I already wrote a ticket to my hoster and he said, that my client is opening too many connections to the imap server and so some of them get blocked. Is there a possibility in the roundcube configuration, where i can configure that only one connection is used ?

afaik this has to be done on the server side, e.g. with imapproxy.
