticed that they also exist in Neo, Horde & SquirrelMail that my hosting company (Quality Host Online) provides. What are these folders, and is there any way to get rid of them, as they seem to be unnecessary? Thanks very mush Simon

So i\'m guessing the above config line will handle this. My question is... what does the mysql table have to look like? Such as tables names and the format that data is inserted into them. I'd like to modify the default skin to display the email address currently logged in. I'm new to this but it looks like I use "rcmail_current_username". I want it to appear above the RC logo, so I amended header.html: <div id="header"><roundcube:object name="rcmail_current_username" /> I don't think this is calling the routine though. [RoundCube Users] Trash folder doesn't work

Hello I'm experiencing a strange situation with my roundcube setup (latest cvs version snapshot from sourceforge). All is working well, except the following. When I delete a message, you see it's added to the trash folder (the number of messages in the folder list on the lefts adds by one). But I can never look in my trash folder! I can click on it, but nothing shows. All other folders are working perfectly (Sent, Inbox, ....). The IMAP-server is a Courier-imap, latest version. Problem occurs also on an older Courier-box, with the same roundcube version. Does anyone have an idea about this? If you need more details, please ask. Regards Peter

According to the changelog for 0.1b (2006/02/04): "Make username available as skin object" But no other details. I figured rcmail_current_username was the routine and guessed that: <roundcube:object name="rcmail_current_username" /> was the call to make it display. Doesn't seem to get to the routine though. So I guess I'm stuck with not understanding how to call routines from the UI components, and secondarily with which UI routine I call for the username. >> Have you tried the %u element I see in the main config? Hi All, Hoping someone else has run into this. After selecting a file to attach to a mail message and selecting upload, the dialog closes but does not show a record of the file you just uploaded. Is this normal? Secondly, when sending the message (with logging enabled), I get the following error: Warning: rmdir(temp/39664438943f0eafe75809): Directory not empty in /home/e-smith/files/ibays/cube/html/program/steps/mail/func.inc on line 1219 Now, in my OS, simply selecting rmdir and the directory name will not remove a directory if that directory has anything in it (which in my case, there is). Is there a cleanup routine that would remove the contents of the directory before the rmdir code is executed? Any ideas? Thanks! Geoffrey

I've attempted to program all settings into our server for outbound email usage, but to no avail. Currently we're a Cyrus OS X server, with smtp, password authorization required for outbound sending of messages. Now, I get the %u/p parts, and I have it set to the proper smtp address... should I not just be using 'LOGIN' as the password protocal? I've essentially tried all, and none seem to work, I'm wondering if there's a different outbound preference I should put in there that I'm not seeing? That was indeed the problem. (Saw that on the dev ML, as well). Cleared the cache, and FF 1.5 is working great here at work. Will try Safari and FF 1.0.7 when I get home. Hello all.. New to the list and RoundCube, great product so far. I see the default host setting that mentions adding multiple host to allow for a drop down list. I have tried adding multiple lines, tried separating the host by comma, space and pipe... How do I add more than one how to this option? Hello, I've checked the dev archives w/ no results, and haven't been able to find any archives for this list, so I hope this question hasn't been asked a thousand times. After first upgrading, then wiping everything and doing a fresh install of 20050206, I find that RC no longer works w/ any version of firefox. Messages can't be selected, much less double clicked to open, and mailboxes can't be clicked on to select. Surprisingly, IE renders RC20060205 perfectly. Any quick fixes I can make to get it working? Fixed with the latest CVS build, it was because of large Cyrus IMAP accounts - however, now I'm tackling sending outbound emails being blocked and no authentication method is being picked up -- I will look to see if the CVS build cures this as well.

We just deployed RoundCube in our business, with about 100 users. It's working great! However, there are occasions where message bodies will not be displayed. I haven't been able to pin down an exact pattern, but it appears as though its multipart messages, with HTML. Has anyone else seen similar behavior? Everything is working with the latest CVS build, except that when I send emails my identity is not shown ton the receiver. Under 'sender' they only get 'General'. I set up a new identity and when I compose a message it shows above the message but doesn't seem to go through. Any idea what this could be? Thanks a lot.

Hi, I'd like to start off by saying I love your webmail client and to keep up the good work. If I had more time, I'd try contributing myself, and maybe I'll be able to one of these days :). Now onto my problem, I'm having some trouble with sending attachments and I'm not sure which list to post this question to. It could be a bug, or it could be me being an idiot. Whenever an outgoing e-mail is sent with an attachment, the recipient MUA is unable to show it as an attachment. This happens across multiple MUAs, so I doubt it's a problem with the recipients. Instead, it just shows it as base64 encoded text at the end of the body. I am by no means an expert in this area, but I have a suspicion as to whether or not the MIME encoding is being done properly. [RoundCube Users] Sending mail fails

Hi there, Recently installed a new copy of roundcube on a new server. I currently have a working install on another machine, which works like a charm. (using it right now actually) Now when I try to send mail on the new server, I get a "Sending Failed" message. This new server runs postfix/courier-imap, and is perfectly able to send mail via telnet. The error I get in my syslog when trying to send via is this: Feb 1 02:51:09 navi postfix/sendmail[11922]: fatal: usage: sendmail [options] I've tried sending mail via the new box with multiple imap clients, both webbased and desktop based, and all of them work flawlessly. Hi All, I like the interface of Roundcube a lot, but i've got problems with opening other folders then the Inbox. I'm using Firefox 1.0 on Ubuntu linux. This makes it almost impossible to use Roundcube. Can someone tell me what I can do about this problem? Regards, Michael van Dorp

A prerequisite is that it would understand how to create html or mime/multipart alternative messages, which I believe it does not. Once it knows how to treat those message types, then building in you favorite WYSIWYG editor shouldn't be too rough. To anyone currently working on this development, I would suggest leaving it user configurable. Individual sites may have compelling reasons to use one editor over another, and coding with that modularity in mind could be very helpful. --joshua.

According to the CHANGELOG: 2005/08/20 .. - Auto create folders Inbox, Sent and Trash (if configured) .. I have everything else working (postfix/postfix.admin/Cyrus-IMAP/SASL/ roundcube), but it only creates the INBOX on login... Ideas? Thanks, Andrew

Hi all, I have a couple of questions after getting the system up and running. 1) Can the initial login page be ssl-encrypted, and if so what approach would you recommend? 2) When users log in, is there a way to subscribe to all folders by default? 3) I know my users are going to ask me this - has anyone done a wysiwig editor in roundcube for mail composition? For some reason, sending messages is taking a long time (3-5 secs) I'm not specifying any auth, though I have tried LOGIN, I have also tried turning off logging of sent messages... but it's still taking too long. The IMAP server is on a different machine. Access to my folders and messages are quick. I'm using last night's CVS on Solaris 9 Sparc. The IMAP server is Sun's iMS. Also, columns are not sorting, they don't do anything when I click on them... Can I turn this on? The select 'All, Unread, None' doesn't seem to work either? And, sometimes, messages are intermittently blank (missing their bodies), but then when I click them again, they're there. Thanks for any hints, s7

Most mailing lists have the subject pre-pended with the name of the project, like this: [Roundcube] It makes things easier to read/digest/understand. Could we add that to the RC mailing list? We could even have [Roundcube-dev] and [Roundcube-users] P -- http://fak3r.com - you don't have to kick it

[RoundCube Users] sqlite support - WORKING with PHP4

Ok, This is the info that I needed an hour ago, and I couldn't find, so I'm posting for the list's betterment. I'm running Debian Sarge, php4 and php4-sqlite (latest from apt)... I'm also using lighttpd, but that's really irrelevant to the equation, but it's a great little webserver. I was having difficulty getting things working with sqlite... one roadblock after another... I read about a fix/patch or two on the mailing list and finally get decided to just fetch the app from CVS and see if things were any better there. I also had to change: 1. in the include database file (one of them) I changed sqlite_exec to sqlite_query... as cubemail doesn't do anything with the return value, this should work just fine. PHP5 should have the function _exec, but php4 does not. 2. Add "changed" to the "contacts" table... the code requires this, but it's not in the SQL dumps in the SQL folder yet... Otherwise I pretty much followed the instructions for sqlite. But I do want to report it is working just GREAT on PHP4/SQLite2... Why do I see over and over SQLite only works with PHP5? Does the author just not want to support that or what? Sorry the instructions aren't more explicit... I'm writing this after the fact just to point the next person in the right direction and say YES, it is possible... I had much better luck after I called the database "sqlite2.db" instead of "sqlite.db", but that has got to be just co-incidence... but mentioning it anyways. Thanks, Josh

Hello Lasar, I know that roundcubemail is not able and "will" not be able to create mail, that is why i ask is there any script that can do this :). What are recomendation for roundcubemail webmail "imap server, send mail server and so"... Hi, First of all I'd like to say that I really love your software. I've been looking for a nice, decent webmail-interface and roundcube seems to be it! There is only one problem: When I am reading a message in roundcube, and I want to go back to a folder (for instance Inbox), I get the following error: "Your session is invalid or expired." And then I am logged out. The only way to get back to the inbox after reading a message, is to click the green arrow. Can you help me? Misha
