I can't seem to figure out the syntax of the 'search' box. Is there a FAQ or HOWTO on this? If not, I would like to know the options, and how to run the search. After figuring that all out I'd be happy to write it up as a HOWTO for the RC Tracker/Wiki.
http://fak3r.com - you don't have to kick it
Well, this is not documented yet because still experimental. By default sender and subject are searched. You can specify a header key to search in: "to:some name"
Valid keys are: from, to, cc, subject, body
I've already created a starting point for the user manual in the Wiki at http://trac.roundcube.net/trac.cgi/wiki/User_Guide_EN A topic index for the user guide does not exist yet but it would be very nice if somebody takes care of that.

Wouldn't it be better to make the default behaviour be search body, subject, sender, and make a new page for better and more advanced searches (posibiliti to select fields to look at and folders)?
The default behavior of searching sender and subject really makes sense. Doing a full message search on a large inbox can be very inefficient, and is often unnecessary. Also, this is the default behavior in Thunderbird (I don't know about other apps). Some advanced search window would be nice, as would some kind of drop down menu to change the search type instead of the user having to know the keywords, but keep the default search as is.

You are totaly right on not searching the bodies by default. It would be a real waste of resources. My bad. :-(

I've finally gotten around to having a pinch of time to write this (and other holes in the wiki) - but even though I'm registered, there's no 'edit page' link anywhere. I've setup/run Wikis based on MediaWiki, JSPWiki and Docuwiki, so I'm not some n00b... how do I edit?
Thanks

Sorry, that was my fault (again). You should be able to modify/create Wiki pages.
