Charset and language question

Hello, I have installed version 0.1 beta of RoundCubeMail few days ago after looking for a nice Webmail for months. It suits pretty well to my needs, so a big thanks to the developers for the nice work. However I've some problems with charset and language. All messages encoded in ISO-8859-1 (latin1) don't display the accentuated characters correctly. Apparently the system is UTF-8 based, so the iso-8859-1 encoded messages are converted to UTF-8. However it doesn't work (or I misconfigured something). I checked the wrongly displaying messages and they have the content-type set correctly (charset=iso-8859-1). With the language, once installed I tried to change the language to french when connected as user, but the setting is not kept, that is when I select french, the setting page is in french, but then if I click on the "email" button for example, or any other one, the site comes back to english. I checked the database and language is set to 'fr'. Am I doing something wrong ? Additionnaly, is there also the possibility to set "default" language to french for all new users ? Hello, I'm a professional photographer looking for a new webmail solution. I'm hoping that you can answer a few of my questions I have about the services you offer. I want to merge both my professional & personal email accts into one program. Can I do this with roundcube? If so, can I also draft an email using either my personal &/or professional email address? Upon reading more about the services that you offer, am I correct in reading that you cannot send emails with attachments, and that you do not have spell check as of yet? If not, how far is that in the distant future for roundcube? Thank you in advance for answering my questions regarding your services. Error loading login page

I have been using roundcube for a while now and all has been well. I just updated my server and now I am getting the message. Fatal error: Call to undefined function session_set_save_handler() in /home/familychat/roundcube/program/include/session.inc on line 152 PHP was upgraded, but I didn't change anything. Any help on this would be great. Let me know if you need more info. RoundCube and Exim4 on Debian Sarge

Hi all! Just installed RoundCube to try it out. So far it looks good, runs fast, and feels smooth. One problem. When I send mail, RoundCube says the mail has been sent, but the mail never arrives. An examination of my Exim4 log shows the issue: 2006-03-21 01:27:02 SMTP protocol synchronization error (next input sent too soon: pipelining was advertised): rejected "MIME-Version: 1.0" H=localhost [ 127.0.0.1] next input="Date: Tue, 21 Mar 2006 1:27:02 -0500\r\nFrom: xxxxx <xxxxx@>\r\nTo: xxxxxx(a)gmail.com\r\nSubject: Test 3\r\nMessage-ID: < fcba0dbf860c58463ee731c15a075a0c@loc" Exim4 is working fine for sending other mail. I can send mail through it with Mutt for example. It recieves mail fine too. Anyone seen this problem? Another attachment issue . Now it's a Forward problem

RoundCube does not save Personal Settings

RoundCube is fantastic. However, when users set personal settings (language, default identity, etc.) it does not save them. The next time they login it all is back to default. Any hint? Where does RoundCube store the prefs? Regards R.

Attachment problem

I'm having a problem with attachment files bigger then 1Mb. 1) When I try to send more than 1Mb, I got a blank screen. 2) When I receive a mail with more than 1Mb attachment file, I just can't open it. My php.ini is configured to send 10Mb attachments and I have modified the htaccess on roundcube root dir to 10Mb too. Version 0.1 stable. Does anyone can give a hint about what is hapening? SMTP Error: Failed to add recipient

Hi All, I recently finished the Roundcube setup. I was getting a couple of errors, when I try to reply or send mail. The first error had something to do with permissions of logs and temp directory. I fixed it, thanks to some post in the list. The second error is: SMTP Error in /srv/www/htdocs/webmail/program/steps/mail/sendmail.inc (185): SMTP error: Failed to add recipient Any idea as what this might be? Thanks, Nitin

SMTP TLS (non-SSL)

All, Is there any way to configure roundcube to use TLS for SMTP but not via an SSL connection? Looking at the list archives I see a thread from 15 Nov 2005 that covered this for an SSL connection, i.e. setting configuration as: $rcmail_config['smtp_server'] = 'ssl://mail.host.com'; $rcmail_config['smtp_port'] = 465; But this doesn't work for me because I'm using port 25 and not using SSL. If I turn TLS off in postfix then the following configuration works fine: $rcmail_config['smtp_server'] = 'localhost'; $rcmail_config['smtp_port'] = 25; With TLS turned on though I just get errors. Thunderbird works okay so I'm either doing something stupid with roundcube's configuration or what I want to do isn't supported. Any and all help offered will be appreciated! Regards, Matt P.S. I only really understand SMTP, TLS, etc. to be dangerous but I do have some PHP experience so if the functionality is missing then I'm quite prepared to roll up my sleeves and dig in. I assume since TLS is supported via SSL it can't be too big a job.

Browser back/forward page vs. RC's navigation icons

One thing I've noticed, if I use the RoundCube navigation icons, then all of the problems with messages appearing not to move, or not being deleted, then things go smooth and accurate. Also the hourglass notice at the top-center of the page always displays. However, if I use the forwards/backwards navigation of my webbrowser (IE at the moment.), then the message list display does not always update, nor do I get the top-center update display. Haven't coded HTML or JS in ages, but is there a way to prevent usage of the browsers navigation shortcuts, and force the use of RC's icons for navigation? Or perhaps the login screen should have a say something like "Please use the navigation icons within RoundCube, do not use your browsers forward or reverse features"? Layman's guess, but when using the browsers forward/reverse, then the JS functions do not always trigger, and the browser is caching the main display page, and not showing a current view. And yes, Cache is set to false, but would a pragma no-cache prevent the browser from loading a stale page? -- Dan Schaper

MySQL connection, like others but only occasionally

Hi All, I'm havin a problem similar to what others are having with mySQL connction errors ( DB Error: Connect Failed) , but the problem is, that sometimes it works... then sometimes i get this error. VERY frustrating, as im not sure how to remedy this. Any suggestions as to why it will connect one moment, then not the next, but then a simple refresh will fix the issue, only to have it happen a few clicks later! Also,. funnily, when i try to log in with phpmyadmin, then i get the error (again occasionally) : #1203 - User roundcube has already more than 'max_user_connections' active connections Environment: Linux Apache 1.3.34 PHP v4.4.1 MySQL 3.23.49 (Client API) server version *4.0.24 Appreciate any help. * Jason

Preferences Save

Hi, I've just recently installed roundcube on a Fedore Core 4 systems running the latest version of cPanel. All is well in terms of using roundcube except I don't seem to be able to save preferences. I have had a quick look around but am unable to find any obvious errors in error log. Now, given that roundcube is installed on a cPanel system, which requires a bit of mucking around, I realise it is a long shot contacting the mailing list - though perhaps I am lucky and somone has come across this before. Install $dir: /usr/local/cpanel/base/roundcube Able to access /webmail via cPanel or with the use of cPanel proxy via webmail.domain.com Either way of accessing roundcube has the same affect in that I can't save, time-zone or any of the other preferences. Error in browser: The server was not able to find the document (/roundcube/) you requested. Please check the url and try again. You might also want to report this error to your webhost. No errors in /usr/local/cpanel/base/roundcube/logs/errors No errors in /usr/local/apache/domlogs/webmail.domain No errors in apache-ssl or apache access/error logs Any thoughts/ideas? rgs, Dan

HTML E-Mails from eBay

Hi, I use Roundcube 0.1beta and I have problems with E-Mails from eBay. I only get a blank page, with all other html mails it works. I attached the source of an eBay mail maybe someone can figure it out what causes this problem. width of text boxes

I've been using a major open source webmail client which was slow as can be, and using Roundcube is like going through a crazy time warp to a future where there is a webmail client that rocks. HTML mail Display problem / moving email problem

Me three. Has anybody figured this problem out? Like Rusty, I'm willing to set somebody up with a test account. I'm using the current stable version (0.1beta?), hMailServer is the mail server, firefox/IE both have the blank display problem. I've examined the page using firefox's dom inspector, the place where the email should be is entirely empty. There are no JavaScript errors. Thunderbird reads the HTML emails just fine. I'm also having issues with dragging and dropping emails into folders. It works half the time, and the other half they're right back where they were when you open the inbox again. Your browser does not support cookies

After updating a couple of the files in Roundcube, we're having trouble with the login page now displaying this error : 'Your browser does not support cookies' .... we've tested with IE 6 and Mozilla Firefox with cookies on it gives this error in both cases???

Inbox refresh

I'm not sure if this is a bug or something I need to tweak in the config, but here's my problem: When I login, I can't see new e-mail in the inbox unless I click over to another folder (Sent, trash, etc.) and then BACK to inbox. Only then will new e-mail show up. Is there anything I can do to have it refresh and check when it loads up? A lot of my users are complaining, and they're not very savy when it comes to computers. Buggy display of special characters

I'm from sweden and we have 3 extra letters compared to the english alphabet. Å, Ä, Ö. When you log in to view your email these letters are sometimes replaced with questionmarks, bullets, squares etc. This don't happend everytime, sometimes you just need to refresh the window for them to display properly. And othertimes 1 or 2 of the letters are displayed properly while the 2 and 3:rd get displayed as a questionmark etc. So this is more of a bug report really? Anyone seen this before or got a solution? /quasi

Login failed problem

Hi there, I have just installed RoundCube and configured everything. I have set up an IMAP accound and used Outlook to verify everything is working (including username and password). However, RoundCube keeps giving me a "Login failed" error. When I set logging to the trace (8) level, I do see: * CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 UIDPLUS CHILDREN NAMESPACE THREAD=ORDEREDSUBJECT THREAD=REFERENCES SORT QUOTA IDLE ACL ACL2=UNION cp01 OK CAPABILITY completed Tried PLAIN: Resource id #31 once I hit the LOGIN button. Can anybody help me? Any hints? Where to start? Best regards Ralf
