But let me take the opportunity to point to an issue which I believe to encounter:
In the past, I did a body search by entering "body:<search string>" in the search field. Sometimes, approx. ten seconds after starting the search, the spinning wheel of the Ajax message "Searching..." at the top is stopping, and a few seconds later the message disappears completely. So I'm often not sure if the search is still active, or has been interrupted due to some reason, or if no match has been found. In most of these cases no feedback message is given at all, and the message list stays empty.
But in very rare cases I also get a feedback message "Search found no matches", and the message list gets reloaded. The behaviour is not consistent.
The above SEEMS to happen more likely in folders with many messages (> 10,000?).

What IMAP server are you using? If it's Cyrus IMAP, have you looked at regularly running squatter (-r -i)?
