LDAP Functionality - does it exist?

Hey All, So far, I'm liking this RoundCube mail client. I would like to know though, what do I need to do to get the LDAP Address Book functionality to work on Debian? I've got roundcube working, but each attempt to use the LDAP Directory search results in an error in /var/www/roundcube/log/errors that says : [30-Mar-2006 21:15:58 -0500] LDAP Error: No ldap support in this installation of php. in on line 0 I've installed libapache2-mod-php4 and php4-ldap from the debian repositories. I've also used pear to download and install DB_ldap2 and Net_ldap (both beta versions) and I still get this error. I've looked at the file program/include/rcube_ldap.inc and the error is generated by line :47 that says : if (!function_exists('ldap_connect')) raise_error(array("type" => "ldap", "message" => "No ldap support in this installation of php."), TRUE); I don't know PHP at all or I'd be able to help here, but I'm lost. Function for converting body of msg to plain text?

Is there a function to take the body of the message and convert it to plain text for viewing, No header info, no attachements just the plain text? Thanks, Paul

Help, can't view new messages.

I cannot view any new/unread messages. If I click on new icon (blue star) that change into read icon (grey dot), I can view the messages. This hasn't work since beta release. I am now using latest RCW CVS snapshot; it has fixed many bugs I was experiencing, except for viewing new/unread messages. I am using PMDF as IMAP server. Any clues? Or if you don't know the cause or don't have time, then can you point which file I can look at? Shawn

where does the email reside?

when someone goes to view a message from either thier inbox or sent items, it goes through /steps/mail/show.inc, my question, is there a way to know which mailbox that message resides in? Thanks Paul

search: intended behavior?

Just wanted to make sure that roundcube is doing the expected thing with putting the searches in the session data in the database, and not erasing the data (ever, I think?) but just appending new searches, so the session data gets larger and larger? I presume this is for caching, but it surprised me when looking through the mysql logs to have pages of messages #s in the session data.

PEAR::isError() broken

I've been working on getting roundcube mail to work with some of our packages here at Red Hat, by the way you guys have done a great job! Par for the course with early development I hit some snags, that's to be expected. I'm currently trying to get SMTP to work (we use TLS) and I wasn't getting any error messages. I finally tracked it down to what appears to be a typo in PEAR::isError() function isError($data) { return (bool)(is_object($data) && (get_class($data) == 'pear_error' || is_subclass_of($data, 'pear_error'))); } The class name is PEAR_Error not pear_error, thus PEAR::isError() always returns false and errors are never caught. Once I fixed that debugging got a whole lot easier :-) BTW, DB:isError() appears to be fine, also the problem appears to still be in the CVS version of PEAR.php. On a couple of other notes: I noticed a lot of the smtp functions don't check for errors. Also it would be nice if when an error is encountered it was logged to a file. log_bug() in bugs.inc seems like the right logging function to call when errors are detected, right? I'm happy to make some patches if you're willing to take them. Has anyone started work on an RPM yet? virtuser_query for identities

Here's a small patch that allows roundcube to run a query to fill a new user's identities. In config/main.inc.php I use the following line for my setup: $rcmail_config['virtuser_query'] = 'SELECT address FROM mail.virtual WHERE alias REGEXP \'(^|,)%u(,|$)\' AND NOT (address LIKE \'@%\')'; This ensures that new users get at least one valid email address in their identities, since on my system not everybody has an address $username@$config['mail_domain']. Maybe it would be even nicer if the query was used not only with a new user, but every time on login. Somehow. order by date screwed up

Hi, right now the current cvs trunk orders by date in a very strange way. I suspect it has something to do with me using an ISO-ish date format string (Y-m-d H:S) to display dates in the date column. In any case the last couple of day entries end up between older (above) and really old (below) mails. Sorting done after translating to user's timeformat instead of before? Auke
