I am trying to make some changes to roundcube. I want that it can fetch mails from different servers, like gmail and aol, simultaneously. How can I do that? Any help would be highly appreciated.

Maybe the plugin Accounts already does what you need. It is part of a larger bundle of plugins that you can find in the site below:
http://code.google.com/p/myroundcube/
The plugin adds the possibility to switch between different email accounts within the same RoundCube login session.
