ALERT: dopey home user sorry to be a nuisance
Also what seems now to be happening is that sending message times out but if I reboot the server the message is sent. which is why I sent twice.
what seems to be happening is dovecot is sending the email
dovecot for sure don't send a mail
you confuse smtp with imap/pop3 and roundcube is still only a client like thunderbird, outlook and so on
yes well whatever happens ( roundcube tells postfix to send the mail, postfix tells roundmail it's delivered, roundcube tells dovecot ?) there's a breakdown in communication somewhere.
It's got to be over a year since I did this so is likely I used the default 365 days in mkcert.sh for ssl for dovecot and that is why bad communication. Is there some log about this ? I try make a new one but complains about "unable to find 'distinguished_name' in config" which I put as the hostname of the machine
