Sounds confusing option. What if u want to see stuff in other folders for example. What if a new mail arrives while a folder is hidden ? Etc. For me it makes more sense in search. Not that its an issue for me. Just my two pen'orth !

I would *love* to have an option for that... but I have no knowledge
that this is a feature in Thunderbird, and I've been using it since
about version 0.8...
So, I would *love* it if you would elaborate...

but it was definitely possible and it was a nice option - if you really
can't get it going, I will re-install TB and check it out (I can't
imagine it has been removed in the meantime?).
