I have been in the process of adding this feature as a patch on my own installation, but it is quite a bit simpler with SQL or LDAP based virtual users. I don't really like the security implications of doing it for system users.

You can't allow users to change their password from within Roundcube. You need to use your admin interface, or get one that will allow you to do it. Roundcube doesn't support this feature.
