Hi everyone,
I've searched the forum to find any solid info on performance statistics, but was unable to find anything I can relate to. I work
at a university with about 30.000 students. My nephew attends the University of Maine - Farmington, and he is
visiting here in the midwest this week. I glanced over his shoulder
when he used my home computer to check his e-mail, and lo and behold
I saw RoundCube in an iframe. I don't know if RC is rolled out to all
of the umaine.edu campuses, or just the one he attends. When I asked
him about the web mail system, he said it was a recent switch.I'm not sure if the umaine.edu people frequent these lists. If not,
since you are associated with a university, they might be responsive
if you contact them directly.
That's a good tip, thanks!
I have spoken to a teacher/professor (who teaches on the IT institute of our university to see if we (IT dept.) can come up with a joint effort of putting roundcube to a test with a class of students, each with about 30 test accounts and a web test tool. He liked the idea, especially the idea that students can help to decide whether a new candidate is up to the task or not. Unfortunately the course that addresses stress test issues had just been completed when I first contacted him. He couldn't say when any next class would follow that course, but your tip might help us to find out if we can continue with roundcube. He also said that with a clear task, he might be able to contribute with a few courses to help develop roundcube. That sure is quite a motivation for the contributing students to ensure they deliver a good product.
