When using IE, I always had a history in the Roundcube searchbox (the previous search terms were displayed and selectable upon typing).
Now, with FF 26, this function is gone, and I didn't find any setting to get it back.
Any idea? Is this an RC or an FF issue?

This is a browser function, not RC. Perhaps this helps: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/control-firefox-automatically-fills-in-... or use your favourite search engine for "ff autocomplete"

Of course it's a browser function. And it's working at all places (for instance upon entering the username in the login screen), but just not in the RC searchbox.

No, it doesn't. Either FF 26 is broken in this regard, or RC is doing something which prevents FF from autocompleting in the searchbox.

Yeah, that's the keyword I was looking for - to no avail.

As there came no response anymore to the message below:
Does anyone of the FF users here have a history in the Roundcube search field? And if so, with which FF version?

That's what I expected and what other FF users (even with earlier versions) reported to me as well.
So I'm still not sure if it's an RC or an FF issue (or a combination of both).
Pretty strange, anyway...

I assume FF doesn't add the history because the search form is never really submitted (in terms of a HTML form submission) but read by javascript which then loads data via ajax. Seems like IE has some other rules when to store form history.
However, that's not a bug of neither Roundcube nor Firefox or IE but just different interpretations.
Saved searches (aka virtual folders) are planned for Roundcube somewhere in the future and I suppose that's the path we should follow instead of trying to trick browsers.
Kind regards, Thomas
