Roundcube: First impressions + notes

In a word - superb. Installation was so easy, and thus far it has functioned perfectly. One small thing - my timezone was missing (Canada/Newfoundland, GMT -2.5). I added it to the preferences list and then had to modify func.inc to remove the (int) so that the half-hour timezone would save correctly in the preferences. I think there may be one or two other half-hour timezones out there.... One missing feature which I use a lot is 'Reply all'. I don't see it in the list of planned features (http://www.roundcube.net/?p=about). Maybe it could be considered? Thanks again for this lovely webmail app. Doug Robbins

Addition / Change to Macross's Styles Placement...

Hey, I got the Styles into the User Prefrences Area Where I think it's better than on the Front / Mail page... Macross..... Think you could give us more steps on getting the styles working. I did everything you posted and Put up mail_2.css etc... It doesn't really change or do anything... Just refreshes the page... Any idea?? :) Cheers! Jason

Hi We've used SquirrelMail for a while to give us remote access to our IMAP server and have been looking for something more modern, then I noticed RoundCube and decided to give it a spin ... I like it :-) We generally prefer postgres over mysql so I configured it to use pgsql:// in the db.inc.php file, I have found quite a few "niggles" with SQL which presumably works in mysql but doesn't in postgres Had to add a unix_timestamp() function Had to add default empty string values to columns in several tables which have not-null constraints but do not receive values from insert statements Had to change the quoting around several field names from `field` to \"field\" in the php pages Had to change a few "LIMIT x,y" clauses into "OFFSET x LIMIT y" syntax Had to reverse the order of deletes at logout from the cache and session tables to satisfy foreign key constraint I'm not sure if the changes I've made will break mysql/sqlite (and therefore need be made conditional on the database schema) Have these type of fixes already been done in the current CVS or should I try to make a patch and submit it?

Use with SQLite

Hi, Does anyone have any pointers as how to use SQLite as the databse backend? I changed the line in db.inc.php to: $rcmail_config['db_dsnw'] = 'sqlite://./sqlite.db?mode=0646'; But all it does when I try and log-in is... wait.. wait... Cheers, Robert

Long time to view messages

Hello, I have installed RoundCube 0.1-20051007 on my server (php 4.3.10, mysql 4.0.23a, apache 1.3.33) to give it a try and it takes a very very very long time to view messages (about 5 minutes). The server has a bandwith and processing power to spare, SquirrelMail is quite responsive. I've tried both with caching on and off on different computers and different browsers (firefox 1.0.7 & ie6). session_start(): Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /home/httpd/vhosts/roundcubetest/httpdocs/webmail/program/lib/DB.php:1384) in /home/httpd/vhosts/roundcubetest/httpdocs/webmail/program/include/main.inc on line 66 Using CVS Build. Looks to me like main.inc is trying to resend the session id. All browsers state Browser does not accept cookies. (if line 66 is commented out no errors) but still cookie issue. Any suggestions? (yes /temp is writeable)

Wow, thanks a lot for this, Lukas. For those that don't know, Lukas Smith is a key member of the PEAR group, and the lead developer of MDB2, which is supposed to be the replacement for PEAR::DB. I think Roundcubemail really promise but: There are still some things that i consider to be bugs: to read the new e-mails i have to first mark them as read with the specification that sometimes it works but only for the first time after authentification and only for the first e-mail i open. I would also want like the posibility to delete attachements if added by mistache from the e-mail being composed and not leavinng the e-mail i compose and having only the oportunity to start a new message if i added some attachements that i do not want after all to send...
