We have serious complaints about roundcubeforum.net. Please read the message below. I know that Devs are not responsible for the forum in any way, but we all should care about the reputation of the Roundcube Project. ----------------- Dear Dev Team, It is with the hope that something is done in the future to correct what I'll be sharing here today. I do not pretend to criticize something that I'm not familiar with and I just want to share my honest opinion regarding the Forums hosted at roundcubeforums.net for Roundcube Project. In one word, the forum is deterring for the Roundcube Project. While many of you spend countless hours working hard and coding what I believe is the best ajax front-end webmail for the masses out there, there are people not concerned about it and in fact profiting at any cost from your work by hosting a site that it is constantly redirecting users to porn sites, advertisement and anything that could bring a profit to god knows who's pockets. Not only I have experienced this myself but I have also received comments from co-workers and friends who I have enticed them to give Roundcube a try. They have opted for not registering an account due to the great concern that these inconsistencies bring to their peace of mind. Specially, because they consider that open source projects tend to be very careful and strict with the distribution and support of their data. Some have actually asked me if there is the possibility that the Roundcube installation could be either infected or coded to behave similar to their end-users. I'm certainly sure that your work is done with the main propose of delivering a quality product and I can only imagine how much energy you have put into this project over the years. I have no words to thank you enough for your great job and dedication. Please, consider to either get things straight up with the host or the person in charge of your Forum or move it elsewhere to a place in which profits is not the main and sole propose of hosting such site. Since every suggestion in the open source community should be made with a possible solution, I'm open to offer free hosting myself. I have 120GB of space on a shared server with 250GB of monthly bandwidth that I'll put at your disposition. We can have up to 500 subdomains, 50 ftp accounts, 1200 e-mail accounts plus few other things. Alternatively, I can offer my own personal server to host it but I'm concerned about the performance of the board as I have never put any heavy load on my own server before. I can install, manage and run IPB boards myself. I can also make it simpler for others of you to be part of the board administration so you can change things around yourself as needed and I might not have plenty of time to fully dedicate myself to the 24/7 administration position of the board so having a Team working together is obviously the best option. In the mean time, for consideration, I will invite you to visit http://unlockforus.com/forums/ (not active community there at the moment) I'm just offering what I have and it doesn't have to be taken into account. http://roundcubeforum.net has been either compromised and there are exploits running in the site or there are things set up to profit at any cost, even if it jeopardizes the reputation of the project. Recognition of contributions/volunteers

Thomas, I have this doubt some time and tried to find inside o RC pages some references about this. I also saw in Changelog, but haven't nothing about who did what, and questions about translations updates or adds. Exist some place with all contributions and volunteers? How is recognized the efforts of who helps in this project? Bests, Claudio

Update 0.7.2 released

Dear friends of Roundcube Today we can announce another release of the Roundcube webmail package. This service update adds some bug fixes and stability improvements to the 0.7 series. It also includes new settings to change how contacts are listed in the address book section. See the http://trac.roundcube.net/wiki/Changelog#Release0.7.2 file for details. Contact-centric email

In case anyone has any interest or useful comment, I'm working on a personal project to present an additional more 'contact-centric' view of email using Roundcube/Larry as a base. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-H8yT_pEawmw/T1yDxEfpwvI/AAAAAAAAACM/iuV9pWESuO4/s… If the user keeps the 'folder view' in the left pane then the behaviour is the same as existing Roundcube, i.e. the list of emails appears in top pane and emails are previewed in the bottom pane. But clicking on a 'contact' gives the view in the screenshot above. It's a personal research experiment and partially implemented so far (the 'mail' view includes tabbed folders/contacts, and selecting a contact populates the 'preview' pane, but I haven't yet implemented the contact-centric view of the email list which I'm assuming should be possible using a pre-canned email search). Nearly all email effort seems to be folder/email/thread based, with 'contact' just an attribute of an email that could be sorted/searched the same as subject or date. 'Contact-centric' email would have 'contact' as a primary object as is an 'email' today, i.e. where you see a reference to one, you can click on it and go to the corresponding item. The contact-centric approach looks like it has some possibilities and if you've read this far and have any interest, particularly if you're aware of related work elsewhere, then my thoughts-so-far are discussed more fully in a blog: http://collabtools.blogspot.com/ Cheers Ian

file names with final '.inc'

Hi A newbie(?) question: is correct use ".inc" at final of files for php? I saw some pages and tried in my server this question. I found it inside a thread copied bellow. Is it wrong to do that? ..php (by default) is the normal extension for files. ..inc was (/ still is?) used normally for files being used in include() or require() calls that reside on a remote server. Including a .php file from a remote server causes problems as it's retrieved as a parsed file, so you only retrieve the HTML output, rather than the PHP code you really want. As .inc isn't normally assigned in the server configuration, this will normally return as a text/plain file, meaning that all the PHP code is available when included. I've never needed to use .inc files personally for remote retrieval, some seemed to use it in the earlier days for files include()d regardles of them being local or remote.. personally I prefer .php wherever I can to prevent accidental viewing of code. Mailing list migration to new host

There's no action required on your side, all subscriptions and settings will be transferred to the new host. There might be some delay until all nodes on the net have updated their DNS entries for lists.roundcube.net and to avoid any loss of messages during that period, we recommend to suspend posting between 3pm and 9pm GMT on Monday. This is also a good occasion to thank Jason at gigo.com for offering the list hosting for the last couple of years and to Jeroen at kolab.org to take over. PHP 5.4.0 released

Dear list members, PHP 5.4.0 released! http://www.php.net/archive/2012.php#id2012-03-01-1 I have make a naive change for roundcube. install php 5.4.0 change nginx to new 5.4.0 php-fpm instanze try to use roundcube. I was unable to use the rc due to some Server errors. I got the following messages in my errorlog. It seems impossible to unsubscribe folders that have been deleted
