RC upgrade from 0.95 to 1.0.2

Hi, I thought I should have another shot at upgrading from 0.95 to 1.0.2 ( some months ago I tried to 1.0.1 but rolled back because it failed) This time the runinstaller script gave me this error with a broken RC installation, so I have rolled back again. I'd be grateful if somebody could tell me what this error message meant: Running update script at target... Body of mails not displayed v1.0.2

People, I have two small mails from DLink - one of which contains base64 encoding but neither display the body of the mail in RCM but they both are readable with Mutt. I've looked at the headers etc and everything looks OK to me - is anyone motivated to look at them to work out what the problem is? When and How to cache?

Hi! I am currently deploying Roundcube as the main webmailer for my university. So far my beta-tests with a select group of users have been very positive. But before I push Roundcube on all my users who use webmail I wondered about the caching feature. When do I use the index cache? And how do I cache? Inside my MySQL database or via a memcached instance? My webmail service does not run on the same server as the IMAP service but on a different VM and in a different network but RTT between both is below 2ms. The documentation mentions that caching may even reduce performance in some situations but does not specify which situations. So far I have not be able to experience any slowdowns or speedups while using the index cache so I don't know if I gain anything by using or not-using it. ssl breaks roundcube ?

Hi all! We recently improved our https configuration on lighttpd: https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=ruggedinbox.com but something seems to have broken roundcube .. can't properly attach files, can't send emails, sometimes can't logout. We are pointing the finger at ssl because when using roundcube as a Tor hidden service (thus bypassing ssl), everything works ok and smooth. Hello, I first tried posting this with my gmail and didn't see it showing up on the archive. So I wanted to make sure this went through so I used a non-free email domain. If I created a duplicate thread I apologize. Now on to the issue at hand. We just oddly started experiencing this issue. We've spent quite a bit of time troubleshooting with logging increased on both our IMAP servers (Debian Wheezy 7.6 64bit with dovecot vers 2.1.7-7+deb7u1 ) I am absolutely able to reproduce this on numerous accts, even with logging up to 8 we do not see any "ERROR" or any reason why the copy and expunge would fail. Our production copy of webmail was older (0.9-rc), so I suspected possibly it was a bug or something wrong with that version, so we created a "ourwebmail-new.foo.com" domain and do an inplace upgrade on our database (to preserve our address book and other client info), with no issues on upgrade to v 1.0.2 Currently we have been diffing a successful copy/move and an unsuccessful copy/move and just cant figure out what's going on To sum up: INBOX to SOME_RANDOM_FOLDER has copy/move WORKING INBOX to SUB_FOLDER_OF_INBOX simply says "An Error Occurred: Could not move the message(s). APC cause trouble with roundcube search

Hello I have Roundcube 0.9.5 installed on Debian 7.6. Due to it was slow I read a tuning guide which recommended installing Alternative PHP Cache for apache. ii apache2 2.2.22-13+deb7u3 amd64 Apache HTTP Server metapackage rc php-apc 3.1.13-1 amd64 APC (Alternative PHP Cache) module for PHP 5 ii php5 5.4.4-14+deb7u12 all server-side, HTML-embedded scripting language (metapackage) I installed and enabled it with pretty much default config and I think it did improve on the performance of the server but users started experiencing problem with the search function of the mails. I'm not 100% sure it was caused by APC. Errors: - Roundcube search sometimes when find messages is not able to open them - Messages which were moved from the Inbox to other folders manually are not appear there - When opening a specific letter (result of a search) it loads in another one in its body After these errors I decided removing APC and manually deleting roundcube's index files. Did anybody experience similar errors?

I've added the following line to attachments.inc, below your highlighted line: error_log( 'Error: '.$_FILES['_attachments']['error'][$i] ); My error log gives [Thu Aug 21 20:09:01 2014] [error] [client 192.168.0.10] Error: 0, referer: https://mydomain.com.au/mailnew/?_task=mail&_id=34525533553f5c3d98798e&_act… - ie. the error code is 0 whether a file is successfully attached or not. I assume therefore that this is an apache or a php problem. Are you able to give any pointers?

This is a very odd problem. I am able to attach/upload certain files, but not others. I'm not 100% sure about the exact types, but Word documents and .PDF files seem to be OK and I've been unable to upload JPG and RTF files. When I try to upload a file in Firefox, the spinner beside the name of the file in the upload file list spins forever. When I try to upload a file in IE it gives up and gives a "file upload failed" message. Nothing appears in the logs. Could this be something to do with line length in files (eg. RTF), or perhaps binary vs text files??? Its nothing to do with the size of the files - the .RTF file is only 5kb and I can upload a 46KB Word .DOC file. Some info: roundcube 0.9.5 apache 2.2.27-r4 php 5.5.15 main.inc.php: $rcmail_config['debug_level'] = 8; php.ini (additions to default): display_errors = Off log_errors = On error_reporting = E_ALL allow_url_fopen=1 allow_url_include=1 upload_max_filesize = 20M post_max_size = 20M max_execution_time = 60

temp folder

Hi, I just discovered about 16GB of file ("rcmAttmnt....") on /tmp directory on my mailserver. Actually, on my config.inc.php I have: $config['temp_dir'] = 'temp/'; which is /var/www/webmail/temp in my case. On that folder, the oldest file is two days ago. On /tmp, instead, I have several file even from the last year! I think this difference is related to some upgrade that I did in the past (from 0.9.4 to 1.0.0). My question is: is it safe to delete all files in /tmp directory? Are attachment not stored in user mailboxes? Thank you

Hello, I had a look http://www.email-standards.org/ and i sent myself an email to test it. Roundcube responded greatly, and the email actually DOES look like it's supposed to be. Roundcube and Firefox 31

I can't write messages with both of our Roundcube Installation (1.0.2 and GIT-master) if I use Firefox 31 as my browser. In both of our installtions the attachment area overlaps the edit-area. -- Mit freundlichen Grüßen Martin Wodrich

trouble with main mail view on squeeze

Hi There! I have two roundcube 1.0.2 installations on seperate good old squeeze servers. I upgraded them occasionally. With one server I had little trouble updating to 1.0.1 cause I have a weired "mbstring.func_overload = 7" for a different web-app and bin/installto.sh complained about it. Anyhow the installation using 1.0.0 worked fine. After the release of roundcube 1.0.2 I found time to work out the mbstring thing and updated roundcube. Unfortunately the "mail-view" was broken afterwards: - at first the mailfolder list pops up for half a second and then disappears - the header bars are there and work fine - the window is very broad and mostly white with a grey roundcube logo in the middle - there are two sliders [grey doubble lines] (one in cernter left which can be moved left and right, one in the upper middle which is not realy "working" after moving it little up) - addressbook and settings work as expected I deleted the installation and installed from scratch, but without any progress :( I tested with four browsers on two systems: all the same one roundcube was working the other didn't. So I started to search for an error by comparing the two installations. I think didn't find any relevant difference in delivered html, php settings or third party software. Almost all the same. Any idea? css? javascript? How can I debug this? Thanks for your help

Display oddity with imported address book entries.

We are preparing to move from our legacy webmail to RoundCube. Our servers are running 0.9.5, on Ubuntu 14.04. I have found an oddity when importing address book entries: Our old system can export contacts as Outlook 2000 CSV files. When the CSV is imported to "Personal Addresses" the entries show up, but only the Name is displayed. Clicking on "Edit Contact" shows blank entries. Personal Addresses added via the "Address Book" page display all fields correctly. Both kinds of address book entries---imported, and hand entered---are searched when composing messages, and both work, as in the email address is found, and used in the To:, CC:, etc. fields. Stranger still, when I export these entries the VCARD values are correct, and consistent with the VCARD entries for the hand-entered contacts. Finally, and strangest, when I delete the entries, and re-import them from the RoundCube VCARD file the originally imported contacts still do not display correctly, while the deleted, and imported hand-entered contacts do display correctly. I have tried this several times. I also can see no difference in the DB entries for the Contacts, no hidden characters, vertical tabs, nothing out of the ordinary, or different, in the two types of entries. Ideas? -- Michael D. Hi been trying to configure a read only address book from my samba4 install I read the http://trac.roundcube.net/wiki/Howto_Config/Ldap So its local host or zent1.office.zentyal.lan as its just a vm the error log was telling me that there was no php-ldap so I enabled ldap php mod Then struggled as still nothing but no error. Anybody any tricks or tips for LDAP Address Book

It was a problem with my custom skin. With default skin, moving messages works fine. Strange behavior while sending mails

Hi everybody, I have configured roundcube to access my mail server through the submission port. I have enabled also the smtp debugging and I get the proper log if I send a mail using roundcube. In the log, I get these last messages telling everything is ok: [10-Jul-2014 22:32:26 +0200]: <k2d6nftq> Recv: 250 2.0.0 Ok: queued as 3C1A7E02DB [10-Jul-2014 22:32:26 +0200]: <k2d6nftq> Send: QUIT [10-Jul-2014 22:32:26 +0200]: <k2d6nftq> Recv: 221 2.0.0 Bye However, in the web interface, since I press the button "send" that appears a toast message saying "Sending mail..." and never stops until it is replaced by another which reads "Timed out". So it is like there is some problem by properly processing the output from my smtp server in the roundcube side. Does anybody know how to solve this issue? Thank you very much in advance, Felix

Hi all, I'm writing a plugin that uses the message_part_get hook. The basics of what I'm doing is based on certain mimetypes, I want to have a special viewer for certain attachments. Based on the attachment, I write some info to the Roundcube temp directory. For privacy, I can't put the files in the "myplugin" directory. How can I get this inlined correctly using this method? Any help is appreciated. Trouble in moving messages in folder

Hi, some users complain about problems in moving messages in subfolders. They get "forbidden error", even with different browsers. Oddly, if I access with their credentials, I have no problem in moving message. How can I further investigate this? RC version is 1.0.1 Thank you

Recipient selection with mouse currently not working in git-master

Not sure if this is a temporary problem and if it would be "fixed" if I reboot the machine, but currently I have the following 100% replicable problem: Typing a part of the recipient's name/address in any address field, I'm seeing a number of possible selections. But I can't select any of them with the mouse. Oddly, I can mark parts of the offered selections with the mouse instead, see attached. Selecting a recipient with the keyboard does still work, but only if I didn't click on any of the offered selections before. If I did that, even the keyboard selection doesn't work anymore. spell checker hangs

Hello. On our roundcube installation I see the following error. When I send message, roundcube hangs with status "Sending message" for several minutes. Then I receive "Request time out". However, the message is sent. It's related to spell checker. Hi, I'm having a tough time getting roundcube to work. Here's the software I'm using, and the versions: FreeBSD 9.2-RELEASE nginx/1.6.0 PHP 5.4.28 (php-fpm via fastcgi) (all my extensions are listed below) When I browse to /installer/, I get a blank page. Absolutely nothing in my nginx error log, php-fpm log, or php error log. Hello, I want to migrate our actual webmailer based on Squirrelmail to Roundcube version 0.9.5 (OS Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.5). Using Squirrelmail together with the VLogin-plugin I can connect a certain user using his account for login (and not an email address) to his defined mailbox which is hosted on a cyrus-imap-linux server or a MS exchange system. At the same time I can activate or switch off the availability of specific plugins (for example a sieve filter plugin). I've already installed a roundcube test system, everything works fine now. But I cannot manage that per-user customising with the roundcube vlogin plugin. Within the plugin package there is a file called "TODO" telling me that these features unfortunately aren't realized at the moment. My question to you: is there a way to implement this behaviour? Are there more possibilities if i upgrade to version 1.0.1? Thank you very much in advance.

messages list refreshing unexpectedly

I recently upgraded from Roundcube 0.9.x and I'm now using Roundcube 1.0.1 on FreeBSD with PHP 5.5 With the new release, I find that the messages list refreshes after replying or forwarding. Order of folders cluttered

I don't know how that happened, but all of a sudden the order my mail folders is totally f*cked up (e.g. the Trash folder being the very last of all folders rather than one of the special folders at the top of the folder list). Because of this incident I realized that I don't know if and how to change the order of folders at all (apart from manually fiddling around with settings in the database). Is there a way...? (issue?) Mailbox refresh

Hello, I've been using RC for quite some time now, and I'm having an issue; I think it's more a plugin issue, so I ask here just to be sure. I'm using the 'rcubefilters' plugin (http://sourceforge.net/projects/rcubefilters/), and it works great. Tge e-mails filtered are moved into the folders I want them to, but Roundcube doesn't refresh the UI correctly I think; i.e. when I receive a message I see '(1)' near the Inbox, when I click on it, it goes away but I don't see it on another folder. I have to disconnect and reconnect myself into Rouncdube to see all the boxes correctly. It there a settings I can change to make it works correctly, or do I need to use a different type of filters? IMAP support for sort criteria

Dear all, I want to sort my mails by size, in the old roundcube version it worked without problems, now it seems, that the IMAP server doesn't support the new command. I only use Roundcube online, usually I work with thunderbird and its still working there. I do not know what IMAP server software is used for my system and I do not know how to get to know about it. Attaching files is not working for me, what am I missing?

Hello list, I can't seem to get attaching files to work (Roundcube 1.0.1, Gentoo Linux, Apache 2.4.9, PHP 5.5.12). Whenever I click "attach a file", select a file and then click "upload", Apache logs messages like these: [core:notice] [pid 9155:tid 140489408571264] AH00052: child pid 9482 exit signal Aborted (6) [core:notice] [pid 9155:tid 140489408571264] AH00052: child pid 9493 exit signal Aborted (6) *** Error in `/usr/sbin/apache2': free(): invalid pointer: 0x00007fc60035f9a8 *** I made sure that $config['temp_dir'] points to a directory writeable by the Apache user. PHP settings ensure that file uploads are allowed. Roundcube reports file_uploads: OK session.auto_start: OK zend.ze1_compatibility_mode: OK mbstring.func_overload: OK suhosin.session.encrypt: OK magic_quotes_runtime: OK magic_quotes_sybase: OK I wonder how to better debug this problem to figure out what I am doing wrong here. Can you guys help me with this? -R
