Thanks very much! The interface there is exactly like here (except uglier ... I'm sure it will improve :), but they sound sincere and are amenable to end-to-end encryption ... while offering a decent step short of that for my correspondents who are not 'up to it'. And they'll accept cash, once a year! Which is my only tender.

Other option - encrypt the mail with your own key when it hits your mailbox. There is a german provider that offers such a solution for a small few (1 Euro / Month) and was tested with good results by some IT mags here: -> posteo.de
