Should or not? There's a few reasons to not force such alignment:
are wrapped. This also happen with polish localization and default splitter position.
in one line we got more space for additional plugin controls.
I also have an idea to move listcontrols and countcontrols over the messagelist, see attached screenshot. What do you think?

Should or not? There's a few reasons to not force such alignment:
- if you use vertical splitter to make left side smaller, mailboxcontrols
are wrapped. This also happen with polish localization and default splitter position.
Looks perfect for me with default splitter position and polish localization (see attachment)
- if we make one line footer (mailboxcontrols, listcontrols and quota)
in one line we got more space for additional plugin controls.
This might be right but I want the links to be aligned with the container they affect.
- in r2844 footer looks better (text alignment)
For me not. Sorry, this is just my opinion.

No, that's much worse. The message list and the mailbox list should be vertically aligned. Otherwise the UI doesn't appear clean.
If we need to move things around in order to get more space in the footer then I suggest to find a new place for the quota display. This is not diretly related to the message list (or the folders list) but the other links are.

Maybe something with fonts in my system (did you removed the splitter cookies?), but see attachment (Opera, FF).

I'm talking about text vertical alignment. The whole footer is not in one line (differs in a few pixels). Also I'm almost sure that countcontrols were still wrapped in some browsers (IE7 if I remember, I don't use my Windows laptop very often).

Below the roundcube logo, without "Disk usage:" text and resized to folders list width? I have no idea.

Thread support code being developed utilizes footer too. And it requires a lot of space in some localizations. May be it is possible to introduce second row in a footer? Or move quota display indeed... Or even move navigation buttons too... Alternatively we could move message selection (and thread expansion) links somewhere. Or replace text links with icons and tooltips?

Please look at attachment. I'm pure artist, this is only to show an idea. Tooltips work.

Thanks for your suggestions. I think we'll have to do a little redesign of the mail UI when we start adding the threaded message listing. I'll once discuss this with some experienced screen designers.

Here are screenshots of a revision I'm almost satisfied with (OK, satisfied with all except icons). Footer includes:
plugin),
Everything fits fine to 1024 px width even in a space-consuming Russian locale.
Should I send a patch against current SVN with threaded view patch applied? Or should I wait until threaded view patch is merged to trunk?
