htmleditor (Compose HTML messages) preference problem

Hi, I'm recently upgrade from Roundcube 0.8.6 to Roundcube 0.9.4 on Fedora 18. Some users complain about problem composing non-HTML messages because "Compose HTML messages" is set to always even after save configuration with a never value for this preference. I have $rcmail_config['htmleditor'] = 0; in main.inc.php and if the user haven't got "htmleditor" in his preferences field on table user it's works fine, but the problem comes when the user has any value for this preference. How to reproduce? - Check if the user has "htmleditor" in his field "preferences" on table "users" (s:10:"htmleditor";i:0;) - Change "Compose HTML messages" configuration value (in Preferences --> Composing Messages) to another value and click save button (if you reload your MySQL query to show user preferences, you could see that htmleditor value has been changed with the new value s:10:"htmleditor";i:2;) - Return to mail INBOX and reload your MySQL query, the value has been automatically changed to s:10:"htmleditor";b:1; and "Compose HTML messages" is set to "always" and if you change this value you have the same problem again. I don'tknow if it's a bug or I have any configuration problem. Can you help me? Thank you T

Dear Roundcube lovers! It wouldn't be Roundcube if there wasn't a minor glitch in our stable releases every now and then :-) It so happened again in the recent 0.9.3 release where the new include_path check triggered some regex warnings on Windows systems. We apologize for this inconvenience! But we're trying hard to keep up and here's a new release which fixes that nasty bug together with some other reported issues that we considered worth being ported to the 0.9 release series. It's considered stable (really!) and we recommend to update all productive installations of Roundcube with this version. Looking for plugin writer

Im looking for a person, who can write a plugin for Roundcube webmail which can do next things: Add 2 buttons with descriptions for sending mail: send via 1st smtp server and send with 2nd smtp server. This two buttons must be configurable: width and height, css styles, etc. And smtp server's address also must be configurable. This plugin must work with modern verions of roundcube. Roundcube "hangs" in settings pages

Hi list I got a weird problem with my roundcube 0.9.2 installation. If I go to the settings pages and choose any menu item from the left pane (e.g. server-settings) RC hangs forever showing "loading data". The same goes for all plugins settings which have menu items in the left pane. If I click such a menu item all other links in RC are not working anymore. I have to reload the page in browser (ctrl+F5) to use RC again. Webmail itself works fine, it's just the settings pages that seem to be broken somehow in my case. Problem with mobile devices

Hi, I'm experiencing some problems in the graphical interface with mobile devices. I've tried with default theme, Classic, Larry, and also "mobile cube". I'm using RC 0.9.2 on Debian 6. Scroll dosen't work with Android browser, I cannot skip to next page, and so on Has anyone had similar problems? Problems started after upgrading from 0.8.5 Thank you very much

Question involving Mountain Lion server, Roundcube versions since 0.8.5 and including 0.9.2, and managesieve

Hello, Since version 0.8.5 of Roundcube, the default installation of the managesieve plugin doesn't work for me. Even using the same configuration settings from versions prior results in the roundcube being unable to connect to the sieve via the managesieve plugin. After doing some checking, on my config, the various auth functions in plugins/managesieve/Net/Sieve.php that attempt to determine the server's strongest auth methods seem to return incorrect values. Worse, the plugin will gleefully ignore you specifying a particular auth method, like CRAM-MD5. In my testing, the plugin will repeatedly try DIGEST-MD5 when you specify CRAM-MD5; which I suppose would be fine except when in fact your server doesn't support it. :-) You can workaround the issue by removing the DIGEST-MD5 as a supported type in class Net_Sieve (which lives in the managesieve plugin folder, under /Net) but this seems to be a bit of a brute force mechanism to solve what should be a simple problem. I saw a couple of other users with similar issues, including one with an identical problem in the forums but no resolution. I'm fresh out of ideas on why this happening -- probably looking at the command line way too much today, any suggestions? Thanks, - Matt

Speed-ups for a slow computer?

Can anything be done to speed up Roundcube on a Celeron 700 with 512MB RAM (maxed out) running Gentoo Linux? We're using the Chrome browser and the CPU is 95% idle when no one is logged into X. I'm getting reports of 30+ seconds to open an email. - Grant

Hi Alec, yes, in fact if I remove <body>=EF=BB=BF I can view HTML correctly. But.. why on other system it works? It's related to some PHP library issue? expand Show More Message Headers by default?

Using v0.9.2 I've enabled the show_additional_headers plugin, but it's almost useless since I always need to click the little arrow labeled Show More Message Headers. Is there a way to expand Show More Message Headers by default for all messages? I want that thing to be already expanded when I click on a message. Hi everyone, I've just installed RC 0.9.2 via the bitnami RoundCube installer on a Mac OS X Server 10.8.4. Everything appeared to install correctly. When I'm presented with the RC login at http://localhost/roundcube, I'm unable to log in to any of my email accounts hosted on the server. I keep getting login failed on the login screen. I'm a complete RC newbie, and I'm unsure where to go from here. Can someone help? John

Unexpected session timeouts using memcached session store

We are currently running a pilot Roundcube service and are expecting to go live a a couple of weeks time. Something that my users have picked up on is that idle sessions appear to time out in unpredictable ways despite the keep_alive requests fired off by the Web browser. A bit of digging over the weekend revealed a potential race condition in program/lib/Roundcube/rcube_session.php : mc_write(). (Roundcube 0.9.2). I'm happy to write the following up as a ticket on trac.roundcube.net. I wanted to make sure my analysis and proposed solution was correct first. Given the 10 minute (600 second) default session_lifetime, keep_alive requests are fired off every 300 seconds. However these may not arrive immediately, particularly if the Web browser, network or server is busy. Sessions stored in memcached expire after precisely 600 seconds unless they are refreshed. mc_write() only refreshes session entries if the following is true: ($newvars !== $oldvars || $ts - $this->changed > $this->lifetime / 2) Most of the time with a idle login session: ($this->lifetime / 2) will be 300 ($ts - $this->changed) will be a tiny fraction more than 300. However if I add some logging it becomes clear that ($ts - $this->changed) is occasionally less than 300. I imagine this happens when the previous keep_alive was stuck in transit for a fraction of a second. It is an asynchronous request and the timer for the next keep_alive doesn't wait. The mc_write() refresh on the session data is skipped when this happens. The following keep_alive is scheduled to arrive precisely the same second that the session is due to expire in memcached. If you are unlucky the keep_alive arrives just after the session has been expired, which leads a "Session is invalid or has expired" error page. This is using memcached for session storage: the problem appears to go away if I switch to using a database backend. I believe that this is because session entries stored in memcached expire after precisely 600 seconds. With a database backend sessions are expired by PHP garbage collection later on. This will add a few seconds delay, at least on a inactive system. The attached patch appears to fix the problem, using two separate approaches: 1) A lower threshold for deciding when to refresh the session entry. (I am tempted to remove the guard condition altogether and always update. There isn't any I/O cost associated with a memcached back end). 2) A slightly longer expiry time for entries stored in memcached. I think this is related to recent upgrade (from RCB 0.8.5); anyway I'm sure I followed correct steps to upgrade webmail. Users see message body totally white, and if you try to see the original header, all part of the body is missing. I've tried to copy a html message to another RC webmail (same version: 0.9.2) and I can succesfully it correctly. I've no error on apache/error.log Can you help me troubleshooting this? Thank you

Blank page after Login

Roundcube 0.9.2 installed. Loading up the roundcube page I get a login window. I put in a user name and password and I get a blank screen. On Chrome I get "Server Error" (500). A simple Roundcube setup issue

Hi: I have installed Roundcube V.0.9.0 on an OSX Server running OSX 10.8.4. Roundcube is the webmail front-end to Postfix/Dovecot. Everything is working perfectly except for one thing. When an email is received which contains an image file attached, the image is replaced with a pink box in the Roundcube interface. The pink box is a gif file, and seems to be a place holder replacing the original image. This behavior is observed in all browsers: Safari, Chrome, and Firefox running under OSX and also by Internet Explorer running under Windows 8. If I bring up the same email in a regular mailer, like OSX Mail, or Thunderbird, the images display correctly the way they were sent. I have a TZ215 firewall and virus/trojan scanner, as well as additional virus scanning on the server protecting emails/images/attachments, so, having little or no concern for maleware I have set Roundcube's user preferences in Settings ==> Displaying Messages ==> Display Remote Images ==> to Always. That setting should allow Roundcube to properly display whatever image is received, but it doesn't. When I look at the raw email, I see a properly encoded email with mime-encoded attachments. Where in Roundcube's internals can I turn off/change this aberrant behavior? Hi, I have a user with [Square parentesis] in IMAP folder names The IMAP server is the latest Dovecot. With Thunderbird the user is able to see the folders. With Roundcube he does not see the folders in the folder lists or in the folder he can subscribe. Unable to set Sent folder to "INBOX"

One of my users noticed that while "INBOX" appears in the list of mailboxes listed under: Settings => Preferences => Special Folders => Sent it is not possible to select that folder for sent messages. Any attempt to do do ends up with the empty value "---". Blank Page on /install/ - Can't Figure It Out

Hi list, I'm having a tough time getting roundcube to work. Here's the software I'm using, and the versions: FreeBSD 9.1-RELEASE-p3 nginx/1.4.1 PHP 5.4.16 (php-fpm via fastcgi) (all my extensions are listed below) So here's the problem. All my php scripts work elsewhere. I even created a new index.php inside roundcube's dir with "echo 'hello world';" to confirm php is working - and it is. When I browse to /installer/, I get a blank page. Absolutely nothing in my nginx error log, php-fpm log, or php error log. I even tested the php error log by calling error_log("Testing") manually and checking the file to make sure it logged the test. I'm sorry I don't have more information to provide - that's the whole reason it's bugging me. It's just silently failing. I went through the roundcube requirements list: http://trac.roundcube.net/wiki/Howto_Requirements and made sure my php.ini settings are correct. I also tried copying the default php.ini-production and php.ini-development files over to no avail. It's just....silently failing for no detectable reason on my part. Hopefully someone else has some hints/tips? Session timeout probs with IE10

Hi All, I am running roundcube on top of a LAMP install, I updated to latest 0.9 release yesterday but the problem still exists. Issue: The roundcube session automagically terminates some seconds after login while reading or composing a mail. The status bar indicates that the session has terminated and the user needs to relogin which makes roundcube unusable for such clients. The problem affects at least three different users, all running IE10 on Win7. I was not able to always reproduce the problem at any time but hope that anybody has seen similar issues and can point me to a solution. Well, after many more tests I have discovered that TIFF images are displayed Ok. I also discovered that if I rename image.jpg to image.jpeg it too displays well. Only images with extension jpg fail to display. On my MACs, all Jpeg files are named with an extension of jpg, not jpeg. Roundcube fails to recognize extension JPG as a JPEG file even though they are the same. Roundcube behind reverse Proxy

Hi List, i am in the process of setting up roundcube behind an apache reverse proxy. Webclilent(https://my.site/webmail) -> apache proxy(http://192.168.3.3/webmail) -> roundcube server(at 192.168.3.3) It looks like the roundcube returns content with absolute url's. And these url's then look like "http://192.168.3.3" which from the inet wont work. Can please one give me some hints what screws to turn. Thank you. Regards, Axel

max file upload limitation

Hi there, After an upgrade I ran into our 5Mb max file limitation. I thought this used to be set in the _main.inc.php_ as something like _upload_max_filesize_, but I didn't see this nor references to number 5. My next stop had been the /_etc/php5/apache2/php.ini_ and this has been set to_ upload_max_filesize = 10M_ and max_file_uploads = 9, so I don't think my problem lies in here. [BUG?] Blank Date field everywhere

Literally, nothing is printed in "Date" field neither in folder letters listing, nor in letter viewer. Looking at original unparsed headers of letters show that they have correct dates in them. I use roundcube 0.9.1 installed through gentoo portage system. By default roundcube sticked with russian language, but now i changed it to english, and nothing changes. Also nothing changes on changing "Pretty dates" option. Apache is 2.2.23, php is 5.4.13. logs/errors file is full with lines like the one below. mobile skin broke when I upgraded from 0.8 to 0.9

Hi all. don't know if anyone here can help with this. I'm running 0.9.1, having recently upgraded from 0.8.x. Due to requests from my users, we purchased this skin: http://roundcubeskins.net/portfolio/iclassic/ specifically for the mobile view. Unfortunately, it broke when we moved to 0.9 and the developer has been unreachable. Specifically, our mobile users (iPhone, android, etc) are unable to scroll up or down in the mobile view. When they try to, it appears that an email is getting selected for "drag & drop" behavior rather than scrolling the view. Hi, I have a problem with my zimbra server 7.2.3 with which, however, use rouncube as imap client , when a new message arrives, the number of unread messages in INBOX on the left box is updated while the list of messages to the center box (subject, date, sender, etc.. ) it does not appear, appears only changing folder. I've tried various settings on zimbra, I also tried to enable and / or disable the proxy imap but it does not work. I also tried various settings in IMAP section in CR especially with imap_force_caps but does not work. Any ideas ? Thank you Marco

List options To column problem

Guys, I am testing 0.9.1 and I run in to the same problem as I had with 0.9.0 with the columns. First of all, when I clear a user preferences (through MySQL) all is well and ok, meaning: - When I view the Inbox I see the following columns in order: Subject, (blue star)), From, Date, Size, Flag (I think, yellow star), Has Attachment - When I view the Sent items box I see the following columns in order: Subject, (blue star), To, Date, Size, Flag (I think, yellow star), Has Attachment But the To column is not part of the options in the List Options... screen. Only the From/To and when I set anything I will lose the To column. Using the From/To results in a Sent box view with a column set on From (it does not switch to To). The only way to reset it all and get back the To column is to clear the preferences for the user. I already restored the main.inc.php from the 0.9.1 archive but to no avail in fixing this. Also I suspect this must be a problem for everybody?? Apache 403 Forbidden issues in 0.8.1?

All, I've been running 0.8.1 in production since shortly after its release. Ever since moving from 0.7.2, my Apache logs are being flooded with "403 Forbidden" errors. A typical example is: 2xx.xx.xxx.xx - - [01/Oct/2012:06:24:22 -0700] "GET /webmail/?_task=mail&_action=keep-alive&_remote=1&_unlock=0&_=1349097860835 HTTP/1.1" 403 15 Any ideas what might be going on here? Hi there, Every now and again I try to use the installer script included with RC for upgrading. This has never worked for me, likely because my PHP knowledge sucks. Sent items sort column To missing

Roundcube users, Version: 0.9.0 Perhaps I have another flaw in my main.inc.php but I cannot select the column To for sorting in the Sent Items folder. Sorting on From is useless as they were all sent From the same address on the account. There is a Reply-To column but its empty. I edited the main.inc.php and added 'to' but it doesn't show up: // These cols are shown in the message list. Available cols are: // subject, from, to, cc, replyto, date, size, status, flag, attachment $rcmail_config['list_cols'] = array('subject', 'status', 'from', 'to', 'replyto', 'date', 'size', 'flag', 'attachment'); If I click on the Edit button for the columns it shows under List columns the "From/To" but I only get the column From? As usual, it contains some bug fixes and improvements which didn't make it into the first stable version as well as some translation updates. After getting reports that some skin images weren't reloaded due to progressive cache settings, the packaged version now comes with unique urls of skin images referenced by templates and CSS files. If you're pulling the source directly from git you can achieve the same by running bin/updatecss.sh It's considered stable and we recommend to update all productive installations of Roundcube with this version. hello. i'm trying to figure out how to move the events created by one user to another user's calendar. i have installed calendar plug in (myroundcube free version), and could export an ics file, but cannot import it on the other user's calendar. it doesn't have an import option. do i have another option or am i missing something? i'm thinking of doing it moving the content directly in database, but don't want to broke the db. thanks in advance.

Roundcube Users list, I have Roundcube 0.9.0 and when I reply an email the Original Message is not being shown nor send with the reply. A forward however does contain the Original Message. I cannot find any options on this either. Does anybody know what is going wrong for me? new_user_identity issue with RCU 0.9

Hi, I was using new_user_identity plugin with RCU 0.8 without problems. I've just upgrade to 0.9 and it doesn't work anymore. I don't have any error message but the pluggin seem to stop to fill user identity when a new user log to the webmail. I've did a tcpdump during user login and no ldap request is sent. When i go to "a propos", the plugin is listed as used in his 1.0.7 version. Any idea? autocomplete with LDAP address book

I recently implemented the LDAP address book using anonymous login and read-only access. It seems to be working (i.e. I can click on "Address Book" and see the addresses I want to see). However, when composing a new email, it doesn't auto-complete addresses I begin to type with those in the global address book. From some quick googling, I understand that this is supposed to be an out-of-the-box feature. How can I enable this feature? -Zach

BUG 0.9.0 trash deleting

Some members wish to empty trash manually, by delete and not "empty", this way preventing select messages from being expunged. case 1: Success- highlight all messages, deletes, working same as the empty folder option. case 2: Failure- highlight all messages, control un-select a few messages to keep, results in no deletions at all. I have verified this members report on use of a separate (test) account.

can't access calendar after update to 0.9.0 (only with larry)

Hi, i recently updated to 0.9.0, and then updated plugin_manager and downloaded all the updates (including Calendar 14.1.2). i like very much the new version, seems stable and the new features are working very well. now i'm having only one problem with my calendar doesn't shows on larry theme (keep loading, with grey screen), but if i switch to classic then the calendar works fine. on logs/errors it prints a few lines like this every time i reload the page (only if using larry) DB Error: [1054] Unknown column 'reminder' in 'field list' in /var/www/localhost/htdocs/mail/program/lib/Roundcube/rcube_db.php on line 416 (GET /mail/?_task=dummy&_action=plugin.calendar_fetchalllayers&_start=1366599600&_end=1367463600&_category=&_tzname=America%2FMontevideo&_echo=1&_=1366605261839) i did run udpate.sh after 0.9.0 upgrade any clue?

RCU 0.9 and new_user_dialog

Hi folks, I am testing RCU 0.9 and found that the new user dialog plugin is not behaving good for me. It shows up the dialog, I make some input, click save, the screen gets reloaded and there is the dialog again, with the inputed data - saved at least. Only way out of the dialog is kill the cookies and login again, then no dialog anymore, as expected. Also, I'd like to suggest two new features: default values (for organization), and template support (for signature). I already use new_user_identity, so it gets name and mail address from LDAP, but organization and signature would be great for large/enterprise deployments. Hello folks We can proudly announce the next stable release of Roundcube. This version enhances the webmail experience with these new features: * Improved rendering of forwarded and attached messages * Optionally display and compose email messages a new windows * Unified UI for message view and composition * Show sender photos from contacts in email view * Render thumbnails for image attachments * Download all attachments as zip archive (using the zipdownload plugin) * Forward multiple emails as attachments * CSV import for contacts The major change of this version isn't really visible to the users but even more important for the developers: the Roundcube framework. We decoupled the core functions for IMAP access, SMTP email sending, database abstraction, caching, etc. from the webmail application in order to make them usable for other free software products. Another major change since the 0.8 series is the new database abstraction layer. In order to add support for SQLite3, the PEAR:MDB2 dependency was dropped and Roundcube now uses the native PHP Data Objects (PDO). It's enabled by default since PHP 5.1 and is considered stable and well-developed. One drawback, however, is a small lack in the MySQL PDO driver which makes PHP 5.3 a requirement for this version of Roundcube when using the MySQL database. A minor but rather handy improvement is a complete new database update mechanism that makes schema changes much easier to be deployed. After the upgrade, simply run bin/updatedb.sh to apply the necessary changes to the database Roundcube connects to. In case you used bin/installto.sh to perform the update, the schema upgrades are done applied and no further actions are required. After lots of testing and collecting your feedback, this version is considered stable and it also includes the recently discovered vulnerability that allows an attacker to modify its users preferences in a way that he can then read arbitrary files from the server. We therefore recommend to update all productive installations of Roundcube. Hi! I would like to import an addressbook in CSV format. I exported it from a database and would tweak it manually according to Roundcube's requirements. Simple fields like firstname, surname, name and email would be sufficient. All my attempts failed and Roundcube complaint about wrong format. Hi, I tried version 0.9, which seems to work very well I have two question about managesieve plugin 1) When i try to select "Forward message" as action a select with folders is showed, but whne i save the select disappear and an input (for an email address) is shown. If I manually edit the sieve file on the server (using fileinto) I can see the select pointing to the right folder 2) There is a plan to add more sieve capabilities, I remember that in an older version of RC (perhaps 0.6.5) there were much more than today Best regards Andrea

Hi all, we are using RC version 0.7.4 and have experienced some problems with IE10. To be precise when composing a new message and trying to add CC or BCC's to it the boxes are very small and are a pain to work with. Enabling compatibility mode (the broken page at the right of the url) solves the problem, of course. Does anyone know if this also happens on versions 0.8.x or even 0.9? People, After upgrading from Fedora 16 x86_64 to Fedora 18 x86_64 my RC setup (v0.9-beta that is unchanged) has ground to a halt - I click on a HTML mail (plain text mails seem to be OK) and "Loading . ." shows for ages and finally disappears with the preview pane still blank and sometimes the window is then unresponsive. Hi there and a special hi to those who read this on the weekend, I have had a working RoundCube installation for years - RC rocks! I decided to add SquirrelMail's IMAPPROXY into the mix to speed it all up, but cannot get RC to work with it. Everything runs on localhost, ImapProxy 1.2.7-1, RC 0.8.6 and with Debian 6.0.7 I've modified the RC configuration as follows: // TCP port used for IMAP connections $rcmail_config['default_port'] = 1993; # telnet localhost 1993 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to localhost. Escape character is '^]'. * OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE AUTH=LOGIN XIMAPPROXY] Dovecot ready. a1 logout * BYE LOGOUT received a1 OK Completed However, using the RC webmail logins failed. ImapProxy did not log any thing to LOG_MAIL, but this is expected because a failed log in should not be an imapproxy problem. LDAP: private user has to be manually created

Hi RC users, I need a bit of help with my LDAP setup. I followed the steps on this twiki page: http://trac.roundcube.net/wiki/Howto_Ldap to create a Public and a Private address book. Everything works fine, except for one thing: private users have to be manually inserted into the ldap directory, before they can add e-mails via the webapp to their private adrbook. So basically if there is a user as: "ou=myuser,ou=private,ou=rcabook,dc=localhost" all his addresses will be under this node. E.g. "dn: cn=Contact one,ou=myuser,ou=private,ou=rcabook,dc=localhost" The script on the twiki page creates: "dn: ou=private,ou=rcabook,dc=pojo,dc=hu". The webmail app would create: "dn: cn=Contact one,ou=myuser,ou=private,ou=rcabook,dc=localhost" My question is: what should create "dn: cn=user,ou=private,ou=rcabook,dc=pojo,dc=hu" ? Does it have to be created manually for each user? (After doing that everything works as desired - still it would be painful to do that for all users.) The twiki page has a slapd.conf attached, which has this section which made me thing, the public user would create these entries but they don't get created: # Grant the Roundcub user to create private users access to dn.one="ou=private,ou=rcabook,dc=localhost" attrs=userPassword by dn="cn=rcuser,ou=rcabook,dc=localhost" write by anonymous auth by self write by * none Am I misunderstanding something? Hi, We are experiencing a big problem when sending mass emails. We are sending 500 e mails daily and we noticed that after the 1st 100 e mails all the rest of e mails are returning to sender. We do not exceed the max ammount of 200 e-mails per sent mass email. Please we need urgent support with his issues, as we are in the middle of an important marketing campaing. Hi, I upgrade my Mac OS X 10.8.2 server to the latest Server Software and it cause a bug in roundcube where messages would randomly show (no subject) in the message list but the preview pane displays the message correctly. I duplicated this on another server running the same software as well. It was working great before the update. I moved roundcube to a 10.7 Mac Server with all the updates and it is working perfectly perfectly there. All servers are running the same PHP version and Apache. I have searched high and low to come up with a solution for this issue to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mike

Hello, I have a very recent install of roundcube where the users are (were) experiencing an error "request check failed" in two places. I traced this to a referer error in the logs, which I then chased to the referer_check setting in main.inc.php. Setting referer_check to false has solved both symptoms. The first place this was happening is viewing attachments within the browser. when one clicks on a pdf attachment he has received, for example, the new tab/window will open with the link to download and the request check failed error message where you would normally view the document. with referer_check=false, the new tab/window opens, shows the download link and the document. The second place I was seeing the error message was with the login page. If I open a second tab and brought it to the login page while I was already logged in, I would get the error, or if I closed the browser without logging out I would usually get that error. Once it happens, the only way I found to clear it was to delete the related cookies. I haven't tested extensively yet, but so far it appears referer_check=false has also corrected this problem. Having just read up a bit on http referer headers, I start to see that it would be better to not leave the referer_check option at false. However, the above symptoms aren't really going over with the users to well, especially the login page one. I do not find anyone reporting similar on the web yet, so I am thinking I must have missed something in my config, but I went over it and didn't find anything. Have I missed an obvious configuration option somewhere that would allow me to keep referer_check=true and still let my users see their documents and not have to clear their cookies every time they encounter the error on the log on page? -- Computerisms Bob Miller 867-334-7117 / 867-633-3760 http://computerisms.ca

Hi all, I upgraded RoundCube to 0.8.5 from a previous 0.6.x and I found something strange in the filter section of settings 1) In the 0.8.5 there are fewer options respect to which action I can do (vacation, mark, etc) 2) The option redirect to let me choose only from a select which contains my folder, and not to forward to an external mail address. But if I choose a folder and savethen receive an error and the select changes and became an input in which I can put the external address. Maybe I'm missing something or I have wrong configured something, has anyone seen the same behaviour? Are there plans to implement missing options in the new release? Thanks Andrea

Hello all! In dovecot using managesieve I defined filters like this: if header :contains "From" "fred(a)anup.de" { vacation :days 1 :subject "Bin isch konkret nischt zu Hause!" "Geniesse das konkrete Wetter am Baggasee Bis dann"; } That works with my MUA claws-mail. Now when I login to roundcube and choose filters, I find this in the log of dovecot: Mar 06 14:26:10 managesieve(anmeyer(a)anup.de): Warning: sieve-storage: Active sieve script symlink /var/spool/vhosts/anup.de/anmeyer/.dovecot.sieve is broken: invalid/unknown path to storage (points to /var/spool/vhosts/anup.de/anmeyer/.sieve/managesieve.sieve). But I guess the path objected is correct. And roundcube made this out of my filters: if header :contains "From" "fred(a)anup.de" { vacation :days 1 :subject "Bin isch konkret nischt zu Hause!" text: Geniesse das konkrete Wetter am Baggasee Bis dann . ; } Now what's to do? If I define a filter in roundcube, it omits the :days 1 for example. What scheme is the right one? Every hint apprecheated! Andreas

Use either the installto.sh or update.sh scripts to do the update as described in the UPGRADING instructions. These will take advantage of the new database schema upgrade mechanism we just added. Hi, Using RC 0.85, linux, mysql, upgrading our servers, successfully from apache 2.4,3 to 2.4.4, now preparing to move our servers from php 5.3.22 to 5.4.12 and we have a problem, RC fails to login reporting "invalid session data" when we restart with 5.4.12. We completely disabled suhosin, even temporarily removed open base restrictions and our list of disable functions so it has cart blanch access to everything, but no go. Whats we see logged in errors file is: PHP Warning: session_write_close(): Failed to write session data ( user). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/var/spool/phpsessions/) in /opt/webmail/program/include/rcmail.php on line 1340 Yes the save path is correct, exists and correct permissions, after all, it works fine with php 5.3.x in apache vhost conf we have: php_admin_value session.save_path "/var/spool/phpsessions/" Besides that, even the system fallback default in php.ini is /var/spool/phpsessions I must be missing something so blatantly obvious, but a code jockey I am not. Is there a trick to getting RC going with 5.4.x ? Thanks Niki

The Calendar support is implemented by extending the Kolab plugin(s). A CalDAV driver is being implemented for calendar and tasklist plugins. The CardDAV support is being implemented as a new and independent plugin as the Kolab addressbook is completely different and does not support backend 'drivers'. Our CalDAV implementation is using the SabreDAV (http://code.google.com/p/sabredav/) and the sabre-vobject (https://github.com/evert/sabre-vobject) Libraries. In both cases our target CalDAV/CardDAV server is SOGo (http://www.sogo.nu/). Development is trying to stay as RFC complaint as possible. In such cases it is planned to have config options for server support so that this does not become a SOGo plugin. Our main focus is SOGo as this is what we are using. Work is well underway. Problem receiving emails

Good evening over the past week all of a sudden no new message arrived at my account gliberati(a)ad-valoramos.com It was possible to receive message but none was received. Apparently my email box is full but can`t access it to clean it up. The mentioned account is my business one and this lack of service is creating me lots of problems. namespace prefix and special folders issue

hello everyone, i'm new to this list i'm running dovecot as imap+pop (2.1.12) and roundcube (0.8.4) as client. and made a Courier migration following the dovecot wiki. file/folder structure is as follow: /home/user/.maildir/cur /home/user/.maildir/.Drafts /home/user/.maildir/.Junk /home/user/.maildir/.Sent /home/user/.maildir/.Trash /home/user/.maildir/.Archive /home/user/.maildir/.Archive.2012 etc... dovecot.conf configured with prefix = INBOX. on roundcube config have: $rcmail_config['default_imap_folders'] = array('INBOX', 'INBOX.Drafts', 'INBOX.Sent', 'INBOX.Junk', 'INBOX.Trash'); it seems to work fine with this configuration. but i understand that that 'INBOX.' prefix is not supposed to be there because of the file structure i have on the server. but, if i remove the INBOX. prefix from both configurations, then roundcube don't recognize special folders, and if i send a new mail, it creates a new folder INBOX.Sent on the file structure, and appears as a tree under INBOX on Roundcube GUI. then i have on my maildir structure two Sent folders: .maildir/INBOX.Sent .maildir/Sent and Roundcube recognize and subscribe to the new created folder as special Sent folder. i can't figure out why it behaves that way. any clue? thanks in advance

Ready for the big 1?

Hello folks We're in the final round of getting the 0.9 stable release ready and the question about the next major version arises. I know, our versioning has been very modest and therefore we're at 0.9 after more than 7 years of development. When starting Roundcube back in 2005, my vision about Roundcube version 1.0 was to be feature complete and ready for the average daily needs of email messaging. However, during the years we might have lost our objectivity for things like feature-completeness and that's why I'd like you to speak up for this. Do you think Roundcube deserves the version 1.0? My personal gut feeling says "yes, of course". Since version 0.7 we're seeing nearly 100K downloads from our mirrors and each installation of Roundcube serves up to several thousand users. While the total number of Roundcube users is still unclear, I nevertheless think that the broad use of our software is a clear indicator that it actually *is* ready for the average daily messaging. Together with this simple yes-no question, I'd also like to give you the opportunity to submit your personal "1.0 wish list". Feel free to post your top 3 must-have features you're currently missing in Roundcube. shared folder in Special Folders

Hi I am using Roundcube Webmail 0.8.2 Dovecot 2.1.10 I have setup a shared folder which can be accessed by several clients as I need. But I have a requirement to change my drafts folder to the shared folder. I can do this in squirrelmail but in roundcube it does not appear in the special folders list for me to select but it is subscribed too Thanks

With this milestone we introduce some important changes under the hood as well as some nice and long-awaited features: * First of all, the Roundcube Framework. The core classes providing the strong base of Roundcube's functionality have been extracted and decoupled into a Framework package. They can be used individually in other open source projects looking for solid functionality around IMAP, SMTP, MIME-handling and more. * Another major change is the new database abstraction. In order to add support for SQLite3 the PEAR:MDB2 dependency was dropped and Roundcube now uses the native PHP Data Objects (PDO). ATTENTION: due a small lack in the MySQL PDO driver, this version of Roundcube requires PHP 5.3 when using the MySQL database. * Finally we also added some new features: - Download all attachments as zip archive (zip module required) - Render thumbnails for image attachments (imagemagick is recommended) - Compose and mail view in new windows (configurable in user settings) - Upload attachment files and contact photos with drag & drop - Forward multiple emails as attachments - Show contact photos in mail view - CSV import for contacts And of course plenty of small improvements and bug fixes. I'm in love with roundcube. I must be related to the devs or something. A few questions.... Can I hide the button text displayed in the default skin? Is there an easy way to search for other messages from the same email address as a particular message? The quickest way I've found (which is pretty quick) is to highlight a message, open the preview pane, right click the sender, copy the email address, paste it into the search box, and hit enter. I wasn't sure the DB table structure import to mysql was successful. Can I assume it was if everything is working? - Grant

Hi ya, I'm trying to customize loginform.html template file to include @mydomain besides a smaller input username field. Obviously I want the users only enter de username part of their full email addresses. I previously configured main.inc.php to do this properly. The issue is, the html file include this code to deploy the full form fields as an object: <roundcube:object name="loginform" form="form" size="40" /> and didn´t find how to modify it as mentioned. Hello, After upgrading roundcube from 0.7.3 to 0.8.4 webmail interface users start having problems with columns sorting. For example, i add new column 'To' for Inbox folder. After creation of this column in Inbox, i can see 'To' in all other folders. How can i configure/allow users to use separate column settings for each folders, as it was in 0.7.3 ? In the Roundcube dev-List, I currently have 11,368 messages. When German as UI language is enabled and I click on the "Show last set" right-arrow/button below the message list, the left-arrow/button "Show first set" disappears completely. Apparently the string between the arrows is too long, as this problem doesn't occur in the English UI: German: "Nachrichten 11355 bis 11368 von 11368" English: "Messages 11355 to 11368 of 11368" The longer German string apparently shifts the "Show first set" left-arrow/button so much to the left that it is neither visible nor clickable anymore. This may also apply to languages other than German, but I couldn't test them all. This applies to the Classic skin, Larry untested (but most likely it's even worse there). Hi there, I did install roundcube on a ubuntu 12.04 box using apt-get I also installed some plugins also using apt-get managesieve version: 5.0 and activated the plugins: $rcmail_config['plugins'] = array('managesieve', 'password'); then in managesieve/config.inc.php I changed the port to 4190 // managesieve server port $rcmail_config['managesieve_port'] = 4190; // managesieve server address, default is localhost. $rcmail_config['managesieve_host'] = 'localhost'; Non the filter tab is presented in the roudcube but click it gives a "not able to access sieve server" error (or some such, I get it in german) and in the rouncube log I get the following error: [25-Dec-2012 09:47:54 +0100]: PHP Error: Unable to connect to managesieve on localhost:4190 in /usr/share/roundcube/plugins/managesieve/managesieve.php on line 286 (GET /?_task=settings&_action=plugin.managesieve) however, if I try to access this port using telnet, it seems to work. root@susanne ~ # telnet localhost 4190 Trying 127.0.0.1... Hi! I have roundcube 0.8.4, with lang_sel plugin enabled. When i change the lang, and after that i login, a get a SERVICE CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE! Error No. [524] The URL is: https://###/roundcube/?_task=mail&_lang_sel=en_GB&_action=plugin.lang_sel If i click on the Mail or Settings, i can use roundcube without error, with the selected language. When inserting an URL such as "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SIS_(file_format)" in a message, the link is not clickable, as anything after "/SIS_" ist neither displayed nor recognized by Roundcube as a link anymore (tested with 0.9-git and 0.8.4). Hello, in the last few days the german mail provider GMX reduced massively their filter-rules. I've used for over ten years the rule X-BeenThere to move emails from/via mailinglists to a subfolder. This header-filtering is now disabled! Now my incoming mail folder looks very disorganized. I lose track! Is there a possible way to let roundcube do these filtering/moving automatically for me? Or is there an other german recommendable mail provider which offers this functionality? I am willing to pay for this service. Has there been any demand for export/import address book formats other than vcard? vcard seems like a sensible approach but not a lot of clients seem to fully support it in their import and export and getting average users to be able to convert between formats is difficult.

What happens to me very often: I post to a list with the wrong from address so a moderator has to view my mail or it's lost. Hi, I would like to have kolab_auth plugin configured, but I don't know where it hangs. I have an global LDAP-Addressbook, called "Kolab", configured in ldap_public. This name I set in kolab_auth's config.inc.php, but I get the error-message: "Unable to start TLS, cannot connect ldap-Server, last tried :389" or something similar. Notice that the error message do not provide any hostname which seems strange to me. Should be localhost... regards, Henning

Hi RCU, I've just found a problem with my multi domains install of RCU 0.8.4 on my dedicte server (gentoo@OVH)... RCU is installed on a vhost which is pointed by many sub domains lets say 100 sub domains formed like this wm.domain.net, wm.dn2.org, wm.site42.fr, wm.nota1337.com, etc... People can login for any email adresse using any of this sub domains, example : login for contact(a)domain.net through wm.domain.netAND wm.dn2.org ; and this is what I need (some of my clients have multiples sites but will stay ont the same host for both, ...) Problem is in the user account management, when some one logs in for contact(a)domain.net through wm.domain.net and then throughwm.dn2.org this creates 2 distincts users in the DB (table users) : - user_id = 1 | username =contact(a)domain.net |mail_host = domain.net - user_id = 2 | username = contact(a)domain.net | mail_host = dn2.org It's perfectly working except when you have adresses attached to one user that you won't find when login through the other host and user... I don't know exactly what is the use of the mail_host in DB but what would be perfect is either to ignore the mail_host when loging (and have a unique constraint on the username DB field) or to use a mail_host from the mail used as login instead of the host on which the user is... I've spend hours on this without finding any lead on how to configure RCU to have "uniques accounts" no matter what the host is... Is anyone having a clue for me ? THX in advance A.G

Hi there, my question is not RCU specific. I'm using RCU with qmail with no authentication for local account and for any external email I do smtp relay to my provider. Recently my provider changed normal smtp at 21 port to the authenticated 587 port and now I can't authenticate with normal qmail. Which solution can you recommend me? -- Saludos!! Hello I have just upgraded my Roundcube from 0.5 to 0.8.4 in the hope that filters will be available. I seem to have some issue with the mail server installation. The current setup is: - FreeBSD - sendmail - two remote mailboxes, both through IMAPS (and SMTP), 'main.inc.php': $rcmail_config['default_host'] = array('ssl://abc:993', 'ssl://mail.def:993'); The question is, what else do I need to install on the machine Roundcube runs on / the remote mail hosts? Hello As this was asked quite a few times on the mailing lists and the forum, we now added a utility to help you changing settings stored in user preferences: bin/moduserprefs.sh Usage: moduserprefs.sh [--user=user-id] pref-name [pref-value|--delete] --user User ID in local database --delete Unset the given preference If for example you want to reset all your user's message listing order, simply execute $ bin/userprefs.sh message_sort_col date Beside changing user prefs you can also unset them and make all users fall back to the default value from the global configuration: $ bin/userprefs.sh skin --delete This new utility is currently only available in git-master but will be part of the upcoming 0.9-beta release. hi, 1. I just downloaded release 0.2.1, replaced all files and load url http://www.../installer/. by step 3 is mentioned that "skin_path" and "locale_string" is missing but after adding these two it says they should be replaced by "skin" and "language". these two are already in the config file. is this an error of the installer rountine? Also "db_backend" is listed but this one is also in the db-inc.php file. 2. SMTP settings. my mail server needs pop before smtp authentification. so which SMTP AUTH type is the right one? thanks for any help jay

Hi, I wonder if that is possible. I tried to just copy the files in skins and plugins/*/skins from that 0.8.1 to my 0.7.3 (has to be that version due to my version of kolab), but roundcube behaves strange then. E.g. ome items are not clickable (calendars etc.). Does anyone run larry ore some other nice theme on 0.7.3 (tried to install litecube-f as well, but I can't select it as theme in roiundcube) regards, Henning

Hello, i have no idea where to adress this issue. I try to use password plugin icm with dbmail becouse i use crypt passwords in my database. mysql %c does not work (other hashing?) I found 1 error but no clue where to start fixing while i dont understand php. IMAP Search Timeouts

Good Day Everyone, I'm having an interesting problem with large mailboxes, searches, and roundcube errors. It seems that any time a IMAP search takes more than a minute to return results Roundcube returns a "Connection to storage server failed." error. If you re-run the search after the error you do end up getting the results without issue. Here are the details: - Roundcube 0.8.2 - CentOS 6.3 - php-5.3.18-1.el6.remi.x86_64 - mysql-5.5.28-1.el6.remi.x86_64 - Courier IMAP 4.2.0 - up-imapproxy-1.2.7-2.el6.x86_64 - memcached-1.4.4-3.el6.x86_64 The problem occurs with or without imapproxy and memcache in place. In addition to that, we also packed some more fixes into this release, one of them a recently reported XSS vulnerability. The buggy previous version makes the compose screen to randomly reload itself which may result in a loss of the unsent message. So if you already installed 0.8.3, please immediately update your installation with this new version. Hello folks, We kind of made it a tradition in Roundcube to add some nasty bugs with every second release we publish :-) This time a pull request accidentally was merged into the release branch instead of git-master where we usually do the testing. The effect of this bug is the compose screen randomly reloading and likely loosing the contents you're writing. There's a patch you can download [1] and apply to any 0.8.3 installation. Hello, I am using Fedora17 and a rpm version of roundcube. On this rpm packaging, configuration main.inc.php and db.inc.php are both stored in /etc/roundcubemail/ Also, I use the managesieve plugin and I have to modify the plugin port from 2000 to 4190 in the plugin configuration setting (/usr/share/roundcubemail/plugins/managesieve/config.inc.php) As the RPM package updates from time to time, the config.inc.php gets overridden. I have without success to set the port in the main.inc.php. Is there a standard way or a best practice to set $rcmail_config['managesieve_port'] = 4190; in /etc/roundcube/..... that allows to override any previous setting? Thanks,

Issues with Plugin contextmenu 1.9 and RC 0.8.2

Hi there, anybody using contextmenu 1.9 with RC 0.8.2 here without any problems? What I'm seeing is that contextmenu seems to use the Larry skin no matter which skin the user decided to use. This leads to a pretty strange (and larry-like) display upon right-clicking on a mail when using the default skin. The last entry in the change log of v1.9 is saying: > 2012 01 21 > ========== > * Update after r5781 > * Add inital support for Larry But it appears that contextmenu v1.9 does support the Larry skin ONLY from this point on...? I tried to downgrade to contextmenu v1.8, but that leads to even stranger results with RC 0.8.2 (no left hand icons at all anymore, the text of the menu items is exceeding the borders of the menu etc.). Password change with roundcube

Hello all! A question about the password plugin. When I login to my email-account with roundcube, I connect to the service that runs on port 143 and ask there, if I may login, right? dovecot is running on port 143 and looks in his passwordfile and permits the login or does not, right? For sending email, sasldb is used on MTA-side to permit sending or not. So when I want to use the passwd-plugin with sasl, it only changes the passwd in the sasldb for sending email, the password in the passwordfile of dovecot is not changed and the user must login with the password once specified, right? Is there a way, to let the users change their password themselves without requiering administrative intervention? Kind regards Andreas

There are two $this->db_handle->isError() calls in ./program/include/rcube_mdb2.php. That has been removed in master. Please open a ticket with Roundcube to get them to change the calls to MDB2::isError().
