I've been using it since late Saturday, I do not find it any slower than the beta or SVN. Seems at least as fast to me.
What version did you upgrade from? Did you do all of the database updates?

What is slow, exactly? Enable imap_debug and attach here if you find some lags there. What IMAP server are you using.
Hello,
After upgrading to 0.4 I also mentioned that listing of messages in case of big quantity of them is much slower than in 0.3.1.
I user Courier imap server.

With enabled threads or not? Enable imap_debug and attach the log.

You know that Courier sucks? ;)

Threads is off. Sorry, cn't attach logs, but I see at least four "a001 LOGIN" commands in logs. And I have 4838 messages in my inbox folders.
I user Courier imap server.

I know but in our case but in our case we should do courier/dovecot migration for more than 5000 users so I guess it's too risky for now but it is in plans.
Thanks. _______________________________________________ List info: http://lists.roundcube.net/users/
Hello
You know that Courier sucks? ;)
What is a good alternative? I'm planning to setup up a new server smile.

Dovecot 1.2 (I think upcomming 2.0 release is still a little bit buggy).

Are you using enable_caching=true?
Sorry, cn't attach logs, but I see at least four "a001 LOGIN" commands in logs.
There can be max.3 parallel connections in Roundcube. Maybe Courier has got some problems with this. Consider using imapproxy.
And I have 4838 messages in my inbox folders.
This is not a big number, I'm doing tests with 10k messages in one folder and have no problems with this.

Nope. I don't want to use this feature because of security and big number of users. IMAP server is located on other server.

I've already enabled MAXCPERIP=100 for webmail IP in courier settings and tried to use imapproxy but there were problems after some time. Strange but definetely in 0.3.1 messages listing was faster.

+1 Dovecot
I started with 1.0.15 and have had good luck through 1.2.11. I ran into an mbox search performance problem in 1.2.10 which Timo fixed pretty quickly--one of a handful of fixes that created 1.2.11. I've not looked at 2.0 yet, probably won't until the second stable release.
