Hi Stefan, I am hardly an expert (the guy with the original nevermind email....), but it sounds like more of a problem with your php include path - my problem was solely due to over configuring my system before I tested it first and was a setting in the config/main.inc.php
I can't remember exactly what the setting is (and I couldn't find it just now, browsing through php.ini) but I think there is an option for whether files in subdirectories of the current directory can be included in the php path by default.
I could be totally wrong on this - kinda tired, but you may want to check it out.
