Works for me.
Please calm down and re-think before posting. Current development branch is not meant to be used for production. Use a stable release and re-think your position, this is a community-driven project.

If this is such a problem for you that it needs an urgent fix, please stop using the git development branch. Just use a stable branch.
If you insist, at your own perit, in using a development branch, then please keep any reports constructive.

How more constructive than "completely broken/unusable" can I be if that is the case...? It's simply dysfunctional, can't access almost anything.
And there are still reasons why to use 1.3-beta, as in the so-called "stable" version some things do still not work which do/did work in the beta for a long time already.

There is a difference between a tagged beta, and git master. Git master may get ‘completely broken/unusable’ code pushed, for instance because they want to save work in progress and dont want to risk losing it when their laptop gets stolen. Whatever, there may be all kinds of reasons.
I found your comments a bit aggressive. Words like "completely broken/unusable”, “Please test your stuff before committing”, "Urgent fix appreciated”. Nothing about git-master is urgent. It is the current head of the development branch and should be treated as very risky. Now, you’re more than welcome to run it, but then accept the fact that it may be broken at times. That’s the nature of the beast.

I'm aware of that. There are two major reasons why I've been using git-master (for many years already, BTW):
they make it to the next (beta) release). And we had such cases in the past.
I thought that both reasons would make sense. But that would imply that any current stage of the code is usable in the way that mails can at least be read and responded to.
This was the very first time that the "beast" (your words) didn't do anything at all anymore.
I found your comments a bit aggressive. Words like "completely broken/unusable", "Please test your stuff before committing", "Urgent fix appreciated".
Sorry, they were not meant to be aggressive. But I was just about to send some very urgent business mails, and all of a sudden nothing did work anymore. This was more a bit of hectic and nervousness on my part, and I didn't have the time to send a more "fine tuned" message.
@all: Apologies, if somebody should have felt offended.
We'll be installing the 1.3-beta over the weekend and see if this will work. Probably there may also be a problem at our end.

We decided not to do that, but to install the "frozen" 1.3-beta instead (as suggested e.g. by Cor).

OK, as you were asking for it:
Well, it works at least (which means that you can read and compose e-mails), but after just 20-30 minutes of using it, I did instantly stumble across the following glitches/issues/bugs. And I must admit that it's a bit hard to believe that a) these glitches can make it to a "RELEASE" (even if beta) at all, and that b) nobody did report them yet. Am I the only one using/testing this stuff...? Anyway, here we go:
makes a "wandering star" appear in the "marked" column which is vertically moving parallel to the mouse cursor (the arrow below represents the mouse cursor, but it doesnt matter in which column the mouse cursor is placed):
II have no clue what the purpose of this "wandering star" is, but I don't think it's deliberate.
(numbered or unnumbered) lists. This is what I'm seeing in 1.3 beta release:
And this is what I'm seeing in 1.2.3 stable release:
The two items in the red rectangle are missing in 1.3. Therefore, I'm not using a list in this message (which I would have done normally).
anymore, as the appropriate checkboxes are simply not displayed. Interestingly, this does apply to my company account only, while it's working with my private account. See the following comparison (I did of course hide the names of my customers):
I can move the splitter of the case in the middle as far to the right as I can, the checkboxes still refuse to show up. My impression is that Roundcube is trying to automatically widen the column according to the length of the folder names - probably some sort of miscalculation here...?
quick search menus (#5312 [2])"_ I'm not seeing any such added search button - where would I have to look for it...?
in a later message.
Given these problems with 1.3 after just a short time of usage, we might be going back to 1.2.3 altogether (i.e. even in our beta installation) and stop testing/reporting. I could live very well with those glitches for a short time till they've been fixed, but then we would have to install 1.3-git again to be able to benefit from any possible fixes. But as we've been told that the git version may not work at all from time to time, this is not an option anymore.

That's not a bug. The icon is "mark as flagged" button.
- The HTML editor is all of a sudden lacking of the faclity to create

That's not an intentional change. The buttons have been lost with update to newer TinyMCE version. Something to look at.

Works for me. Did you try with different browser? Maybe some plugins are not compatible with 1.3?

Indeed, the button was added in Larry skin only. Classic is in maintenance mode and will be probably removed in 1.4.
Thanks for reporting.

I hope there is an alternative voor mobile at that time. Classic is the only skin that is marginally usable on mobile devices. Larry is completely unusable.

+1
But even the Classic skin is - as you said - only marginally usable on a mobile. If I touch the cogwheel for instance - just to use the "Open as new message" function (or however it is called in the English interface) - nothing happens, so the function is unusable.
I also desperately tried to move the splitters to no avail. The only result I achieved is that the position was set to "zero" (i.e. I cuoldn't see any messages in the message list anymore).

I know what the icon means, but I don't understand the purpose of displaying it. It would make at least some sense if it would appear only when the mouse cursor is placed in the "marked as flagged" column - but which sense does it make that it does also appear when the mouse cursor is placed in any other column (as I clearly described)? If I click on the message in the latter case, nothing happens (except that - as usual - the message gets highlighted).
Furthermore, when I place the mouse cursor in the "read/unread" column (the one with the blue dot), BOTH icons are shown when moving the mouse up and down.
Sorry, I don't get the purpose. Please explain.

Yes, please. But I don't really get it that such a significant glitch can make it into a beta "release" (and that even nobody did report it yet).

Yes, I did test it with Edge - same result.
But as I explained, it DOES work with my private account (which has shorter folder names), therefore plugins can't be the issue here, right? Did YOU try it with longer folder names...?

Indeed, the button was added in Larry skin only.
Then this should be clearly documented.
Classic is in maintenance mode and will be probably removed in 1.4.
PLEASE DON'T DO THAT (unless you are inventing an even better UI than the classic skin).

I said that before in my initial message ("the arrow below represents the mouse cursor, but it doesnt matter in which column the mouse cursor is placed"), but apparently it has not been realized.

I see the exact same behavior on 1.2.3 with the flag column. I have never heard a single peep from anyone about how terrible that it.

So, you place your mouse cursor say in the Subject column. Then you move it up-/downwards. And then you're really seeing this "wandering star" in the flag column at the very left (in 1.2.3, with Classic skin)?

Of course not, as it has never been the case prior to 1.3. And of course, this is neither the only, nor the most disturbing, nor the most important issue of all, but it is one. I have mentioned others (of more importance) as well.

Feel free to think what you like.
But if you want to listen to some facts: I have been the maintainer of a freeware e-mail client for years as well. OK, that was in the "good ol' days" of DOS/16 and Borland Pascal, but it was the case. So I'm very well aware of the "relationship between the users and the developers" (incl. me) of this kind of software.
The main difference just was (and I mentioned that more than once already years before in this list): I did TEST (before committing anything) and USE this software myself on a daily, no, even hourly basis. And of course we had bugs, but nobody did find that many as me myself. Unfortunately, this isn't the case with Roundcube and it's devs.
Most people and devs here are posting with Thunderbird, Apple Mail (that is you) or undeclared user agents. But if you're using Roundcube as your one and only mail client (which I'm doing for years now), you may have a different view how it should work in detail (and how it should be tested before being released).

It wasnt released. It was a beta. Hence my remarks that you dont seem to understand the word beta. If you feel utterly devestated by these glaring faults, dont use a beta. It would be fine if you would just mention these bugs and be done with it, but you’re just being rude.

Don't assume, just test.
I mean, it does this exact same thing in Larry in 1.2.3, and probably for many versions, and I haven’t heard anthing from our 100.000+ users that they think that’s confusing. And I assumed it wouldnt matter to your level of anger if it was classic or larry.
You know the story about a woman in the US burning her hands because of McDonalds coffee. And because of incidents like those companies put things on their devices like “Do need eat this toy car, may cause suffucation”.
I think the roundcube developers just thought that didnt need to put disclaimers down because it would be obvious. Little did they know.
