This makes no sense.
The server that is being connected to is configured in the database config file.
I just reinstalled roundcube to correct a problem our users have been having, and now there is an input requiring them to enter a server address. This is nuts.
Can there be a little more agreement among the maintainers and the people who actually use this software before you approve willy-nilly changes to the code??
Did you remember to make sure you entered it into main.inc.php as the default_host when you reinstalled it?

Ungrateful users who apparently can't remember that they originally edited the main.inc.php to put a server in make no sense.
Why don't you fly off the handle next time? Maybe spend your time committing bug reports, suggestions, or patches.

Why so many "strong" words ?
Try to look into config files first... If you can't handle it, just ask, in a proper way.
Solution below: set in file main.inc.php -> default_host

yeah. i know how you feel. i trap all my customers in alpha software, and ignore readme files and configuration files. and by god when i dont get my way,
i complain ! i tell people how there wrong ! and i tell people how they need to work together! and i show people how ignorent i am.
in the words of van wilder: complaining is like a rocking chair. it gives you something to do but it doesnt get you anywhere.
instead why not try to help people/(THE COMMUNITY) out, and throw some of us a bone, and tell us what you dont like, and why you dont like it. or AT LEAST read the readme file, or the configuration files. servers arent point and click, read your mind, and your done.
and to everyone else, sorry for that outburst.

I think your mail does not make any sense.

Mail hosts are not configured in the database config file (the database host is something completely different). If you had set 'default_host' in config/main.inc.php before your update, you should to set it again afterwards. Other possibility is to use your old configuration files and update them as suggested in the UPGRADING instructions. Each parameter that was added since the last release is listed there.

No willy-nilly changes have been made on this topic. Yes, there have been some changes that might break the whole application but remember that you're using an alpha version which is under heavy development.
Please come up with some constructive posts on this list the next time!
