Configuration Request

Regarding the login page: I have a site which is now using roundcube. The actual IMAP server is housing several different domains for mail exchange (more technically I believe mail.domain.com <http://mail.domain.com> gets routed to one server, where 'domain' could be several domains). The problem this creates is that on the login screen it is necessary for users to specify which domain they have an account on. So, for my username, I would put in 'webadmin(a)domain.com' (assuming 'domain.com <http://domain.com>' is my domain of course), instead of just my username. Anybody using this particular roundcube interface is going to also be from 'domain.com<http://domain.com>' and thus, it becomes pointless to have to specify the domain each time. I suggest an option in the config file for automatically appending a string (in this case, my domain name) to the username that is put into the text box. This would be very helpful and perhaps might even act as a security measurement: only people from certain domains can login. I haven't had time to look into the code myself and it's been awhile since I've programmed PHP, but I would be willing to implement this and submit a patch file or something. It just might take awhile for me. Let me know what you think, and if it sounds like a valid feature to add, I'll join the mailing list and do what I can to help with the development of it. I figured out what the source of my javascript problem was, maybe soneone has this to, so I'll post the solution here. PROBLEM: Login in with firefox always fails with a javascript error. Error: missing ) after condition Source File: ../js/app.js Line: 2212, Column: 6 Source Code: this.request_obj = new NULL I fixed this one with adding activeX = window.ActiveXObject; in the first line of the this.http_request function (around line 2200 in app.js) and then changed else if (window.ActiveXObject) to: else if (activeX) a few lines later After that, roundcube-login worked well (With IE 6 && FF 1.0.7)! SOLUTION: At my office, I'm sittin behind a very strict firewall(proxyserver), which deletes all occurences of potentially dangerous things like "window.ActiveXObject" out of the source code. That's all. I you can implement my workaround as posted above, I and maybe others won't have any more troubles with tight proxies in the future. Out of memory with large mailbox

Hi! I just installed Roundcube to give it a try. However, it looks like it has problem with my inbox (around 8000 messages). Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 2049 bytes) in .../roundcubemail/program/lib/imap.inc on line 104 I first had some problems logging in to my IMAP server via SSL. However it now works using a non-SSL connection. Any ides? Cu, Gunnar

Inbox Refresh

A Bug: I have noticed that when I recieve a new email while logged into Roundcube occassionally the folder listing on the left will update to say that I have a new message, but will not display it in the message pane. An Idea: Is there any way to have Roundcube periodically check for new mail? Currently it doesn't seem to and that would be a most useful feature. ~Brian

Filter patch

Got playing around with message processing and the idea of using filter chains to handle the actions. The current system of having huge functions in ../mail/func.inc was a little bit overboard. The basic idea is to have a filter chain for different action types which can process message contents and yeild results. In an ideal world you would have lots of filters and people writting filters. At the moment I've implemented the following two: * header_address -- provide the link highlighter for send message (compatible functionality) * message_display -- address highlighting in text messages (compatible) -- security (not finished, remove script tags, etc.) -- hideImages (the "safe" mode for image display) -- link higlighting for plain text (compatible) -- quoting coloring (compatible) -- date higlighting (new) I thought I would float this out to the group for some feedback while I continue to plug along. The ultimate idea is to have something that when it sees an Address / Date can provide some hook functionality to pull up a Map/Calendar, etc. --koblas ps. Also sitting in this diff is a fix to only cache in the local mysql messages greater than a specific size, since for some larger messages mysql was barfing.

OT: xajax?

Has anyone looked at xajax (http://xajax.sourceforge.net/)? I don't know much about RoundCube's AJAX framework, but I know there was some talk about restructuring it a bit, so thought I'd throw this out and see if it's any use. Translation of "special folders" in pull-down menu

It may be a good idea to put a link to the mail archive on the website to help prevent some of the duplicate posting that happens to the mailing list. Unless of course it is there already and I just didn't notice.
