A layout quirk

I belive this is a layout quirk. When editing, forwarding or replying to the message, the folder listing from the right disappears and gets replaced with the file attachment form. If one decides not to send the message and just jump to another folder, it requires 2 clicks. The appropriate way to do this would be to keep the folder listing where it always is and when someone tries to leave the message editing view, present a prompt to either send a message or save it in drafts. Small Feature Suggestions

These are a just a few small requests that I feel would improve the overall roundcube user experience. I understand you guys are very busy working on core functionality, and don't expect these changes anytime soon (assuming you agree with them), but figured they should be recorded somewhere for future consideration. 1) When you are reading an email message, could it be in a scroll-box like your inbox, instead of the whole webpage scrolling? I think it looks better, is more consistant, and keeps the menus in view. 2) This is just something I noticed today. When selecting emails in the inbox, shift select individual emails, and control does nothing. I know that personally, I'm used to cntl selecting individual emails, and then shift selecting all the emails between the two clicks. Just something to consider. 3) When adding attachments, instead of selecting it in the browser window and then having to hit upload, could it just automatically upload the attachment after selecting it? The extra step seems uncessesary. 4) This is more from a server admin point of view. Is there a setting for the cookie duration? I have noticed that my roundcube login persists for hours, and in an enviroment with public computers, this could be dangerous. It would be nice if we could set this to a 30 minute timeout or something more standard along those lines. 5) When the session does time out, the first time I try to access the email it keeps me in my inbox, and just dislpays the dialog up top with the "session timed out" message. Then, when I try to view a message again, it kicks me out to the login screen. Could this be adjusted so that it just kicks you strait to the login screen when your login has timed out? Rob

SSL Connection Bug Found

I believe I found the bug with SSL connections to the IMAP server in v0.1-20051007. On line 77 in rcube_imap.inc: global $ICL_PORT, $CONFIG; needs to be changed to: global $ICL_SSL, $ICL_PORT, $CONFIG; $ICL_SSL was not declared global in the the connect funciton, so that the iil_Connect method would see ICL_SSL as being empty, and never use SSL encryption (somewhere along the line, this would cause an issue and roundcube would never actually connect to the imap server at all). Changing that line caused it to work for me. Rob

I've duplicated the default skins folder and changed the main config file to point to it. That works. I'm trying to include a new stylesheet. Where do I find the file that I can add the include to? -Geuis

UW-IMAP problems

Hi, I'm trying to use RoundCube with UW-IMAP but am having a login problem that I can't seem to pin down. I've set the debug level to 8 but nothing more appears in the error logs than whatever the default was. This is all I'm seeing in my mail logs after a 'Login failed' from the UI: Oct 17 10:58:23 mail imapd[30822]: imap service init from 192.168.1.114 Oct 17 10:58:26 mail imapd[30822]: Command stream end of file, while reading line user=gary host=mail [192.168.1.114] Any suggestions? Ok, so our company hosts several domains on one server. When implementing a software such as roundcube, we like to have one central install that eases the pains fo configuring and maintaining. Each domain hosted simply references the central install via sym-links. Anyways, whether that makes sense or not, I wanted to setup a way that the login screen would figure out the mail server domain name without me having to manually set it in a config file or the user inputting it at each login. So, I basically switched out line 33 of main.inc.php with this line: $rcmail_config['default_host'] = 'mail.' . '' . str_replace("www.", "", $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST']); Basically, it takes the address in the address bar, removes the "www." and adds "mail." to the beginning of the domain name. Ex) www.yourname.com to yourname.com to mail.yourname.com I am sure this all seems very basic and straight forward to the more seasoned programmer, but I was excited about getting it to work.
