Thanks, this makes sense. However I am using sendmail: 1111 ?? Ss 0:05.13 sendmail: accepting connections (sendmail) 1115 ?? Is 0:00.09 sendmail: Queue runner@00:30:00 for /var/spool/clientmqueue (sendmail) I am aware that Roundcube is a mail client, I am using it with IMAP to access my mail accounts. Wonder with this setup there is any chance for 'client-side-filters'. (Technically I believe it is possible, as you can delete/move messages with IMAP.) For some of the accounts I have no control over the server, this is why I have to rely on the mail client. Thanks.
Cheers B.

Is there any way to run a filter manually? It suppose to go through the existing messages in the inbox and move the ones matching the criteria. The filter seems to work on new messages but not on old ones.
what filters ?, the ones that are in roundcube is sieve rules imho ?, so what you need then is fetchmail send this unsorted mails to dovecot-lda one more time
this issue is not roundcube only problem, since roundcube is just another email client like thunderbird that can use sieve filters aswell
but instaed of fetchmail one could make a php wrapper in that resend it to dovecot-lda again
more info if it was just a big guess from me
